Effects of the GaAs Semiconductor Particles on Electrophysical Phenomena at the Pt Electrode Interfaces (Pt 전극 계면의 전기물리적 현상에 관한 GaAs 반도체 입자효과)

  • Effects of the GaAs semiconductor particles on electrophysical phenomena at the Pt electrode/10S0-3TM KCl aqueous electrolyte interfaces have been studied using voltammetric time based and electrochemical impedance techniques. The anodic decomposition effect f the GaAs semiconductor particles on electrophysical phenomena was significantly observed during the positive potential scan (0 to 1.0 V vs. SCE). On the other hand, the cathodic decomposition effect of the GaAs semiconductor particles was negligible during thenegative potential scan (0 to -1.0 V vs. SCE). The GaAs semiconductor particles act as current activators or mediators during the anodic process and act as charge screens during the cathodic process. The electrolyte resistance and related impedance was increased due to the presence of the GaAs semiconductor particles. The anodic decomposition effect of the GaAs semiconductor particles can directly be applied to activate the hydrogen evolution.

  • The Jig cells are fabricated in the drying room, and consisted of elemental sulfur used as a cathode active material, lithium metal used as a anode material and 1M $LiCF_{3}SO_{3}$ dissolved in TG (Tetraglyme)/DIOX (1,3-Dioxolane) used as a electrolyte. The four kinds of electrolytes with different content of TG and DIOX are prepared. The electrochemical properties of the foregoing electrolytes-based lithium sulfur batteries are analyzed by AC impedance experiments. The conductivity of four different electrolytes is investigated. The conductivity of electrolyte [1M $LiCF_3SO_3$ dissolved in TG/DIOX (50:50, vol.)] is higher than that of other three kinds of electrolytes with different volume ratio (70:30, 30:70) and single solvent (TG).

  • The best Ppy weight ratio was 7 wt% and the optimal electrode composition ratio was 78 : 17 : 5 wt.% of (MSP-20 : BP-20 =1 : 1), (Super P : Ppy =10 : 7) and P(VdF-co-HFP). Implantation of Ppy as the conducting agents have led to superior electrochemical characteristics because of the low of internal resistance and faradaic capacitance. The result of unit cell with Ppy 7 wt% were as follows: 28.02 Fig of specific capacitance, 1.34 Ω of DC-ESR and 0.36 Ω of AC-ESR. Unit cell showed a good stability up to 200 charge-discharge cycles, retaining 82% of their original capacity at 200 cycles. From the analysis of impedance, the electrodes with Ppy 7 wt% showed low ESR, low charge transfer resistance and quick reaction rate. It was inferred that quick charge-discharge was possible. As compared with the specific capacitance (rectangular shape) of CV, it was also concluded that the specific capacitance originated from thecompound phenomena of the faradaic capacitance by oxidation and reduction of Ppy and the non-faradaic capacitance by adsorption-desorption of activated carbon.

  • An attempt has been made to understand the influence of retrogression and re-aging (RRA) on the exfoliation corrosion behaviour of AA 7085 alloy in comparison with the peak aged condition (PA). Immersion tests using ASTM G34 and studies involving electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed that the RRA treated alloy provided higher resistance to exfoliation corrosion than the PA treated alloy. The improved resistance was attributed to the enhanced Cu content and the discontinuous nature of the grain boundary precipitate, which was revealed through transmission electron microscopy.

  • This study focuses on the development of the Electrochemical type $CO_2$ sensor Module by using solid electrolyte which was first developed in our country. The module applied the creative fundamentals that the voltage state generated from Electro-chemical reaction using new materials is converted into $CO_2$ ppm. The study verified the accurate of Electromotive Force(EMF) through the experiment using high-impedance opamp(INA332) to measure EMF which ranges from 100mV to 600mV to be outputted from $CO_2$ sensor, and the small electric current of some nano-ampere(nA)

  • Digitalization in electronic system is required the capacitor which have a large capacitance with small size, low impedance at high frequency, and high reliability. The fabrication and its properties of aluminum solid electrolytic capacitor are investigated. Employing conduction polymer film such as, polypyrrole as solid electroylte, solid type aluminum electrolytic capacitors were made. The surface of insulationg oxide is covered with conducting polymer layer prepared by chemical oxidative polymerization. Thereafter this conducting layer is covered with conducting polymer prepared by electrochemical polymerization. The dielectric properties of these capacitors were also measured and discussed. Regarding on frequency characteristics of the trial made capacitor, impedance and ESR at high frequency is lower than those of the stacked type film capacitor. It is alo confirmed that temperature coefficient of capacitance and dissipation factor of the capacitor are lower than those of film capacitor and liquid type aluminum electrolytic capacitor.

  • The performance behavior of solid oxide fuel cell using $H_2$ and CO as fuels was investigated. The power densities and impedance results showed a little variation as the ratio of $H_2$ and CO changed. However, when the pure CO was used as a fuel, area specific resistance (ASR), especially low frequency region, was increased. This might be due to carbon deposition on anode. The maximum power density was 60% lower using CO than using $H_2$. Carbon deposition reduced after constant current was applied. The SOFC performance was recovered from the carbon deposition after applying constant current during 100h.

  • The corrosion inhibition nature of Ginger affinale extract for the corrosion of mild steel in 0.5N $H_2SO_4$ was investigated using weight loss, electrochemical impedance and potentiodynamic polarization methods. The results revealed that Ginger affinale extract acts as a good corrosion inhibitor in 0.5N $H_2SO_4$ medium. The inhibition efficiency increased with an increase in inhibitor concentration. The inhibition could be attributed to the adsorption of the inhibitor on the steel surface.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop solid polymer electrolyte(SPE) for Li polymer battery. This paper describes temperature dependence of conductivity, impedance spectroscopy, electrochemical properties of PVDF/PAN electrolytes as a function of a mixed ratio. PVDF/PAN based polymer electrolyte films were prepared by thermal gellification method of preweighed PVDF/PAN, plasticizer and Li salt. The conductivity of PVDF/PAN electrolytes was 10-3S/cm. 20PVDF5PANLiCIO$_4$PC$\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte shows the better conductivity of the others. 20P7DF5PANLiCI$_4$PC$\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte remains stable up to 5V vs. Li/Li$\^$+/. Steady state current method and ac impedance used for the determination of transference numbers in PVDF/PAN electrolyte film. The transference number of 20PVDF5ANLICIO$_4$/PC $\sub$10//EC$\sub$10/ electrolyte is 0.48

  • The corrosion of the embedded steel rebars and the consequent deterioration of the reinforced concrete structure has become a challenging concern to the construction industries for the fiscal deficit. However, corrosion inhibitors are potential and being widely used for corrosion mitigation to solve such problems. This study has been focused on the mixed type of corrosion inhibitor where one component of the corrosion inhibitor is organic and another one is inorganic material. 0.1 (M) triethanolamine (TEA) and 0.01 (M) sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) have been mixed in distilled water to produce the mixed inhibitor. Studies of the steel rebar corrosion in chloride contaminated (3.5 wt.% NaCl) concrete pore (CCCP) solution has been conducted using different concentrations of corrosion inhibitor. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) method is involved to understand the corrosion behaviour of the steel rebars at different exposure durations.
