Thermal Analysis of Mica/Epoxy Composites used In Generator Stator Windings (발전기 고정자 권선에서 사용되는 마이카/에폭시의 열적 분석)

  • The thermal impact of mica/epoxy paper(130${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) is investigated using XRD, DSC and TGL X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis was performed to know the position and structure of mica crystal in insulation materials. A differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) was used to measure glass transition temperature and excess enthalphy of the composite materials that had been subjected to thermal aging. The glass transition temperature(T$_{g}$) measured by DSC is observed at 95.43$^{\circ}C$ and 113.43$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The T$_{g}$ also increases with increased aging time. Measurements performed by TGA(thermogravimetric analysis) have showed that weight loss profile of sound specimens are lower than those aged.ged.

Development of Yb(HFA-D)$_3$Complexes for Liquid Laser Material (액체 레이저 매질로서의 신물질 Yb(HFA-D)$_3$착물의 개발)

  • Perdeuterated hexaflouroacetylacetonato-ytterbium [Yb(HFA-D)$_3$]complexes were synthesized by the keto-enol tautomerism reaction of Yb(HFA-H$_3$) in methanol-d$_4$in rder to reduct the radiationless transition to the ligands. The luminescence properties of Yb(HFA-D)$_3$complex were measured in the following anhydrous deuterated organic solvents ; Methanol-d$_4$, THF-d$_{8}$, PO(O$CH_3$)$_3$and DMSO-d$_{6}$. The intensity, lifetime and quantum efficiency of the luminescnce in DMSO-d$_{6}$ were superior to those in other deuterated solvents. It was suggested that the anhydrous DMSO-d$_{6}$ might be the most appropriate solvent for the liquid laser material of Yb(HFA-D)$_3$complex.complex.

Stability and Electronic Properties of the Adsorption of Molecular Hydrogen on Metal-containing Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes

  • The binding ability and hydrogen storage capacity of nitrogen doped carbon nanotube with divacancy (4NDCNxNT) that is decorated with transition metals was investigated based on density functional theory calculations. Results indicate that scandium shows an ideal reversible hydrogen binding capability with promising system-weight efficiency compared with other transition metals when functionalized with 4ND-CNxNT. The (Sc/4ND)10-CNxNT can store up to 50H2 molecules, corresponding to a maximum gravimetric density of 5.8 wt%. Detailed structural stability and electronic properties were reported as hydrogen molecules were absorbed. It takes about 0.16 eV/H2 to add one H2 molecule, which assures reversible storage of H2 molecules under ambient conditions.

  • In this paper, the cavity-length-dependent spectral and temporal characteristics of a V-groove AlGaAs-GaAs quantum wire (QWR) laser at each subband were investigated. At short cavity lasers less than $300{\mu}m$, a discrete wavelength switching from the n=1 to the n=2 subband occurred due to the increased threshold gain, resulting from the increased cavity loss. Using the characteristic of the wavelength shift from n=1 to the n=2 subband with shortening the cavity length, ultrafast lasing behaviors under gain switching at the n=1 and the n=2 subband transition were demonstrated and compared.

  • 열증착법을 이용하여 copper(II) phthalocyane (CuPc)의 박막을 제작하였다. 기판의 예열 온도를 달리하여 제작된 CuPc의 박막은 ${\alpha}-phase$${\beta}-phase$로 구분할 수 있으며 phase에 따른 결정 구조를 관찰하기 위해 x-ray diffraction을 사용하고 peak의 위치를 관찰하였다. 또한 SEM, UV visible absorption spectra의 변화를 통해 온도에 따라 상전이가 이행해 가는 모습을 구체적으로 관측하였다. 이러한 결정 구조의 변화는 CuPc 박막의 전기전도 특성에 영향을 달리하여 유기발광 소자에 응용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • 열증착법을 이용하여 copper(II) phthalocyane (CuPc)의 박막을 제작하였다. 기판의 예열 온도를 달리하여 제작된 CuPc의 박막을 x-ray diffraction, SEM, UV visible absorption spectra의 변화를 통해 관찰한 결과 결정의 구조에 따라 ${\alpha}$-phase와 ${\beta}$-phase로 구분할 수 있었다. 이러한 결정 구조의 변화는 CuPc 박막의 전기전도 특성에 영향을 달리하여 유기발광 소자에 응용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • Starting from the Debye theory of rotational Brownian motion equation, we derive an expression for explaining the generation of Maxwell displacement current (MDC) across single monolayers on a material surface. The orientational order parameter and the dielectric relaxation the of monolayers are derived. Based on fille analyses developed here, we examine the MDC across phospholipid monolayers with thermal stimulation due to the change in the spontaneous polarization, and the generation of MDC from 4-cyano-4\`-5-alkayl-biphenyl(5CB) Langmuir-film at the onset of transition by monolayer compression

  • We used the surface photovoltage spectroscopy(SPVS) for characterization of GaAs/Al\ulcornerGa\ulcornerAs multi-quantum well(MQW) structures grown by molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) method. Energy gap related transitions in GaAs and AlGaAs were observed. The Al composition(x=0.3) was determined by Sek's composition formula. Transition energies in MQW were determined using the differential surface photo-volatage spectroscopy)DSPVS) of the measured resonanced. In order to indentify the transitions, the experimentally observed energies were compared with results of the envelope function approximation for a rectangular quantum well. We have observed and interesting behavior of the temperature dependence(80K~300K) of the 11Hand 11L transition for sample.

Pseudo-electromagnetism in graphene

  • In this talk, I will discuss roles of pseudo vector and scalar potential in changing physical properties of graphene systems. First, graphene under small uniaxial strain is shown to be described by the generalized Weyl's Hamiltonian with inclusion of pseudo vector and scalar potential simultaneously [1]. Thus, strained graphene is predicted to exhibit velocity anisotropy as well as work function enhancement without any gap. Second, if homogeneous strains with different strengths are applied to each layer of bilayer graphene, transverse electric fields across the two layers can be generated without any external electronic sources, thereby opening an energy gap [2]. This phenomenon is made possible by generation of inequivalent pseudo scalar potentials in the two graphene layers. Third, when very tiny lateral interlayer shift occurs in bilayer graphene, the Fermi surfaces of the system are shown to undergo Lifshitz transition [3]. We will show that this unexpected hypersensitive electronic topological transition is caused by a unique interplay between the effective non-Abelian vector potential generated by sliding motions and Berry's phases associated with massless Dirac electrons.

  • HWE 법으로 전 영역의 ZnMnTe 단결정 박막을 성장하였다. 상온 반사 스펙트럼으로부터 상온에서의 에너지 띠 간격이 Mn 조성비 증가에 따라 선형적으로 증가함을 알았다. 외부 자기장이 없는 10 K에서의 photoluminescence 스펙트럼에서 엑시톤 관련 near edge emission과 큰 조성비에서 지배적인 inta-$Mn^{2+}$ transition($^4T_1{\rightarrow}^6A_1$)을 관측하였다. edge emission은 조성비에 따라 선형적이고, intra-ion transition은 거의 변화가 없었다.
