The cure kinetics of a neat epoxy system and epoxy/silica composite were investigated by DSC analysis. A cycloaliphatic type epoxy resin was diglycidyl 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylate and curing agent was anhydride type. To estimate kinetic parameters, the Kissinger equation was used. The activation energy of the neat epoxy system was 88.9 kJ/mol and pre-exponential factor was 2.64×1012 min−1, while the activation energy and pre-exponential factor for epoxy/silica composite were 97.4 kJ/mol and 9.21×1012 min−1, respectively. These values showed that the silica particles have effects on the cure kinetics of the neat epoxy matrix.

A gasoline engine automobile uses high voltage generation of the ignition coil, igniting and burning mixed fuel in the combustion chamber, which drives the engine. When the electronic control unit intermits a current supplied to the power transistor, counter electromotive force with a low voltage is generated by self induction action in the ignition primary coil and a high voltage is induced by mutual induction action with the primary ignition coil in the second ignition coil. The high voltage is supplied to the ignition plug in the combustion chamber, causing a spark, igniting the compressed mixed fuel. If a very small defect occurs inside the insulating material when a voltage is applied in said ignition coil, the performance of the insulation material will get worse and breakdown by a partial discharge of corona discharge. Thus, in this experiment, we are to contribute to improve the performance and ensure the reliability of the ignition coil by investigating partial discharge characteristics according to the change of voltage and temperature when a voltage is applied to the specimen of the epoxy molding ignition coil.

In the complex insulation system that is used in extra high voltage(EHV) devices, according to the trend for electric power equipment of high capacity and reduction of its size, macro interfaces between two different bulk materials which affect the stability of insulation system exist inevitably. In this paper, the dielectric strength decrease of the macro interfaces between epoxy and ethylene propylene diene terpolymer(EPDM) was estimated by using the applied voltage to breakdown time characteristics. Firstly, the AC short time dielectric strength of specimens was measured at room temperature. Then, the breakdown time was measured under the applied constant voltage which is 70% of short time breakdown voltage. With these processes, the life exponent n was determined by inverse power law, and the long time breakdown voltage can be evaluated. The best condition of the interface was LOS(low viscosity(350 cSt) silicone oil spread specimen). When 30 years last on the specimens, the breakdown voltage was estimated 44% of the short time breakdown voltage.

In oriental medicine, meridian is pathway of bio-energy, and basic an object of diagnosis/therapy. But, in western medicine, meridian has been accepted as action pathway of nerve-endocrine-immune system. Acupuncture effect has been regarded as not effect by transmission of bio-energy but action or response by stimulation. In this paper, when an acupuncturist's bio-energy is passed on(non-insulation) and when is not(insulation), we analysed electric potential on meridian/non-meridian to verify effect of acupuncture therapy. In the results, when bio-energy isn't passed on, bio-potential is reacted to only the first of 4 times acupuncture operating. But when bio-energy is passed on, it is reacted to 4 times, and potential on meridian is higher than that of on non-meridian. Electric potential for same acupuncture operating is different on non/meridians, which implies that physiological construction and bio-energy transmission material is different respectively. When is extracting acupuncture method, potential is higher than that of injection one. It implies that extracting method is more effect than injecting one, in aspect of acupuncture therapy effect. Therefore, acupuncture therapy effect is verified as effect of response by acupuncturist's bio-energy transmission rather than that by only acupuncture stimulus.

The electrical/thermal stabilities and magnetic field controllability of a no-insulation (NI) high-temperature superconducting magnet are characterized by contact resistance between turn-to-turn layers, and the contact resistance characteristics are determined by properties of conductor surface and winding tension. In order to accurately predict the electromagnetic characteristics of the NI coil in a design stage, it is necessary to control the contact resistance characteristics within the design target parameters. In this paper, the contact resistance and critical current characteristics of a rare-earth barium copper oxide (REBCO) conductor were measured to analyze the effects of surface treatment conditions (roughness and oxidation level) of the copper stabilizer layer in REBCO conductor. The test samples with different surface roughness and oxidation levels were fabricated and conductor surface analysis was performed using scanning electron microscope, alpha step surface profiler and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Moreover, the contact resistance and critical current characteristics of the samples were measured using the four-terminal method in a liquid nitrogen impregnated cooling environment. Compared with as-received REBCO conductor sample, the contact resistance values of the REBCO conductors, which were post-treated by the scratch and oxidation of the surface of the copper stabilizer layer, tended to increase, and the critical current values were decreased under certain roughness and oxidation conditions.

