Lifetime Temperature Rise Model for the Degradation of Electric Connections/Contacts (도체접속부 열화에 대한 수명온도상승 모델)

  • In this study in order to find out the trends and the residual lifetime for electric connections/contacts using infrared image camera, "lifetime temperature rise model" is theoretically proposed on the base of "lifetime resistance model" and to prove this theory, experiments have been performed for various kinds of electric connections/contacts. Two suggestions have been builded up or the "lifetime temperature rise model" ; one is the linear relationship between the temperature rise $\Delta K$ and contact resistance, and the other is the functional relationship between the temperature of electric connections/contacts and the operating time which ascribed in the "lifetime resistance model". From the experimental results, measured values were quite similar to the theoretical value so that two suggestions in "lifetime temperature rise model" were appeared to be correct.

  • Ozone is widely used to sterilize food and tap water because ozone is a strong oxidizer. To date, it has been difficult to dissolve a high concentration of ozone gas in water because the large size of the bubbles limits the contact area between the ozone gas and liquid water. The measurements of dissolved ozone can be used to control water quality and ozone dosage. Therefore the dissolved ozone measurement of most interest is that of residual ozone at the discharge point of a particular treatment chamber.

  • As aluminum becomes more widely used in power distribution systems, so the corrosion caused by bimetallic contacts of aluminum and copper becomes more serious problem. In particular, the poor contact of the commonly used compression type bimetal connections may bring about the disastrous interruption of the power supply resulted from the increased corrosion within the joints, which is accelerated by the permeation of water and electrolyte into the interface. In this paper, the corrosion characteristics of aluminum and copper are investigated to improve the reliability of Al-Cu connectons.

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of the polysilicon selfaligned bipolar transistor with 1.6\ulcorner epitaxy and SWAMI isolation technologies. This transistor has two levels of polysilicon. Also emitter and adjacent edge of polysilicon base contact of this PSA device are defined by the same mask, and emitter feature size is 2x4 \ulcorner. DC characteristic of the fabricated transistor was evaluated and analyzed for the SPICE input parameters. The minimum propagation delay time per gate of 330 ps at 1mW was obtained with 41 stage CML ring oscillator.

  • In the electrical railway, the tension ascension of contact wire is essential to speed up of train and current collection performance of catenary largely depends on the tension. The tension variation rate of the tensioning device used in existing line limits within 5%, and the tension variation rate of the spring-type tensioning device installed at the section where tensioning length is short bounds within 15%. So it is urgent for us to localize it for high speed line, which the tension variation rate is limited within 3%. Therefore in this study, a pulley-type tensioning device for high speed line is developed. To verify the performance of developed device, a performance test, overload test and failure test is carried out under the code of the Kyung-Bu High Speed line. And it is secured durability performance through a fatigue test.

  • In this paper, the details of electric traction voltages which are widely used for metro and mainline trains are presented. The problems encountered in catenaries, pressure of the pantograph pan, catenary contact cross sectional area, materials etc are well covered. Catenary height from the rail for main line, bridges, sheds etc is discussed. The catenary running details and switching of one catenary to another are explained. The dead zones in 3 phase grid as well as in DC are presented here. The pantograph structure, blades, shoes etc. for AC/DC EMUs are dealt. The schematic diagram for electrification systems used for railways are given and explained with typical electrical parameters of Indian Railways.

The Influence of Dry Treatments on the Surface Degradation and Dielectric Properties in Fiber Reinforced Plastics (건식 열화처리가 FRP의 표면 열화와 유전특성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this paper, we investigated the change of wettability, surface potential decay and dielectric properties caused by ultraviolet-treated, thermal-treated and discharge-treated FRP(fiber reinforced plastics) respectively for finding out the influence of dry treatments effected to electrical characteristics on the surface of polymer composites. For the change of wettability, the contact angle of thermal-treated specimen with the high temperature of $200^{\circ}C$ increased. But that of UV-treated and discharge- treated specimen decreased. The characteristic of surface potential decay shows the tendency of the remarkable decrease on UV-treated and discharge-treated specimens, but no difference on thermal-treated specimen compared with untreated one. Also, for the dielectric properties, it shows the increase at large on the treated specimens and especially, the remarkable increase on thermal-treated one.

  • 단락발전기를 이용하여 대전류 단락시험을 실시하는 시험 설비중 단락전류 투입시 정밀한 투입 위상각 제어와 주접점 접촉시 바운싱이 없는 투입개폐기 특성이 요구된다. 이러한 특성을 만족시키기 위하여 공압식, 모터식, 유압식등 여러 종류의 투입개폐기가 사용되고 있으며 Actuator와 주 접점 형상설계 및 조립기술에 의한 바운싱이 없는 제품 제작이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 정격전압 24 kV 단락전류 47 kA, 통전시간 0.5 s의 투입용량과 연속 반복 투입시 $\pm0.1$ ms의 오차특성을 가진 정밀급 유압식 투입개폐기의 동작특성과 핵심부품 조사 및 바운싱 제거를 위한 대책실시와 반복시험을 통하여 투입개폐기 특성에 대한 연구를 목적으로 한다.

  • This paper presents the AC electric railway system modeling using PSCAD/EMTDC program. This system model is composed of the scott-transformer the auto-transformer. the running rails. the protection wires, the feeders. the catenary and contact wires, etc. After obtaining the models of the fundamental elements describing the AC electric railway system and its behavior, we have analyzed and tested real traction power feeding system focused on the amplification of harmonic current to verify the proposed model. The simulation results from the proposed approach and the measurement data from the test are described in the paper.

  • A low voltage operated piezoelectric RF MEMS in-line switch has been realized by using silicon bulk micromachining technologies for advanced mobile/wireless applications. The developed RF MEMS in-line switches were comprised of four piezoelectric cantilever actuators with an Au contact metal electrode and a suspended Au signal transmission line above the silicon substrate. The measured operation dc bias voltages were ranged from 2.5 to 4 volts by varying the thickness and the length of the piezoelectric cantilever actuators, which are well agreed with the simulation results. The measured isolation and insertion loss of the switch with series configuration were -43dB and -0.21dB (including parasitic effects of the silicon substrate) at a frequency of 2GHz and an actuation voltage of 3 volts.
