In this paper, we analyzed the navigation error of TERCOM (TErrain COntour Matching), which is TRN (Terrain Referenced Navigation) batch processing, caused by scale factor error of radar altimeter and proved the possibility of false position fix when we use the TERCOM's feature matching algorithm. Based on these, we proposed the new TRN batch processing algorithm using the slope measurements of terrain. The proposed technique measures on periodic changes in the slope of the terrain elevation profile, and these measurements are used in the feature matching algorithm. By using the slope of terrain data, the impact of scale factor errors can be compensated. By simulation, we verified improved outcome using this approach compared to the result using the conventional method.

After the removal of SA (Selective Availability), horizontal accuracy of 25m(2dRMS) is easily obtained using GPS (Global Positioning System). In this paper, the error characteristics without SA are analyzed and a navigation algorithm concerns this error characteristics is proposed to further improve the accuracy. The proposed method utilizes the relationship between elevation angle and errors that are remained after ionospheric and troposheric delay compensation. The relationship is derived from real measurements and used as a weighting matrix of weighted least squares estimator. Furthermore, a RAIM (Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring) technique is included to remove abnormal measurements affected by multi-path or low SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio). It is shown that using the proposed method, more than 4 times accurate result, which is comparable with DGPS (Differential GPS), can be obtained from experiments with real data. Besides accuracy and reliability, the proposed method reduces large jumps in position and maintains better performance than a method using mask angle to completely remove satellites below this mask angle. Thus it is expected that the proposed method can be efficiently applied to land navigation where some satellites are blocked by building or forest.
This paper proposes a new structural head-related transfer function(HRTF) model to produce sounds in a virtual environment. The proposed HRTF model generates 3-D sounds by using a head model, a pinna model and the proposed distance model for azimuth, elevation, and distance that are three aspects for 3-D sounds, respectively. In particular, the proposed distance model consists of level normalization block distal region model, and proximal region model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we setup an experimental procedure that each listener identifies a distance of 3-D sound sources that are generated by the proposed method with a predefined distance. It is shown from the tests that the proposed model provides an average distance error of $0.13{\sim}0.31$ meter when the sound source is generated as if it is 0.5 meter $\sim$ 2 meters apart from the listeners. This result is comparable to the average distance error of the human listening for the actual sound source.

The objective of this study is to the test applicability of SLURP on Soyanggang-dam watershed. The area of this watershed is $2,694km^2$ and mean elevation and slope is 650 m and $23^{\circ}$ respectively. Topographical parameters were derived from DEM using TOPAZ and SLURPAZ. NDVI was calculated from multi-temporal NOAA/AVHRR images. The daily meteorological data and hydrograph during $1999\~2001$ were selected for model calibration and performance tests. Weather elements (dew-point temperature, solar radiation, maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity) were required from the S meteorological stations near the study area. The model parameters of each land cover class were optimized by sensitivity analysis and SCE-UA method. Runoff rate shows $49.33\%\~64.06\%$. Simulated results during 4 years were estimated by Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency and WMO volume error. Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency shows $0.61\~0.75$ and WMO volume error shows $6.1\%-18.8\%$.

The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate ground-based experiment for the attitude control of spacecraft. A two-axis rotational simulator with a flexible ann is constructed with on-off air thrusters as actuators. The simulator is also equipped with payload pointing capability by simultaneous thruster and DC servo motor actuation. The azimuth angle is controlled by on-off thruster command while the payload elevation angle is controlled by a servo-motor. A thruster modulation technique PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) employing a time-optimal switching function plus integral error control is proposed. An optical camera is used for the purpose of pointing as well as on-board rate sensor calibration. Attitude control performance based upon the new closed-loop control law is demonstrated by ground experiment. The modified switching function turns out to be effective with improved pointing performance under external disturbance. The rate sensor calibration technique by Kalman Filter algorithm led to reduction of attitude error caused by the bias in the rate sensor output.

In this paper, unuse frequency resources additionally in radio communication system and proposed fan shape receiver and interference exclusion flag that can overcome interference by frequency selective special quality. Analyzed results in actualer situation with channel conclusion error. Because frequency selective special quality is strong, there was excellent performance elevation than Conventional space - frequency block code receiver when use together MMSE fan shape receiver and interference exclusion radical in situation that the interference amount is big. Iin case channel conclusion error is small, there were Performance gains of 7dB in (MSE = 0.001) $BER=2{\times}10^{-3}$.
By applying the method of SAR interferometry to X-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image of COSMO-SkyMed, detailed motion patterns of five glaciers in the Parlung Zangbo River basin, Tibetan Plateau, in January 2010 have been derived. The results indicate that flow patterns are generally constrained by the valley geometry and terrain complexity. The maximum of $123.9ma^{-1}$ is observed on glacier No.1 and the minimum of $39.4ma^{-1}$ is found on glacier No.3. The mean values of five glaciers are between 22.9 and $98.2ma^{-1}$. Glaciers No.1, No.2, No.4 and No.5 exhibit high velocities in their upper sections with big slope and low velocities in the lower sections. A moraine lake accelerates the speed of mass exchange leading to a fast flow at the terminal of glacier No.3. These glaciers generally move along the direction of decreased elevation and present a macroscopic illustration of the motion from the northwest to the southeast. The accuracy of DEM and registration conditions of DEM-simulated terrain phases has certain effects on calculations of glacier flow direction and velocity. The error field is relatively fragmented in areas inconsistent with the main flow line of the glaciers, and the shape and uniformity of glacier are directly related to the continuous distribution of flow velocity errors.

In radar systems, information of three-dimensional (3D) trajectory is necessary for tracking targets. The information of 3D trajectory for a 3D radar can be obtained by estimating the azimuth angle, the elevation angle, and the distance. The estimated information of the angles and the distance has errors according to received signals. Since these errors affect performances of 3D radar systems, performance analysis of 3D radar for the angles and the distance errors is required. In this paper, the performance of 3D radar systems is analyzed by root mean square error (RMSE) between true trajectory information and the estimated trajectory information according to the angles and the distance errors.

In this study, both the altitude error due to the refraction and the range error due to the delay in the ionosphere with respect to the frequency are extracted according to the radar elevation to analyze the effect of atmosphere on the space surveillance radar. To achieve this, the radio refractivity profile is modeled using the measured data from domestic weather stations. Then, the altitude-error due to the refraction is extracted using the ray tracing method, and the range error in the ionosphere is extracted according to the frequency. Further, considerations for radar design with respect to the radar error characteristics are discussed based on the abroad space surveillance radar and proposed domestic space surveillance radar. This analysis of the error characteristics is expected to be utilized for the determination of radar location, range of steering, and frequency in the space surveillance radar design.
When pseudolite navigation system is applied to wide area, the tropospheric delay is the main error factor. In this study, we experimentally compared and analyzed the performance of the conventional pseudolite tropospheric delay models. The integration method using radiosonde meteorological data was suggested to derive the reference value for the comparison and analysis. Flight tests were carried out to analyze the performance of the tropospheric delay models according to the elevation angle and distance conditions between the user receiver and the pseudolite. As the results of this study, we provided the basis for the choice of tropospheric delay model appropriate to the relative location characteristics of the pseudolite and the user.
