멀티홉 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 상황을 고려한 시스템 수명 최대화 알고리즘 (Energy-Aware System Lifetime Maximization Algorithm in Multi-Hop Sensor Network)

  • This paper addresses the system lifetime maximization algorithm in multi-hop sensor network system. A multi-hop sensor network consists of many battery-driven sensor nodes that collaborate with each other to gather, process, and communicate information using wireless communications. As sensor-driven applications become increasingly integrated into our lives, we propose a energy-aware scheme where each sensor node transmits informative data with adaptive data rate to minimize system energy consumption. We show the optimal data rate to maximize the system lifetime in terms of remaining system energy. Furthermore, the proposed algorithm experimentally shows longer system lifetime in comparison with greedy algorithm.

  • 본 논문에서는 임베디드 리눅스와 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 교량 진단 시스템의 설계에 대하여 기술한다. 제안된 시스템은 임베디드 리눅스 환경 하에서 동작하며, 교량의 상태는 인터넷을 통해 원격으로 모니터링을 한다. 그리고 다양한 교량 진단용 센서에 대해서 최적의 이득과 오프셋을 찾기 위해 유전자 알고리즘을 내장하고 있어 계측의 측정 범위가 크다. 제안된 방법의 검증은 시스템 기반에서 이루어졌다.

  • 본 논문은 임베디드 시스템에서 불필요한 전력 소모를 감소하기 위해 개선된 예측 동적 전력 관리 구조와 태스크 스케줄링 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리듬은 불필요한 전력 소모를 최소화하기 위해 미리 스케줄링을 한다. 제안된 예측 동적 전력 관리는 수행 오버 헤드를 경감하기 위해서 스케줄링 라이브러리를 제공한다. 실험 결과 제안된 알고리듬은 동적 전력 관리를 적용한 LLF 알고리듬과 비교하여 평균 22.3% 전력 소모 감소를 보인다.

  • This paper describes a real-time 3D sound localization algorithm to be implemented with the use of a Bow power embedded DSP. This algorithm first divides the audible frequency band into three, on the basis of the analysis of the sound reflection and diffraction effects through different media from a certain sound source to human ears, and then in each subband a specific procedure is devised fur the 3D sound localization so as to operate real-time on a low power embedded DSP This algorithm aims at providing a listener with the 3D sound effects through a headphone at low cost and low power consumption.

시스템 진단을 위한 실장 MUX의 검사패턴 생성 알고리즘 (The Test Pattern Generation Algorithm of Embedded MUX for the System Diagnosis.)

  • In this paper, we propose the test pattern generation algorithm of the embedded faulty MUX for the prevention of misdiagnosis of digital systems. When the system is partitioned with a large number of functional blocks, if the faults are exsisted in a embedded MUX then it can not diagnose the wanted observation of functional block. The proposed test pattern generstion algorithm can apply the MUXs that designd 2-level and multi-level both. Fault coverage becomes 100% and so it is no necessary of the additional fault simulation and the proposed algorithm that have the regulary and easily generated 2d test patterns. And we confirmed that the reduction of test cost becomes 85%, compared with the conventional segmentation testing scheme.

  • Green Frame is a column-beam structure built by steel frame joints embedded in the columns and beams. Here, the steel frame embedded in the columns and beams is not a standardized product, instead it needs to be order-produced. The quantity for each steel frame size should be calculated to estimate the quantity of steel frames to be manufactured. However, it is highly time-consuming and requires a lot of effort in calculating the quantity of steel frames, for there are a wide range of steel frame types that are embedded in the columns and beams. To solve this problem, the study proposes an algorithm for calculation of the amount of steel frames with ease and promptness. When a program is developed using the algorithm proposed in the study in connection to the information on precast concrete members prepared in the design phase, it is anticipated that the manpower required as well as the manufacturing time will be decreased.

  • Although vehicles become more intelligent for convenience and safety of drivers, traffic accidents are increased more and more. Especially, car-to-car single rear impacts in the urban area are increased rapidly because of driver inattention. To prevent rear impacts in the urban area, commercial automobile vendor applies the low-speed short-distance collision warning system. This paper presents low-speed short-distance collision warning algorithm for the city driving by using sensor fusion of laser sensor and ultrasonic sensor. An experiment using embedded microprocessor in the driving track was used to demonstrate the feasibility of the collision warning algorithm.

  • In this paper, we proposed and developed a fast and efficient real time face detection and recognition which can be run on embedded system instead of high performance desktop. In the face detection process, we detect a face by finding eye part which is one of the most salient facial features after applying various image processing methods, then in the face recognition, we finally recognize the face by comparing the current face with the prepared face database using a template matching algorithm. Also we optimized the algorithm in our system to be successfully used in the embedded system, and performed the face detection and recognition experiments on the embedded board to verify the performance. The developed method can be applied to automatic door, mobile computing environment and various robot.

  • This paper presents a IEEE1588 based clock synchronization technique for a sRIO (Serial RapidIO) network which is applied to a submarine system. Clock synchronization plays a key role in the success of a networked embedded system. Recently, the IEEE1588 algorithm making use of dedicated chipset has been widely used for the synchronization of various industrial applications. However, there is no chipset available for the sRIO network that can offer many advantages, such as low latency and jitter. In this paper, the IEEE1588 algorithm for a sRIO network is implemented using only software without any dedicated chipset. The proposed approach is verified with experimental setup.

  • With the recent development of hardware and software technology, interest in the development of wearable devices is increasing. In particular, wearable devices require algorithms suitable for low-power and low-capacity embedded devices. Among them, there is an increasing demand for a signal compression algorithm that reduces communication overhead, in order to increase the efficiency of storage and transmission of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals requiring long-time measurement. Because normal beats occupy most of the signal with similar shapes, a high rate of signal compression is possible if normal beats are represented by a template. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for determining the normal beat template using the template cluster and Pearson similarity. Also, the template is expressed effectively as a few vertices through linear approximation algorithm. In experiment of Datum 234 of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database (MIT-BIH ADB) provided by Physionet, a compression ratio was 33.44:1, and an average distribution of root mean square error (RMSE) was 1.55%.
