Fluid flow and structural analyses of an electronic expansion valve (EEV) using CO2 as a working refrigerant are carried out to estimate the mass flow rate and maximum stress. An engineering sample EEV that the orifice diameter is 1.8 mm was fabricated. The mass flow rates were measured at various EEV inlet temperatures and pressures for several EEV openings using experimental heat pump system. The sample EEV has over 35 MPa burst pressure and the maximum mass flow rate of CO2 through the EEV increased to 100 g/s at full opening condition.
본 논문은 HVAC(heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) 시스템에 대해 Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적화된 Multi-Fuzzy 제어기 설계를 제안한다.

In case of heat exchangers operating under frosting condition, the thermal resistance and the air-side pressure loss increase with a growth of frost layer. In this paper, a transient characteristic prediction model of the heat transfer for a multi-inverter heat pump with frosting on its surface was presented by taking into account the change of the fin efficiency due to the growth of the frost layer. This dynamic simulation program was developed for a basic air conditioning system composed of an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, a linear electronic expansion valve, and a bypass circuit. The theoretical model was derived from measured heat transfer and mass transfer coefficients. We also considered that the heat transfer performance was only affected by the decrease of wind flow area. The calculated results were compared with the experimental results for frosting conditions.
The use of river water as a heat source of a heat pump has the advantage in the performance compared to the use of atmospheric air because the temperature variation of river water over the year is relatively small. In this study, the performance of the heat pump system using river water as a heat source was numerically investigated. A simulation model for the 2-stage compression heat pump system was developed with each component model composed of compressors, heat exchangers, a flash tank and electronic expansion devices. The peformance of the heat pump system using river water was improved by $50\%$ compared to that using atmospheric air in winter conditions.
This paper presents the capacity-control characteristics in an industrial cooler with a variable speed compressor. The inverter-type compressor is controlled by the rotational speed of the operational frequency. This type of the compressor performs the wide range of load compared to the on-off type. When the load of the system reduces, the rotational speed will be reduced. Thus, the system leads to the less power consumption and extends the longer durability of the compressor. With the variable rotational speed of the compressor the cooling capacity of the cooler is about 1.6-3.6 kW and the capacity control is about 40-100%. The system showed the highest efficiency when the rotational speed is about 45-70 Hz. The results can be used as the basic design data to control an industrial cooler.
In this study, experimental study on the heating performance of a $CO_2$ heat pump water heater with a variation of operating conditions such as refrigerant charge amount, outdoor temperature, compressor frequency, EEV opening and water mass flow rate. Based on the test results, the optimum charge amount was 1800 g. At the water mass flow rates of 75, 85, 95 kg/hr, the water heating temperature was 62, 67, $74^{\circ}C$ and COP was 2.6, 2.8, 3.0, respectively. Besides, the water mass flow rate and compressor frequency were varied to maintain above the water heating temperature of $60^{\circ}C$ with the decrease of outdoor temperature. So, The compressor frequency increased beyond 65 Hz and the water mass flow rate was 45 kg/hr at the outdoor temperature of $-13^{\circ}C$, 65 kg/hr at $-8^{\circ}C$, 75 kg/hr at $-3^{\circ}C$ and 85 kg/hr at 2, $7^{\circ}C$. As the outdoor temperature decreased, the heating COP decreased by 2.5-39.8%.
The LiN $i_{l-y}$$Co_{y}$$O_2$ samples were synthesized at 80$0^{\circ}C$ and 85$0^{\circ}C$, by the solid-state reaction method, from the various starting materials LiOH, L $i_2$C $O_3$, NiO, NiC $O_3$, $Co_3$$O_4$, CoC $O_3$, and their electrochemical properties are investigated. The LiN $i_{l-y}$$Co_{y}$$O_2$ pre-pared from L $i_2$C $O_3$, NiO, and $Co_3$$O_4$ exhibited the $\alpha$-NaFe $O_2$ structure of the rhombohedral system (space group; R3m). As the Co content increased, the lattice parameters a and c decreased. The reason is that the radius of Co ion is smaller than that of Ni ion. The increase in da shows that two-dimensional structure develops better as the Co content increases. The LiN $i_{0.7}$$Co_{03}$. $O_2$[HOO(800,0.3)] synthesized at 80$0^{\circ}C$from LiOH, NiO, and $Co_3$$O_4$ exhibited the largest first discharge capacity 162 mAh/g. The size of particles increases roughly as the valve of y increases. The samples with the larger particles have the larger first discharge capacities. The cycling performances of the samples with the first discharge capacity larger than 150 mAh/g were investigated. The LiN $i_{0.9}$$Co_{0.1}$$O_2$[COO(850,0.1)] synthesized at 85$0^{\circ}C$ from L $i_2$C $O_3$, NiO, and $Co_3$$O_4$ showed an excellent cycling performance. The sample with the larger first discharge capacity will be under the more severe lattice destruction, due to the expansion and contraction of the lattice during intercalation and deintercalation, than the sample with the smaller first discharge capacity. As the first discharge capacity increases, the capacity fading rate thus increases.increases.s.s.s.
