다기 전력시스템의 동적안정도 향상을 위해 UPFC 연계시 고유치 분포 해석 (Eigenvalue Distribution Analysis Via UPFC for Enhancing Dynamic Stability Into the Multi-machine Power System)

  • This paper analyzes an eigenvalue distribution and enhancement of the small signal stabiligy when an Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) modeling is connected into the multi-machine power system. Recently a lot of attention has been paid to the subject of dynamic stability. It deals with analysis of eigenvalue sensitivities with respect to parameters of UPFC Controller and damping of interarea and local electromechanical oscillation modes using UPFC Controller. It provides an insight and understanding in the basic characteristics of damping effects of UPFC Controller and shows a very stable frequency response via UPFC in test model. The series branch of the UPFC is designed to damp the power oscillation during transients, while the shunt branch aims at maintaining the bus voltage and angle. Comprehensive time-domain simulation studies using PSS/E show that the proposed robost UPFC controller can enhance the small signal stability efficiently in spite of the variations of power system operating conditions.

비파괴검사를 위한 PZT-5A 탐촉자에 관한 연구 (A Study on PZT-5A Probe for Nondestructive Inspection)

  • In this study, piezoelectric transducers were designed and manufactured using PZT-5A which had relatively high electromechanical coefficient, nondestructive testing system was developed which was able to inspect automatically using stepping motors, PC-Lab, and PC-Scope. The optimum design conditions for NDT were presented and verified comparing PZT-5A probes with comercial probes. It was proved by simulation and experiments that Epoxy is a good material as matching and backing layers. The envelope was reduced 60% with matching layer and 76% with matching and backing layer. NDT was successfully carried out for aluminum test pieces. Distance error of PZT-5A probe was 2.8%.

  • This paper deals with the characteristics analysis and experiments of operating actuator for automatic door operated by fire detecting sensor. The dynamic characteristics of operating actuator system are analyzed on the structure of the operating actuator model. Simulation and experimental result have been performed for the verification of the proposed system and dynamic characteristics applied to a actuator by electromechanical energy conversion theory. The experimental result have been compared with proposed theoretical predictions. In this experimental result represented the temperature T1 and T2 which remarks T1 is a circumstance of operating actuator system, and T2 is a fire detecting sensor part.

  • In this research project two aspects of small signal stability are studied: improvement in Hessenberg method to compute the dominant electromechanical oscillation modes and siting FACTS devices to damp the low frequency oscillation. Fourier transform of transient stability simulation results identifies the frequencies of the dominant oscillation modes accurately. Inverse transformation of the state matrix with complex shift equal to the angular speed determined by Fourier transform enhances the ability of Hessenberg method to compute the dominant modes with good selectivity and small size of Hessenberg matrix. Any specified convergence tolerance is achieved using the iterative scheme of Hessenberg method. Siting FACTS devices such as SVC, STACOM, TCSC, TCPR and UPFC has been studied using the eigen-sensitivity theory of augmented matrix. Application results of the improved Hessenberg method and eigen-sensitivity to New England 10-machine 39-bus and KEPCO systems are presented.

Contact resistance increment of no-insulation REBCO magnet during a quench

  • The lumped-parameter circuit model for a no- insulation (NI) high temperature superconductor (HTS) magnet has been well understood after many experimental and analytic studies over a decade. It successfully explains the non-linear charging behaviors of NI magnets. Yet, recently, multiple groups reported that the post-quench electromechanical behaviors of an NI HTS magnet may not be well explained by the lumped circuit model. The characteristic resistance of an NI magnet is one of the key parameters to characterize the so-called "NI behaviors" of an NI magnet and recently a few groups reported a potential that the characteristic resistance of an NI magnet may substantially vary during a quench. This paper deals with this issue, the increment of contact resistance of the no-insulation (NI) REBCO magnet during a quench and its impact on the post-quench behaviors. A 7 T 78 mm NI REBCO magnet that was previously built by the MIT Francis Bitter Magnet Laboratory was chosen for our simulation to investigate the increment of contact resistance to better duplicate the post-quench coil voltages in the simulation. The simulation results showed that using the contact resistance value measured in the liquid nitrogen test, the magnitude of the current through the coil must be much greater than the critical current. This indicates that the value of the contact resistance should increase sharply after the quench occurs, depending on the lumped circuit model.

