  • Recently, from 2008 to 2012, there are many of elevator safety patents from patent office survey. In this paper, we analyzed the elevator safety patent from 2009 to 2013, found out safety factor is safety control, emergency stop equipment and door opening equipment. Through reliability statistics, we defined the most important things for safety elevator factor is this three things, studied the reason about many patents. Finally, we propose the Kinect Scada elevator system for prevention safety accident.

  • Recently, elevator inspection and self-examination were strengthened through the revision of the Elevator Safety Management Act, but there have been no significant reduction in serious accidents and major failures. Therefore, the government intends to lay the foundation for reflecting the safety quality rating system, which adjusts the elevator inspection cycle, as a policy to induce safety management of preemptive and active management entities. This study systematically reviewed and classified the safety quality rating system for elevator inspection cycle adjustment in previous studies, collected expert opinions, and reconstructed the key items into realistic evaluation items, and evaluated and scored the relative importance of each factor through the AHP technique.

  • From Korea Elevator Safety Institute's report, the major accident factor of elevator is user's mistake, 60%. It means that the necessity of simple monitoring system. In this paper, we explain the standard of elevator safety check and the rate of accidents, then compare with old elevator managing system and new elevator managing system based on IOT technology. Also, we explain the reliability statistics of smart managing system based on expert's decision. Finally, we propose the smart managing system as the alternative method for decreasing the accident factor of elevator.

  • Recently, many of people concentrates on the importance of elevator safety system for the elevator accident of traction machine malfunction. Also, IT convergence has enlarged various field for the effort of enhanced traditional industry. In this paper, we define that the safety is to minimize the dangerous factor, then explain the rules of elevator installation. Through the expert's decision we could find out the dangerous factors are poor check, malfunction of amalgamative and user's mistake. We propose the IT convergence managing system for the effective alternative method of elevator safety system.

  • An elevator is driven by the friction between the pulley and wire rope. A balancing counter weight is connected to the elevator car with a wire rope. This structure is essential to drive elevators while it always has weight unbalance problems on each side. The overbalance-ratio of elevators may be an important factor for safety and structural efficiency; however, it is not yet clearly defined in the Requirements of Korea Elevator Inspection. This paper describes these "weight unbalance ratio" for control of elevators to reduce the number of accidents. It includes the analysis of current elevator maintenance situations and also proposes some fundamental improvement schemes for safety.

  • This study performed a structural performance evaluation of a system scaffolding for elevator installation work developed in previous studies. The structural performance was evaluated via a structural test conducted to apply the working load specified in the design standard. The deflection of the horizontal member and the stress of each member constituting the system scaffolding were measured. Consequently, the structural safety evaluation including structural behavior and required performance was performed using the deflection and stresses measured from the structural test. The structural test and safety evaluation results based on the heavy working load corresponding to the design load indicated that the deflection, which is the performance criterion of the horizontal member, did not exceed the allowable value. Further, each member's stress, which is a safety evaluation indicator, did not exceed the allowable strength for both horizontal and vertical members with bending behavior and fordable bracing with tensile behavior, while also satisfying the required safety factor. In addition, the results confirmed the safety against deformation, partial damage, and destruction owing to excessive and maximum load. Therefore, the system scaffolding developed in this study satisfies both the structural performance and safety required by the design standards; thus, it can be applied to elevator installation work sites.

  • Recently, evacuation safety of building residents becomes the major concern, as the building has been higher and more complicated. Many high-rise multi use buildings are under construction in Korea. Required evacuation time using stairway is longer in high-rise buildings, moreover it is impossible for the disabled to evacuate by using stairway. For this reason the study on the effectiveness of using elevator for evacuation is being progressed. Elevator shaft flow coefficient is the major factor for the calculation of elevator piston effect. The results of this study can be used for the study of elevator piston effect as basic data. The flow coefficient simulation was performed using FLUENT, commercial CFD program. As a result of the flow coefficient simulation, the coefficient is 0.88 considering the safety factor. This result is verified that the result of experimental study, 0.86 is conservative.

  • The number of the lifts installed and used in Korea totals up to 526,676 units as of the end of December 2014, due to the development and urbanization of this country. Since the lift is one of the convenience facilities and especially a kind of essential transportation facilities used by a majority of passengers everyday, it is necessarily required to manage the lift safety. Therefore, this study aims to determine the 5 factors(kinds of lifts, ages of victims, causes of accidents, seasons in accidents, usages of buildings) affecting the types(caught in, trip over, falling, collision) and the injury levels(death, serious injury, minor injury) of the lift accidents based on the analysis of the total victims of 1,514 people due to the 1,146 accidents which have occurred for the past 15 years, and to find the frequency and ratio of each factor in the accidents, and to make a correlation among the factors. As the result of the analysis, it shows that there exists a statistically significant correlation among the factors.

  • The life of elevator wire ropes is one of the most important characteristics of an elevator, which is closely related to the safety of users and its maintenance policy. It is not cost effective to measure the lifetime of elevator wire ropes during their use. In this study, the life estimation of elevator wire ropes (8x19W-IWRC) is considered using accelerated degradation test data. A bending fatigue tester is used to perform the accelerated degradation tests, incorporating the acceleration factor of tensile force. Assuming that the life of wire ropes is log-normally distributed, two life estimation methods are suggested and their results are compared. The first method estimates the life of wire ropes utilizing the accelerated life model with pseudo lives obtained from a linear regression model. The second method estimates the life using a logistic model based on failure probability.

  • At present, wind power is the fastest growing technology in the world. The domestic market depends heavily on imports for wind tower lift. so it manage through the overseas maker. The lift manufacture, establishment and maintenance utility is increasing, localization development of one wind tower lift is necessary with domestic fundamental base technique. In this paper, we will study the components necessary for the development of onshore offshore wind tower elevators, which are currently dependent on total imports, in line with the high growth of the wind market and the enlargement of the wind power generators. First of all, endless winders and cabins, which are the core components of the offshore wind tower lift, were examined for the components that affect the structural safety. Structural analysis was performed on Sheave, which is responsible for most of the lift lifting loads, and Block Stop, a safety device that prevents the cabin from falling in an emergency. The structural suitability was evaluated by comparing with the safety factor. In addition, the on-board control panel combines the control panel of the elevator and the drive motor driving the endless winder for efficient control of the offshore wind tower lift. The addition of features improves ride comfort at departure.
