Ka대역 위성통신용 fly-away 터미널 안테나 & RF 시스템 설계 (An Antenna & RF System for Fly-away Satcom Terminal Application on Ka-band)

  • An Antenna & RF system for a fly-away satcom terminal application on ka-band is presented in this paper. The Fly-away satellite terminal can be moved and operated by two person and adapt automatic satellite tracking system in order to decrease the tracking time. Additionally, for low-power consumption, compact size and light-weight, a dual reflector antenna is constructed using dual-offset gregorian antenna structure. For minimize weight, the reflector of the antenna is made of Magnesium. For low-power consumption and light-weight, the pHEMT MMIC compound devices is utilized. The Electronic Band-Gap(EBG) Low-Pass Filter(LPF) is designed for harmonic rejection. In the receiving part, Low-Noise Block converter(LNB) structure is designed for compact and lightweight. In this paper, fly-away satcom terminal with low-power consumption, compact size and light-weight is described with antenna system and RF system performances. Through the experimentation, fly-away terminal's EIRP is more than 50dBW, G/T is more than $17dB/^{\circ}K$.

부분부하에서 비에스테르화 바이오디젤 5% 혼합유의 성능최적화를 위한 실험계획법 적용에 관한 연구 (A study on the application of DOE for optimization of blending oil with non-esterified biodiesel fuel at partial engine load)

  • Non-esterified biodiesel fuel is cheaper than esterified that because of a simple manufacturing process that only consists of filtering. Applicability of this on diesel engine with electronic control system was accomplished, then optimization adopting a fractional factorial design and response surface methodology was carried out at 25% and 50% of engine load in this study. Pressure of common rail and injection timing mainly effected on responses as specific fuel oil consumption and nitrogen oxides regardless of engine load. Estimations were 310.3 g/kWh of specific fuel oil consumption and 237 ppm of nitrogen oxides at 25% load, and 233.2 g/kWh of specific fuel oil consumption and 730 ppm of nitrogen oxides at 50% load. Tests to verify these estimations were accomplished and as the results, specific fuel oil consumption was 300.4 g/kWh and NOx was 277 ppm at 25% load and 236.8 g/kWh and 573 ppm at 50% load.

고속 혼성모드 집적회로를 위한 온-칩 CMOS 전류 및 전압 레퍼런스 회로 (On-Chip Full CMOS Current and Voltage References for High-Speed Mixed-Mode Circuits)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속 혼성모드 집적회로를 위한 온-칩(on-chip) CMOS 전류 및 전압 레퍼런스 회로를 제안한다. 제안하는 전류 레퍼런스 회로는 기존의 전류 레퍼런스 회로에서 부정확한 전류 값을 조정하기 위해 주로 사용되는 아날로그 보정 기법과는 달리 디지털 영역에서의 보정 기법을 사용한다. 또한, 제안하는 전압 레퍼런스 회로는 고속으로 동작하는 혼성모드 집적회로의 출력단에서 발생할 수 있는 고주파수의 잡음 성분을 최소한으로 줄이기 위해 고주파 신호 성분에 대해 작은 출력 저항을 볼 수 있는 구조의 레퍼런스 전압 구동회로를 사용한다. 이 레퍼런스 전압 구동회로는 전력 소모 및 칩 면적을 최소화하기 위해서 저 전력의 증폭기와 크기가 작은 온-칩 캐패시터를 사용하여 구현하였다. 제안하는 레퍼런스 회로는 0.18 um n-well CMOS 공정으로 설계 및 제작되었으며, 250 um x 200 um의 면적을 차지한다. 칩 제작 및 측정결과, 제안하는 전류 및 전압 레퍼런스 회로는 공급 전압 및 온도의 변화에 대해서 각각 2.59 %/V와 48 ppm/℃의 변화율을 보인다.

  • 현대사회는 화석연료 등의 사용으로 기후변화로 인한 기상이변이 전 세계가 이례적인 피해가 속출하고, 코로나와 같은 전염병이 인간에게 더욱 생활의 질이 악화되고 있는 실정이다. 온실가스를 줄이고 신재생에너지 사용이 시급한 현실이다. 화석연료의 사용을 줄이고 신재생에너지 사용으로 지구환경 오염을 줄이고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 태양광을 이용해 지능형 CCTV 및 인터넷 WiFi, 냉난방 시스템을 통한 사계절 환경과 안전 및 통신 기능이 가능하고, 스마트폰 앱을 통한 태양광의 생산량과 소비량을 실시간으로 모니터링하여 최적화된 전력관리를 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 태양광 발전 시스템을 사용할 수 없는 한파, 태풍, 자연재해 등의 계통 정전과 같은 비상시 끊김 없는 디젤 발전을 지원하는 하이브리드 발전시스템을 제안한다.

