Zero Sequence Impedance of Yg-Yg Three Phase Core Type Transformer (Yg-Yg 3상 내철형 변압기의 영상분 임피던스 분석)

  • In this paper, zero sequence equivalent circuit of Yg-Yg three phase core-type transformer is analyzed. Many problems by iron core structure of the three phase transformer due to asymmetric three phase lines, which includes line disconnection, ground fault, COS OFF, and unbalanced load are reported in the distribution system. To verify a feasibility of zero sequence impedance of Yg-Yg type three phase transformer, fault current generation in the three phase core and shell-type Yg-Yg transformer is compared by PSCAD/EMTDC when single line ground fault is occurred. As a result, shell-type transformer does not affect the flow of fault current, but core-type transformer generate an adverse effect by the zero sequence impedance. The adverse effect is explained by the zero sequence equivalent circuit of core-type transformer and Yg-Yg type three phase core-type transformer supplies a zero sequence fault current to the distribution system.

Characteristic Comparison of C-type and H-type Solenoid RF Chip Inductors (C-type과 H-type 솔레노이드 RF칩 인덕터의 특성 비교)

  • 본 논문에서는 $1.62{\times}1.0{\times}0.88mm^3$ 크기의 C-type과 $1.58{\times}0.82{\times}0.94mm^3$ 크기의 H-type RF 칩 인덕터를 제작하고 그들의 고주파 특성을 비교하였다. 본 연구에서는 저손실 $Al_2O_3$ 코아 물질과 직경 $40{\mu}m$의 구리(Cu) 코일을 사용하였다. 권선수를 $2{\sim}14$회로 하여 인덕턴스(L), 품질계수(Q), 임피던스의 크기와 위상, 커패시턴스(C)를 HP4291B Impedance/Material Analyzer로 측정하였다. 10회 권선시 C-type은 55nH, H-type은 67nH, 14회 권선시 C-type은 100nH, H-type은 122nH 정도로 측정되었다. 실험 결과 H-type이 C-type보다 동일 권선수에 대하여 높은 인덕턴스와 높은 자기공진주파수(SRF)를 나타냄을 확인하였다. 또한 최대 품질계수는 두 형태가 거의 비슷한 값($55{\sim}87$)을 가짐을 관찰하였다. 따라서 H-type이 C-type보다 우수한 성질을 나타냄을 알 수 있다.

High Step-up DC-DC Converter by Switched Inductor and Voltage Multiplier Cell for Automotive Applications

  • This paper elaborates two novel proposed topologies (type-I and type-II) of the high step-up DC-DC converter using switched inductor and voltage multiplier cell. The advantages of these proposed topologies are the less voltage stress on semiconductor devices, low device count, high power conversion efficiency, high switch utilization factor and high diode utilization factor. We analyze the Type-II topologies operating principle and mathematical analysis in detail in continuous conduction mode. High-intensity discharge lamp for the automotive application can use the derived topologies. The proposed converters give better performance when compared to the existing types. Also, it is found that the proposed type-II converter has relatively higher voltage gain compared to the type-I converter. A 40 W, 12 V input voltage and 72 V output voltage has developed for the type-II converter and the performances are validated.

  • ZnO has intensively attracted interest for the next generation of short wavelength LEDs and semiconductor lasers. However, for the development and application of the devices based on this material, the fabrication of p-type ZnO thin films is pivotal. Generally, the process of preparation of ZnO is unavoidably accompanied by the natural donor ions such as interstitial Zn ions and oxygen vacancy ions that show n-type electrical property and make fabrication of p-type ZnO to be a hard problem. On this study, to realize stable high-quality p-type ZnO thin films, the undoped ZnO thin films were diffused with P in vapor state. The ZnO:P thin films showed high-quality p-type properties electrically and optically.

  • Bridge Type Cell structure informed that the efficiency is increased by about 30% compared to the conventional type has been investigated during addressing period. As a result, the addressing time is decreased by about 20% compared to the conventional type. And wall charge distribution was analyzed Quantitatively in three electrodes during addressing period.

  • The quench characteristics of flux-lock type high-Tc superconducting fault current limiters(SFCL) was investigated, $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin film was used as the current limiting elements of the flux-lock type SFCL. The quench characteristics of current limiting elements consisting of the flux-lock type SFCL was more improved than that of the resistive type SFCL.

  • In this paper, the fault current limiting characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL (superconducting fault current limiter) using magnetic application circuit were analyzed. The flux-lock type SFCL has the structure to install the magnetic application circuit, which can increase the resistance of HTSC ($high-T_C$ superconducting element comprising) the SFCL. To analyze the fault current limiting effect of the flux-lock type SFCL through the magnetic flux application circuit, the flux-lock type SFCL either with the magnetic flux circuit or without the magnetic flux circuit was constructed and the fault current limiting characteristics of the SFCL were compared each other through the short-circuit tests.

  • In this paper, the transformer type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with additionally coupled circuit was suggested and its peak fault current limiting characteristics due to the fault condition to affect the fault current were analyzed through the fault current limiting tests. The suggested transformer type SFCL is basically identical to the previous transformer type SFCL except for the additional coupled circuit. The additional coupled circuit, which consists of the magnetically coupled winding to the primary and the secondary windings together with another superconducting element and is connected in parallel with the secondary winding of the transformer type SFCL, is contributed to the peak fault current limiting operation for the larger transient fault current directly after the fault occurrence. To confirm the fault current limiting operation of the suggested SFCL, the fault current limiting tests of the suggested SFCL were performed and its effective peak fault current limiting characteristics were analyzed through the analysis on the electrical equivalent circuit.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide a comparison between the Line Start Permanent Magnet, Skeleton type Brushless DC, and the Snail-cam type Switched Reluctance Motor. These motors are compared under the same load characteristic as the cooling fan motor of a refrigerator. The comparison consists of speed, output power, efficiency, copper loss, and cost for three different motors. For the given application, the results provide an indication of the best machine suited with respect to performance and cost.
