This paper presents the effects of an increase or a decrease of a power reserve by load flow calculations under the seasonal load patterns of each country for the future power shortages faced by the metropolitan areas or by the southeastern area of South Korea in North-East Asia. In this paper, the various cases of the power system interconnections in Far-East Asia are presented, and the resulting interconnected power systems are simulated by means of a power flow analysis performed with the PSS/E 28 version tool. Data for simulation were obtained from the 2-th long term plan of electricity supply and demand in KEPCO. The power flow map is drawn from simulated data and the comparative study is done. In the future, a power flow analysis will be considered to reflect the effects of seasonal power exchanges. And the plan of assumed scenarios will be considered with maximum or minimum power exchanges during summer or winter in North-East Asian countries.
This paper proposes the components of the energy management system (EMS) for optimum operation of renewable energy and associated energy storage system (ESS), the functions to be considered in designing, the analysis of operational effects, and finally the reduction of electricity costs. To accomplish the objectives, a lithium-ion battery system and an energy management system have installed in a PV system, and it presents the results analyzed with operation data for a year. To increase the system operation efficiency, we propose the effect that EMS is used to replace the demand power at the peak time with the charge power at the light load time, which suggests the influence of contributing to the charge benefit and load leveling according to the ESS tariff.

Recently, various energy efficiency optimization activities are ongoing globally by integrating conventional grids with ICT (Information and Communication Technology). In this sense, various smart grid projects, which power suppliers and consumers exchange useful informations bilaterally in real time, have been being carried out. The electric vehicle diffusion program is one of the projects and it has been spotlighted because it could resolve green gas problem, fuel economy and tightening environmental regulations. In this paper, the economics of V2G system which consists of electric vehicles and the charging infrastructure is evaluated comparing electric vehicles for V2G with common electric vehicles. Additional benefits of V2G are analyzed in the viewpoint of load leveling, frequency regulation and operation reserve. To find this benefit, electricity sales is modeled mathematically considering depth of discharge, maximum capacity reduction, etc. Benefit and cost analysis methods with the modeling are proposed to decide whether the introduction of V2G systems. Additionally, the methods will contribute to derive the future production and the unit cost of electric vehicle and battery and to get the technical and economic analysis.
This study investigates the application of supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) direct-cycle micro modular reactors (MMRs) in primary frequency control (PFC), which is a scenario characterized by significant load fluctuations that has received less attention compared to secondary load-following. Using a modified GAMMA + code and a deep neural network-based turbomachinery off-design model, the authors conducted an analysis to assess the behavior of the reactor core and fluid system under different PFC scenarios. The results indicate that the acceptable range for sudden relative electricity output (REO) fluctuations is approximately 20%p which aligns with the performance of combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGTs) and open-cycle gas turbines (OCGTs). In S-CO2 direct-cycle MMRs, the control of the core operates passively within the operational range by managing coolant density through inventory control. However, when PFC exceeds 35%p, system control failure is observed, suggesting the need for improved control strategies. These findings affirm the potential of S-CO2 direct-cycle MMRs in PFC operations, representing an advancement in the management of grid fluctuations while ensuring reliable and carbon-free power generation.
Fuel Cell cogeneration system is a promising technology for generating electricity and heat with high efficiency of low pollutant emission. We have been developed 5kW class fuel cell cogeneration system for commercial and residential application. The fuel processor is a crucial part of producing hydrogen from the fossil fuels such as LNG and LPG. The 5kW class high efficiency fuel processor consists of steam reformer, CO shift converter, CO preferential oxidation(PrOx) reactor, burner and heat exchanger. The one-stage CO shift converter process using a metal oxide catalyst was adopted. The efficiency of 5 kW class fuel processor shows 75% based on LHV. In addition, for the purpose of continuous operation with load fluctuations in the commercial system for residential use, load change of fuel processor was tested. Efficiency of 30%, 50%, 70% and 100% load shows 75%, 75%, 73% and 72%(LHV), respectively. Also, during the load change conditions, the product gas composition was stable and the outlet CO concentration was below 5 ppm. The Fuel processor operation was carried out in residential fuel cell cogeneration system with fuel cell stack under dynamic conditions. The 5kW class fuel processor have been evaluated for long-term durability and reliability test including with improvement in optimal operation logic.
Electricity and heat load profiles by use types on an hourly basis at the least are essential for assessing economic viability of new cogeneration and CES projects and for optimally operating existing cogeneration and CES facilities. We adopt a multilevel model to specify heat load profiles so as to utilize in a flexible manner the panel nature of our data on weather and heating/cooling use. Converting the multilevel model to the linear mixed-effects model, we estimate the model by panel FGLS. The estimated load profile model for each distinct use type accounts for the effects of temperature, humidity, each hour over the year, each day of the week, each type of legal holidays, and heating/cooling area on energy use. To save space, we feature in detail the heating profile of the household.
Power plant industry has been developed at high-capacity, high-technology, and innovation. Steam turbine became the most useful equipment that dominate more than 50% of all the world electricity production. And developed new materials of the turbine blade and extended length of the turbine last blade brought reform in steam turbine performance upgrade. In this paper, when do partial load driving in high-capacity steam turbine, optimum driving method found whether there is something. In operating steam turbine, there is a lot of loss from secondary wake and throttle of the 1st stage nozzle by the biggest leading factor that load fluctuation affects in high-pressure steam turbine performance. Effect of internal efficiency by 1 stage nozzle is the biggest here, but here fluid flow and flow analysis were not yet examined closely definitely. So, Analyzed design data and acceptance performance test result to applying subcritical pressure drum type 560 MW, supercritical-pressure once through type 500 MW, and 800 MW steam turbines actually. In conclusion, at partial load driving, partial arc admission(PAA) is more efficient than full arc admission(FAA) efficiency. This is judged by because increase being proportional with gross energy of stream that is pressure - available energy if pressure of stream that is flowed in to the turbine increases, available energy becomes maximum and turbine efficiency improves. Therefore, turbine performance is that preview that first stage performance fell if decline is serious in partial load because first stage performance changes according to load.

