  • Generally, a silicone rubber and a chloride polyethylene(CPE) have been used as a binder for high-performance composite EM( Electromagnetic) wave absorbers. In this study, the EM wave absorption abilities for natural lacquer which is newly suggested as a binder were investigated MnZn ferrite composite EM wave absorbers mixed with the natural lacquer were prepared and their absorption ability was also investigated. The prepared MnZn ferrite composite EM wave absorbers mixed with natural lacquer showed an improved EM wave absorption characteristics compared with MnZn ferrite EM wave absorbers mixed with the conventional binders. such as a silicone rubber and a chloride polyethylene(CPE). The matching frequency and the absorption ability of EM wave absorbers varied with the thickness of them.

  • In this paper, we fabricated sheet-type EM wave absorbers for mobile phones by using sendusts and tested EM wave absorption of it. The band-width of EM wave absorbers coated with $Al_2O_3$ were larger than non-coated EM wave absorbers. Particle size decreased with increasing milling time, which made the result of increasing of EM wave absorption. The fabricated EM wave absorbers show a reflection coefficient 17.4 dB at 946 MHz for a 4 mm sample and 5 dB at 1.8 GHz for a 1 mm sample.

  • In this paper, the electromagnetic (EM) wave absorbers using TiO2 as a dielectric material with chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) were investigated in W-band radio frequencies. We compared the relative permittivity with reflectionless curve and the absorption properties of samples containing 40 wt.%, 50 wt.%, 60 wt.%, 70 wt.%, and 80 wt.% TiO2. It is possible to realize a complex relative permittivity satisfying the reflectionless condition by choosing composition ratio of TiO2. The optimized composition ratio of TiO2 for the maximum absorption property is about 70 wt.%. As a result, we have confirmed the realization of an EM wave absorber with a high absorption property in W-band radio frequencies.

  • In this paper, a novel flexible microfluidic metamaterial absorber is proposed for remote chemical sensor applications. The proposed metamaterial absorber consists of a periodic of split-ring-cross resonators(SRCRs) and a microfluidic channel. The SRCR patterns are inkjet-printed using silver nanoparticle inks on paper. The microfluidic channels are laser-etched on polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) material. The proposed absorber can detect change of the effective permittivity at different liquids. Therefore, the absorber can be used for a remote chemical sensor by detecting change of the resonant frequencies. The performance of the proposed absorber is demonstrated with full-wave simulation and measurement results. The experimental results shows that the resonant frequency is 10.49 GHz at the empty channel. When ethanol and DI-water are injected into the channel, the resonant frequencies are 10.04 GHz and 8.9 GHz, respectively.

  • In this paper, we studied the magnetic composite sheets for electromagnetic wave noise absorber of quasi-microwave band by using soft magnetic FeSiCr and Fe50Ni flakes with the thickness of about $1{\mu}m$ and polymer. The magnetic hysteresis curve including saturation magnetization and residual magnetization and the complex permeability characteristics of the composite sheets were investigated to clarify the mixing effect on electromagnetic wave absorption properties. The saturation magnetization was decreased about 10% while the residual magnetization was increased about 15% and the real parts of complex permeability at below 500 MHz were increased 0.6~4 while those values at above 500 MHz were decreased 0.4~2.5 according to the change of contents of FeSiCr and Fe50Ni powders. As a result, the reflection loss can be moved to the lower frequency from 2~3 GHz to 1~1.5 GHz as the contents of Fe50Ni flaky powder into FeSiCr flaky powder was increased up to 50%.

  • In this paper, we studied the relation between heat-treatment temperature of ferrite and electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of ferrite-rubber composite. The heat-treatment temperatures of ferrite are 1200 and 1300 $^{\circ}C$, 2 hr. As s result, it has been shown that the optimum heat-treatment temperature of ferrite for electromagnetic wave absorber are related to the chemical composition. And, we can control electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of ferrite-rubber composite by the control of heat-treatment temperature of ferrite.

  • In this paper, we study the complex mobile antenna for WPT(Wireless Power Transfer) with NFC(Near Field Communication) of inductive coupling using FPCB which has half thickness compared with the existing coil type antennas. Considering the pattern thickness of loop antenna, the analysis of electromagnetic wave absorber and battery's influence, absorber thickness, the ranges of design parameters are obtained. The proposed antenna has 0.45 mm thickness using single layer 3 oz FPCB and absorber. From measurement, the characteristics of NFC antenna can be satisfied with the specifications of EMVCo. and domestic mobile telecommunication and the transmission efficiency of the proposed WPT antenna is 68.1 % which is competitive with the existing coil type antenna. From the results of this paper, it has been confirmed that the proposed antenna can be used as the WPT and NFC antenna for mobile phone. • The design of broad-band, thin layer electromagnetic wave absorbers usually employs magnetic materials. The common absorber consists of a magnetic material layer bonded to a metal plate at the back. For such structure, a theoretical expression involving six parameters defines the allowable material shape and values of electromagnetic parameters that will produce zero reflection or more practically more than 99% absorption (20dB attenuation). The Secant Method was employed to compute the matching boundary values corresponding to 20dB attenuation. In addition, a search algorithm coupled with the Secant Method was developed to obtain allowable range of material parameters for the design of wave absorbers. These numerical methodes applicable to any six parameters effectively yielded accurate solutions in the least iterations.

  • There are few reports of high frequency loss behavior in the near-field for magnetic films with semiconducting properties, even though semiconducting magnetic materials, such as soft magnetic amorphous alloys and nanocrystalline thin films, have been demonstrated. The electromagnetic loss behavior of multilayer magnetic films with semiconducting properties on the microstrip line in quasi-microwave frequency band was analyzed numerically using a commercial finite-element based electromagnetic solver. The large increase in the absorption performance and broadband characteristics of the semiconducting/insulating layer magnetic films examined in this study were attributed to an increase in the loss factor of resistive loss. The electromagnetic reflection increased significantly with increasing conductivity, and the loss power deteriorated significantly. The numerical results of the magnetic field distribution showed that a strong radiated signal on the microstrip line was emitted with increasing conductivity and decreasing film thickness due to re-reflection of the radiated wave from the surface of the magnetic film, even though the emitted levels varied with film thickness.
