  • Demand for the technology for access to device control network in industry and for access to building automation system via internet is on the increase. In such technology integration of a device control network with a data network such as internet and organizing wide-ranging DCS(distributed control system) is needed, and it can be realized in the framework of VDN(virtual device network). Specifications for device control network and data network are quite different because of the differences in application. So a router that translates the communication protocol between device control network and data network, and efficiently transmits information to destination is needed for implementation of the VDN(virtual device network). This paper proposes the concept of NCS(networked control system) based on VDN(virtual device network) and suggests the routing algorithm that uses embedded system.

  • Many industrial equipments use RS-232C interface. But Ethernet using CSMA/CD was widly spread recently. This interface is not compatible with RS-232C and requires PC based system. So In this Paper, We decribe a Internet control and monitoring system that control and watch plants without PC. We developed IP controller consisted of microprocessor and NIC and monitoring system using VC++ and SQL database. The protocol used this system is UDP/IP because it is applicable for real time system.

  • XML 기반의 전자책 리더 시스템인 Q+-리더의 개발을 소개한다. 이 시스템은 정보가전 용 내장형 플랫폼 Q+를 목표로 개발되었다. 본 리더 시스템은 OEB 표준에서 규정한 XML 기반의 컨텐트 형식과 CSS에 의한 스타일을 지원한다. 본 시스템은 전자책 컨텐츠를 사용자에게 랜더링해 주는 역할을 하는데, 이러한 랜더링 기능을 내재함으로서 전자책 리더 시스템은 컨텐츠의 사용에 대한 제어가 가능하게 된다. 본 시스템은 자바 언어로 개발되어 여타 플랫폼에서도 사용 가능할 뿐 아니라 개방형 구조로 설계되어 OEB 이외의 다른 표준에 대해서도 쉽게 확장 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

AJAX를 이용한 소방엔진펌프의 모니터링과 제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Monitoring and Control System for Fire Engine Pump using the AJAX)

  • In this paper, the fire engine pump is controlled and monitored by the AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and Xml) in the web server. The embedded system with built-in system having a processor and a memory of high performance occurs many problems in transmitting the large amount of data in real time through the web server. The AJAX is different from HTML (Hyper Text Makeup Language) with java script technology and can make RIA (Rich Internet Application). It process the necessary data by using asynchronous and it take advantage of usefulness, accessibility, a fast response time. Using AJAX can build up web server with real time and monitoring that fire engine pump status, check processing pump memory in the event of fire, also remotely monitors can do. The web server system can control the fire engine pump as like the black box. The experimental results show the effectiveness and commercialize possibility.

인터넷 서버 기반의 원격 로봇 시스템 (Remote robot system using Internet server)

  • 인터넷의 이용과 범용화에 있어서 기술적인 발전은 로봇의 원격 제어 범위와 실시간 감시 체계에 대한 몇몇 제약을 극복해 왔다 하지만, 원격 로봇과 통신하는 로봇 제어 시스템은 무선 랜이나 블루투스를 네트워크 매체로 이용하기 때문에 제어용 프로토콜이 존재하는 내장형 시스템이나 초소형 실시간 운영체제를 탑재할 수 있는 하드웨어를 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 무선 모뎀용 프로토콜과 이를 설치한 서버 시스템을 설계 구현한다. 또한 이 서버를 통해 원격 제어 로봇을 제어할 수 있는 클라이언트 시스템도 구현하여 제시한 프로토콜과 구현된 서버/클라이언트 시스템이 인터넷 기반의 소규모 원격제어 시스템에 적합함을 확인한다.

Technology of the next generation low power memory system

  • As embedded memory technology evolves, the traditional Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) technology has reached the end of development. For deepening the manufacturing process technology, the next generation memory technology is highly required because of the exponentially increasing leakage current of SRAM. Non-volatile memories such as STT-MRAM (Spin Torque Transfer Magnetic Random Access Memory), PCM (Phase Change Memory) are good candidates for replacing SRAM technology in embedded memory systems. They have many advanced characteristics in the perspective of power consumption, leakage power, size (density) and latency. Nonetheless, nonvolatile memories have two major problems that hinder their use it the next-generation memory. First, the lifetime of the nonvolatile memory cell is limited by the number of write operations. Next, the write operation consumes more latency and power than the same size of the read operation.These disadvantages can be solved using the compiler. The disadvantage of non-volatile memory is in write operations. Therefore, when the compiler decides the layout of the data, it is solved by optimizing the write operation to allocate a lot of data to the SRAM. This study provides insights into how these compiler and architectural designs can be developed.

NFC태그에 저장 가능한 마이크로 웹페이지 (A Micro-Webpage Stored in NFC Tag)

  • A Smartphone has an ability accessing Internet by URL stored in NFC(Near Field Communication) Tag for storing the information of items, blogs and web pages. Because the system works through the Internet with URL, however, it needs to pay some costs like communication fee and time. If we can store the web page on the tags, we can save the communication overhead. But they have too small memory to store it. In this paper, we introduce the Micro-Webpage technology which can be stored in NFC tag or QR(Quick Response) code. To make a Micro-Webpage, we remove control tags from the web page to leave a user original content. The removed control tags are stored in our smartphone application as a template. The user content is also compressed to a smaller one by an lossless compression algorithm. When a tag is read, the stored content is decompressed and, it is combined with the template to make the original web page. We have implemented a prototype of Micro-Webpage system on Android platform and confirmed that the prototype has reasonable performance improvements in saving memory and loading web page time.

Design and Implementation of Distributed Charge Signal Processing Software for Smart Slow and Quick Electric Vehicle Charge

  • As environmental pollution and fossil fuel energy problems from fuel vehicle have occurred, the interest of electric vehicle(EV) has increased. EV industry and energy industry have grown dynamically in these days. It is expected that the next generation of primary transportation will be EV, and it is necessary to prepare EV infra and efficient energy management such as EV communication protocol, EV charge station, and smart grid. Those EV and energy industry fields are now on growth. Also, the study and development of them are now in progress. In this paper, distributed charge signal processing software for smart slow and quick EV charge is proposed and designed for dealing with EV charge demand. The software consists of smart slow and quick EV charge schedule engine and EV charge power distribution core. The software is designed to support two charge station types. One is normal EV charge station and the other is bus garage EV charge station. Both two types collect the data from EV charge stations, and then analyze the collected data. The software suggests optimized EV charge schedule and deliveries EV charge power distribution information to power switchboard system, and the designed software is implemented on embedded system. It is expected that the software provides efficient EV charge schedule.

  • The advance of mobile and telematics technologies has produced vehicles with various convenient services for drivers. Specifically lots of researches and several technologies have been developed to provide services of a remote vehicle diagnosis and control. The existing and representative product for a vehicle control is a RCS (remote control system), but it has a problem of short control distance and fragile security. In this paper, a telematics terminal embedded with CDMA and GPS is designed, which can be connected to the Internet. It allows a driver with a cellular phone to remotely diagnosis and control a vehicle via wireless network and SMS.

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷으로 연결된 컴퓨터를 이용하여 전화교환 및 통신이 가능하도록 하는 B-ISDN 기반의 IP-PBX 시스템의 구현을 위한 개발방법 및 설계에 관해 연구하였다. IP-PBX 시스템의 단말과 서버의 구조를 설계하고 호제어를 위한 메세지와 자료구조의 정의와 상태천이를 설계하였고, 사용자간 통화를 위한 착발신 단말 간의 호제어와 부가서비스의 메세지 흐름을 설계하고 복수 호 제어방법을 연구하였다.
