  • Wireless power transfer via coupled magnetic resonances has been a hot research topic in recent years. In addition, the number of related devices has also been increasing. However, reverse signals transfer is often required in addition to wireless power transfer. The structure of the circuit for a wireless power transfer system via coupled magnetic resonances is analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of both parallel compensation and series compensation are listed. Then the compensation characteristics of the inductor, capacitor and resistor were studied and an appropriate compensation method was selected. The reverse signals can be transferred by controlling the compensation of the resistor. In addition, it can be demodulated by extracting the change of the primary current. A 3.3 MHz resonant frequency with a 100 kHz reverse signals transfer system platform was established in the laboratory. Experimental results demonstrate that wireless power and reverse signals can be transferred synchronously.

  • An analytic design guide was formulated for the design of 3-stage CMOS OP amp with the nested Gm-C(NGCC) frequency compensation. The proposed design guide generates straight-forwardly the design parameters such as the W/L ratio and current of each transistor from the given design specifications, such as, gain-bandwidth, phase margin, the ratio of compensation capacitance to load capacitance. The applications of this design guide to the two cases of 10pF and 100pF load capacitances, shows that the designed OP amp work with a reasonable performance in both cases, for the range of compensation capacitance from 10% to 100% of load capacitance.

  • From the viewpoint of an effective energy use, many method for reactive power compensation has been developed. Among of the reactive power compensation, this paper describes the relation of operation interpretation, filter, hysteresis width and switching time of current controlled PWM converter which has excellent reactive power compensation. This current controlled PWM convertor is excellent the view of reactive power compensation by current control method using hysteresis comparator method, but is required element of high response characteristics. Therefore this paper offers the series of data for system considering switching characteristics of switching element.

  • Anisotropic TMAH etching is key processing step for the fabrication of pendulum structure. During the etching, convex corners are attacked, and a proper compensating structure design is required when fabricating pendulum structures with sharp convex corner. In this paper, we present four compensation structures for convex corner compensation with 30% wt TMAH-water solution at $89\pm1^{\circ}C$ temperature, and observe the etched convex corner by optical microscope. we compare the result of calculations and experiments about four convex corner compensation patterns.

  • Importance of separation of a nonlinear dynamical system into nonlinear static part and linear dynamical part was insisted in designing a controller for the nonlinear system. We further proposed compensation techniques for oscillation of controlled variables caused by system time delay and compensation of steady state errors caused by modelling errors of the systems. The proposed principle of designing procedure and the compensation methods were discussed by applying them for temperature and level control of an actual tanked water system.

  • In this study, we propose a compensation method of raw LiDAR data with noise and noise filtering for signal processing of LiDAR sensors during the development phase. The raw LiDAR data include constant errors generated by delays in transmitting and receiving signals, which can be resolved by LiDAR signal compensation. The signal compensation consists of two stage. First one is LiDAR sensor calibration for a compensation of geometric distortion. Second is walk error compensation. LiDAR data also include fluctuation and outlier noise, the latter of which is removed by data filtering. In this study, we compensate for the fluctuation by using the Kalman filter method, and we remove the outlier noise by applying a Gaussian weight function.

  • This paper proposes a DC-link voltage variation compensation method for a 3-level single phase converter for high-speed trains. Since 3-level NPC(Neutral Point Clamped) type converters have the split DC-link causing the inherent problem of voltage fluctuations in the upper and lower capacitors, reducing the voltage difference between the top and bottom capacitors is required. In this paper, compensation time proportional to the voltage difference is added to PWM switching time to solve the voltage variation. The compensation time is obtained by a PI controller. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

  • Automatically tuned passive filters can improve power quality to a great extent in power systems. A novel three-phase shunt auto-tuned filter is designed to effectively compensate source current harmonics and to provide reactive power required by the non-linear load, which draws a highly reactive, harmonic-rich current from the supply. An artificial neural network (ANN) based controller selects filter component values in accordance with reactive power requirement and harmonic compensation. Traditional passive filters are permanently connected to the system and draw large amounts of source current even under light load conditions. By using auto-tuned filters, the passive filter components can be controlled according to load variations and, hence, draw only required source currents. The selection is done by the ANN with the help of a properly tuned knowledge base to provide instantaneous compensation using a digital controller.

  • Conventional single-phase series quasi Z-source voltage compensator can not compensate for voltage sag less than 50% that frequently occurs in the industrial field. In this study, single-phase series quasi Z-source voltage sag-swell compensator which can compensate the voltage variation of entire range is proposed. The proposed system is composed of two quasi Z-source AC-AC converters connected in series with output terminal stage. Voltage sag less than 50% could be compensated by the intersection switching control of the upper converter duty ratio and of the upper converter duty ratio. Also the compensation voltage and its flowchart for each compensation mode are presented for entire sag-swell region. To confirm the validity of the proposed system, a DSP(DSP28335) controlled experimental system was manufactured. As a result, the proposed system could compensate for the voltage sag/swell of 20% and 60%. Finally, voltage compensation factor and THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) according to voltage variation and load change were measured, and voltage quality shows a good results.
