  • Liquid crystals are important materials because of their applications in display technology and many other scientific applications. Different mixtures of liquid crystals and their doped samples have gained interest because a single liquid crystal compound cannot fulfill all the required parameters for the display application. The doping can be accomplished with dyes, polymers, or composite nanoparticles among other substance. The addition of nanoparticles can modify the physical properties of the host liquid crystal and enhances the performance of electro-optical devices. The present study is focused on investigations of possible changes in dielectric and electro optical properties of liquid crystals caused by doping with ceramic nanoparticles. Including smaller nanoparticles were found to be better candidates for use in suppressing the unwanted ion effects in liquid crystal displays.

  • E-voting is expected to offer prominent advantages over traditional voting methods. Advantages include faster tallying, greater accuracy, prevention of void ballots, and lower cost. However, many experts express concerns about the potential for large-scale fraud. Recently, many paper based end-to-end (E2E) voter verifiable systems providing individual verifiability and universal verifiability have been proposed. These systems, unlike previous voting systems, are used in polling booths and without access to trusted computing devices at the time of voting. In this paper, we propose a practical and secure E2E voter verifiable system using a paper receipt based on cryptographic technologies.

  • The recent growth of the robot technology has made robots be popular and provides people with many opportunities to apply various robots. But most robots are controlled by its unique program, users feel hard and unfamiliar with robot. Therefore we need to find ways to make user feel comfortable and familiar with the usage of robot. First we will analyze how the user interacts with the robot. Next we will discuss a standard human-robot interface provide more usability with that analysis. In this paper, 10 degree of the Level Of Autonomy(LOA) are proposed. It is evaluated that what interface components and designs are proper to each LOA. Finally we suggest a way to design the standard human-robot interface for remote controlleds robot through handheld devices like the Personal Digital Assistant(PDA) and smart phone.

  • Carbon nanotubes have attracted much attention as future mechanical and electronic materials. However, manipulating techniques are not well developed yet. Here we propose to use electrostatic drop-on-demand devices to eject micro-droplets containing micelle-suspended single-walled carbon nanotubes. A simple electrostatic force analysis and photographic studies of droplet ejection process are presented. The analytical analysis shows that semiconducting species have higher electrostatic force density. However, enrichment of specific electronic types is not clear at large size droplets produced in this study. A micro-scale jetting device is being produced to prove the suggested behavior.

  • Graphene, a two-dimensional material with a single atomic layer, has recently become a major research focus in various applications such as electronic devices, sensors, energy storage, catalysts, and adsorbents, because of its large theoretical surface area, excellent electrical conductivity, outstanding chemical stability, and good mechanical properties. Recently, 3D nanoporous graphene structures have received tremendous attention to expand the application of 2D graphene. Here, we overview the synthesis of 3D nanoporous graphene network structure with two-dimensional graphite oxide sheets, the control of porous parameters such as specific surface area, pore volume and pore size etc, and the modification of electronic structure by heteroatom doping along with its various applications. The 3D nanoporous graphene shows superior performance in diverse applications as a promising key material. Consequently, 3D nanoporous graphene can lead the future for advanced nanotechnology.

  • The widely used power supply (Switched Mode Power Supply : SMPS) as a source in order to stabilize direct current for electronics or communication systems has merits, when it is compared to the existing source for stability, such as high efficiency, small size, light weight by means of switching process of the semiconductor device which controls the flow of power. However, due to existence of inductors and capacitors used for charging energy, the source part in electronic or communication systems hasn't reached the speed, that is supposed to get, for achieving smaller size and lighter weight. In order to get smallness in size, it is necessary to increase switching frequency. And that makes devices for measuring energy smaller. Nevertheless, the rise switching frequency brings increases in switching loss, inductor loss, and power loss. Also, the occurrence of surge and noise caused by high frequency switching is getting higher. The resonant converter has been considered as one of methods that give solutions for the problems of SMPS and that method have been paid attention as a source technology in electronics and communication.

  • Active-matrix electrophoretic display (AMEPD) is commonly used for the applications of smart handheld reading devices such as e-books and e-news. This paper presents a new reduced waveform lookup table storage method that reduces the associated lookup table by approximately 2n (n is the number of gray levels employed) times the conventional one. The paper also proposes a driving method for image display. The method provides high-speed performance for image display and also effectively eliminates the image residue, achieving high image quality. The prototyped controller was connected to a 6" AMEPD panel, whose excellent display quality demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed controller design.

  • In this study, noise figures of 0.3 $\mu\textrm{m}$-GaAs MESFETs are predicted experimentally with different temperatures. Both the noise figure and the gate leakage current are obtained with wide range of temperatures(27$^{\circ}C$∼300$^{\circ}C$). From the results, gate leakage current increases with temperatures. It is expected that gate leakage current contributes directly to the increase of shot noise current. It is therefore highly recommended to apply an accurate noise analysis to the design of the devices and modules at high temperatures. Fini,Uy the relation between the gate currents resulting in the increase of noise and the noise figures of submicron GaAs MESFETs are traced with different temperatures