Energy Use Coordinator for Multiple Personal Sensor Devices

  • Useful continuous sensing applications are increasingly emerging as a new class of mobile applications. Meanwhile, open, multi-use sensor devices are newly adopted beyond smartphones, and provide huge opportunities to expand potential application categories. In this upcoming environment, uncoordinated use of sensor devices would cause severe imbalance in power consumption of devices, and thus result in early shutdown of some sensing applications depending on power-hungry devices. In this paper, we propose EnergyCordy, a novel inter-device energy use coordination system; with a system-wide holistic view, it coordinates the energy use of concurrent sensing applications over multiple sensor devices. As its key approach, we propose a relaxed sensor association; it decouples the energy use of an application from specific sensor devices leveraging multiple context inference alternatives, allowing flexible energy coordination at runtime. We demonstrated the effectiveness of EnergyCordy by developing multiple example applications over custom-designed wearable senor devices. We show that EnergyCordy effectively coordinates the power usage of concurrent sensing applications over multiple devices and prevent undesired early shutdown of applications.

Initial Firing Angle Control of Parallel Multi-Pulse Thyristor Dual Converter for Urban Railway Power Substations

  • This paper presents an optimal initial firing angle control based on the energy consumption and regenerative energy of a parallel multi-pulse thyristor dual converter for urban railway power substations. To prevent short circuiting the thyristor dual converter, a hysteresis band for maintaining a zero-current discontinuous section (ZCDS) is essential during mode changes. During conversion from the ZCDS to forward or reverse mode, the DC trolley voltage can be stabilized by selecting the optimal initial firing angle without an overshoot and slow response. However, the optimal initial firing angle is different depending on the line impedance of each converter. Therefore, the control algorithm for tracking the optimal initial firing angle is proposed to eliminate the overshoot and slow response of DC trolley voltage. Simulations and experiments show that the proposed algorithm yields the fastest DC voltage control performance in the transient state by tracking the optimal firing angle.

다양한 매칭 회로들을 활용한 저잡음 증폭기 설계 연구 (Design of Low Noise Amplifier Utilizing Input and Inter Stage Matching Circuits)

  • In this paper, a low noise amplifier having high gain and low noise by using input and inter stage matching circuits has been designed. A current-reused two-stage common-source topology is adopted, which can obtain high gain and low power consumption. Deterioration of noise characteristics according to the source inductive degeneration matching is compensated by adopting additional matching circuits. Moreover trade-offs among noise, gain, linearity, impedance matching, and power dissipation have been considered. In this design, 0.18-mm CMOS process is employed for the simulation. The simulated results show that the designed low noise amplifier can provide high power gain and low noise characteristics.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선통신용 송신기에 적용 가능한 12비트 80MHz 전류구동 방식의 D/A 변환기를 설계하였다. 제안된 회로는 3비트 온도계 디코더 회로 4개를 병렬 연결한 혼합형 구조를 채택하였다. 제안된 D/A 변환기는 0.35um CMOS n-well 디지털 표준 공정을 사용하여 구현하였으며, 측정된 INL/DNL은 ${\pm}1.36SB/{\pm}0.62LSB$ 이하이며, 글리치 에너지는 $46pV{\cdot}s$이다. 샘플링 주파수 80MHz, 입력 주파수 19MHz에서 SNR과 SFDR은 58.5dB, 64.97dB로 측정되었다. 전력소모는 99mW로 나타났다. 본 논문에서 구현한 12비트 80MHz 전류구동 혼합구조 D/A 변환기는 고속, 고해상도의 성능을 필요로 하는 다양한 회로에 응용과 적용이 가능하다.

High Frame Rate VGA CMOS Image Sensor using Three Step Single Slope Column-Parallel ADCs

  • This paper proposes column-parallel three step Single Slope Analog-to-Digital Converter (SS-ADC) for high frame rate VGA CMOS Image Sensors (CISs). The proposed three step SS-ADC improves the sampling rate while maintaining the architecture of the conventional SS-ADC for high frame rate CIS. The sampling rate of the three-step ADC is increased by a factor of 39 compared with the conventional SS-ADC. The proposed three-step SS-ADC has a 12-bit resolution and 200 kS/s at 25 MHz clock frequency. The VGA CIS using three step SS-ADC has the maximum frame rate of 200 frames/s. The total power consumption is 76 mW with 3.3 V supply voltage without ramp generator buffer. A prototype chip was fabricated in a $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS process.

Structural Properties of Dielectric Barrier Reactor with Hole (DBH) for CF4 Decomposition

  • In this paper, the $CF_4$ decomposition efficiency is investigated for three simulated plasma reactors that are needle plate reactor, metal particle reactor, and dielectric barrier reactor with hole (DBH). The$CF_4$ decomposition efficiency by DBH is much better than that by needle plate reactor or metal particle reactor. When applied voltage is increased up to the critical voltage for spark formation in the all reactors, the $CF_4$ decomposition efficiency is increased. The $CF_4$ decomposition efficiency in needle plate reactor and metal particle reactor is about $12\%$ and $22\%$ respectively at applied voltage of 23 kV (consumption power: 110 W) and $CF_4$ concentration of 500 ppm, however, the $CF_4$ decomposition efficiency is more than $95\%$ in case of DBH. DBH should be much better than two reactors investigated for $CF_4$ decomposition.