Since SF6 gas was discovered in the early 1900s, it has been widely used as an insulation material for electrical equipment. While various indicators have been developed to diagnose oil-immersed transformers, there are still insufficient indicators for the diagnosis of gas-insulated transformers. When necessary, chemical diagnostic methods can be used for gas-insulated transformers. However, the field suitability and accuracy of those methods for transformer diagnosis have not been verified. In addition, since various types of decomposition gases are generated therein, it is also necessary to establish appropriate analysis methods to cover the variety of gases. In this study, a gas-insulated transformer was diagnosed through the analysis of decomposition gases. Reliability assessments of both simple analysis methods suitable for on-site tests and precise analysis methods for laboratory level tests were performed. Using these methods, a gas analysis was performed for the internal decomposition gases of a 154 kV transformer in operation. In addition, simulated discharge and thermal fault experiments were demonstrated. Each major decomposition gas generation characteristics was identified. The results showed that an approximate diagnosis of the inside of a gas-insulated transformer is possible by analyzing SO2, SOF2, and CO using simple analysis methods on-site. In addition, since there are differences in the types of decomposition gas generation patterns with various solid materials of the internal transformer, a detailed examination should be performed by using precise analysis methods in the laboratory.

Recently developed liquid silicone rubber (LSR) can be cured by platinum catalyzed additional hydrosilylation mechanism and has the advantage of no byproduct compared to traditional millable peroxide curing silicone rubber. We investigated the characteristics of dielectric breakdown of silicone rubber and adhesion properties between semi-conductive LSR and insulating LSR for high voltage application of pre-molded joint (PMJ). In order to understand the dielectric breakdown characteristics, we used the sheet samples and the paired type rogowski insert electrode system. The breakdown strength and adhesion strength of LSR (E-3) were superior to those of several silicone rubbers. Adhesion strength could be improved by curing at high temperature without post-curing process or enhanced by post-curing process. When LSR (E-3) was cured at $(150^{\circ}C{\times}10min$ semi-conductive )${\times}$ ($175^{\circ}C{\times}10min$ insulation), it showed the high breakdown strength with low standard deviation, and good adhesion strength. In this results, we could apply this process to the fabrication of PMJ without post-curing.

In order to characterize insulation properties of epoxy/micro-silica/nano-silicate composite (EMNC), long-term and short-term AC treeing tests were carried out undr non-uniform electric field generated between needle-plate electrodes. In a long-term test, a 10 kV (60 Hz) electrical field was applied to the specimen positioned between the electrodes with a distance of 2.7 mm in an insulating oil bath at $30^{\circ}C$, and a typical branch type electrical tree was observed in the neat epoxy resin and breakdown took place at 1,042 min after applying the 10 kVelectrical field. Meanwhile, the spherical tree with the tree length of $237{\mu}m$ was seen in EMNC-65-0.3 at 52,380 min (36.4 day) and then the test was stopped because the tree propagation rate was too low. In the short-term test, an electrial field was applied to a 3.5 mm-thick specimen at an increasing voltage rate of 0.5 kV/s until breakdown in insulating oil bath at $30^{\circ}C$ and $130^{\circ}C$, and the data was estimated by Weibull statistical analysis. The electrical insulation breakdown strength for neat epoxy resin was 1,763 kV/mm at $30^{\circ}C$, while that for EMNC-65-0.3 was 2,604 kV/mm, which was a modified value of 47%. As was expected, the breakdown strength decreased at higher test temperatures.

With the improvement of industrial society, the high quality electrical energy, simplification of operation and maintenance, ensuring reliability and safety are being required. This paper compares breakdown characteristics in $SF_6$ gas with $N_2/O_2$ Mixture gas($N_2:O_2=100$ : 0, 79 : 21, 60 : 40, 40 : 60) as using widely in High Voltage insulation equipment with the characteristics in different media which are focused on environmentally friendly gases. As an append result of research the results are fundamental data for electric insulation design of Distribution Power Facilities which will be studied and developed in the future. And we could make an environment friendly gas insulation material with mataining dielectric strength by $N_2/O_2$ Mixture gas which generates a lower lever of the global warming effect.