  • Aiming at the deficiencies of power sharing control performances when a traditional droop control is adopted for microgrid inverters, this paper proposes a microgrid inverter power sharing control strategy based on a virtual synchronous generator. This control method simulates the electromechanical transient characteristics of a synchronous generator in a power system by an ontology algorithm and the control laws of a synchronous generator by control over the speed governor and excitation regulator. As a result, that the microgrid system is able to effectively retain the stability of the voltage and frequency, and the power sharing precision of the microgrid inverter is improved. Based on an analysis of stability of a microgrid system controlled by a virtual synchronous generator, design thoughts are provided for further improvement of the power sharing precision of inverters. The simulation results shows that when the virtual synchronous generator based control strategy was adopted, the power sharing performances of microgrid inverters are improved more obviously than those using the droop control strategy.

  • 전력 계통 안정화 장치는 전력시스템에 외란이 발생했을 때 저주파수 동요현상을 효과적으로 저감하는 역할을 한다. 본 논문은 제주-해난 HVDC로 연계된 전력시스템에 설치된 PSS의 적정 파라메커 선정이론을 다루었다. 사용한 알고리즘은 위상지연을 적절한 극좌표 이동법으로 보상하고 설정된 댐핑계수가 되도록 이득계수를 구하는 방법이다. PSS 효과를 검증하기 위해 동태 및 과도안정도를 PSS 설치 전과 후로 비교하였다. MATLAB을 근거로 한 PST 프로그램을 사용하여 사례연구 시스템에 적용한 시뮬레이션 결과는 PSS를 설치하므로써 전력시스템이 안정화되어 만족할 만큼의 댐핑효과를 보았다.

복합재료 곡면형 자동기의 최적설계를 위한 대규모 수치해석 연구 (Large-scale Simulation for Optimal Design of Composite Curved Piezoelectric Actuator)

  • In this paper, the electromechanical displacements of curved piezoelectric actuators composed of PZT ceramic and laminated composite materials are calculated based on high performance computing technology and the optimal configuration of composite curved actuator is examined. To accurately predict the local pre-stress in the device due to the mismatch in coefficients of thermal expansion, carbon-epoxy and glass-epoxy as well as PZT ceramic are numerically modeled by using hexahedral solid elements. Because the modeling of these thin layers increases the number of degrees of freedom, large-scale structural analyses are performed through the PEGASUS supercomputer, which is installed in our laboratory. In the first stage, the curved shape of the actuator and the internal stress in each layer are obtained by the cured curvature analysis. Subsequently, the displacement due to the piezoelectric force (which is resulted from applied voltage) is also calculated. The performance of composite curved actuator is investigated by comparing the displacements obtained by the variation of thickness and elastic modulus of laminated composite layers. In order to consider the finite deformation in the first analysis stage and include the pre-stress due to curing process in the second stage, nonlinear finite element analyses are carried out.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive technique for the cardiac output regulation of a pendulum type electromechanical TAH. This techinque, which consists of two RLSE's and two PASTC' 5, performs Its controllability over the TAIB so that the m(RAP) and m(LAP) values re- main close to their desired values under she assumption that the variation of m(RAP) and m (LAP) are dominated by the variation of C.0. and the difference between the left and right ventricular output, respectively. To evaluate the performance of the proposed control system, a simulation is performed by using a human model which contains physiologic, drug and treatment, artificial heart and noise models. As a result, dual adaptive controller showed that abnormal m(LAP) and m(RAP) could be recovered to the normal range within 10minute and maintained desired value in steady state. The operation of this controller prored to be robust in spite of the rapid variation of human status.

  • The ceramic filters were developed using technology similar to that of quartz crystal and electromechanical filter. However, the key to this development involved the theoretical analysis of vibration modes and material improvements of piezoelectric ceramics. The primary application of ceramic filters has been for consumer-market use. Accordingly, a major emhpasis has involved mass production technology, leading to low-priced devices. A typical ceramic filter includes monolithic resonators and capacitors packaged in unique configurations. Nakazawa developed a double-mode resonator as two acoustically coupled single resonators. And he developed 10.7MHz crystal filters using multi-energy trapping mode of thickness shear vibration. He succeeded in realizing a two-pole band pass filter response without external inductance by splitting a dot electrode to creat coupled symmetric and antisymmetric vibration modes. Accordingly, the simulation for ceramic filter were important. So that, this paper were investigated the pass frequency of filter on the electrode length and thickness of ceramic.