In this paper, available power generation on the road from renewable energy technologies on how to use the piezoelectric effect has been studied. A lot of vehicles on road that can generate electricity using renewable energy technology as part of the external shock to convert the load into electrical energy using piezoelectric effect piezoelectric generator can be applied to road space. Piezoelectric power harvesting using piezoelectric ceramics for the development of impact load characteristics were tested as function of various experimental design such as generator design and array of piezo-ceramic. To design the piezoelectric generator, the characteristics of piezoelectric ceremic were compared depending on the type of impact load as function of impact load, shock-absorbing.
As the electric vehicle (EV) market in South Korea grows, it is required to expand charging facilities to respond to rapidly increasing EV charging demand. In order to conduct a comprehensive facility planning, it is necessary to forecast future demand for electricity and systematically analyze the impact on the load capacity of facilities based on this. In this paper, we design and develop a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network model that predicts the daily peak electric load at each charging station using the EV charging data of KEPCO. First, we obtain refined data through data preprocessing and outlier removal. Next, our model is trained by extracting daily features per charging station and constructing a training set. Finally, our model is verified through performance analysis using a test set for each charging station type, and the limitations of our model are discussed.

A folding solar power system is a stand-alone system and is a structure with solar panels attached. It consists of supporting parts and folding parts for ease of movement. While the efficiency of solar panels is also important to produce electricity by maximizing the power efficiency of solar panels, the most important thing is structure stability. The folding solar power structure intended to be developed in this study is a collapsible structure that is easy to move and install into systems that can produce electricity from grid to independent. Since these structures are installed outdoors, wind loads, snow cover, etc. In this paper, the wind loads most affected by the folding solar power generation structure were obtained using the MeshFree Finite Element Method. MeshFree is a program that makes it easier for users to interpret by simplifying the mesh tasks required by an existing analysis. The analysis showed that the greater the angle of inclination of the wind to the ground, the greater the wind load. In addition, reliability was ensured by wind load testing.
