생산설비에서 에너지효율 산정 (Energy Efficiency Calculations of the Production Facilities)

  • 원유가의 급등과 더불어 에너지자원에 대한 관심이 크게 증가 되었는데, 다양한 에너지관련 분야 중에서 먼저 선행되어야 하는 것은 기존의 설비에서 사용하고 있는 에너지가 효과적으로 사용되고 있는가를 판단하는 것이며, 이를 에너지 효율의 산정이라고 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 에너지의 주요 수요처중 하나인 제지 생산 플랜트의 한 공정에서 전력에너지와 열에너지에 대한 에너지효율을 계산하였다. 이때 전력에너지는 운전 중인 전동기의 부하에 따른 효율을 중심으로, 열에너지는 공정에서 입출력되는 열량을 중심으로 계산하였다. 즉 운전 중인 생산설비의 한 공정의 전력과 열에너지에 대해 각각 에너지효율을 산정하였으며 일부 에너지절감에 대한 방안도 제시하였다.

  • Heat-pump system has a special feature that provides heating operation in winter season and cooling operation in summer season with a single system. It also has a merit that absorbs and makes use of wastewater heat, terrestrial heat, and heat energy from the air. Because heat-pump system uses midnight electric power, it decreases power peak load and is very economical as a result. By using the property that energy source is converted to low temperature when losing the heat, high temperature energy source is used to provide heating water and low temperature energy source is used to provide cooling water simultaneously in summer season. This study made up a heat-pump system with 4 air heat sources and a water heat source and implemented the optimal operation algorithm that works with numbers of heat pumps to operate them efficiently. With the heat-pump system, we applied it to cooling and heating operation in summer season operation mode in a real building.

  • In order to analyze the heat transfer phenomena in the plasma flames, a mathematical model describing heat and fluid How in an electric arc has been developed and used to predict heat transfer from the arc to the steel bath in a DC Electric Arc Furnace. The arc model takes the separate contributions to the heat transfer from each involved mechanism into account, i.e. radiation, convection and energy transported by electrons. The finite volume method and a SIMPLE algorithm are used for solving the governing MHD equations, i.e., conservation equations of mass, momentum, and energy together with the equations describing a standard $k-\varepsilon$ model for turbulence. The model predicts heat transfer for different currents and arc lengths. Finally these calculation results can be used as a useful insight into plasma phenomena of the industrial-scale electric arc furnace. from these results, it can be concluded that higher arc current and longer arc length give high heat transfer.

  • In recent, there are tremendous requirements to improve the fuel economy of vehicle. For satisfaction of requirements, Hybrid Electric Vehicle or other technologies are suggested and implemented. However, it should be noted that almost 35% energy loss is occurred in the shape of exhaust gas as ever. For increase the efficiency of vehicle, it is certain that the exhaust gas energy should be recover, and generate energy. In previous studies, the technologies such as turbo-compound, thermoelectric and rankine cycle are suggested to recover the exhaust heat energy in vehicle. But, they focus on the conventional vehicle or parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle. Series Hybrid Electric Vehicle has advantage that the engine and drive shaft are de-coupled. It means that the engine can be operated in high efficiency area regardless with vehicle states. Therefore, if rankine cycle is applied to series hybrid electric vehicle, operating condition of that becomes almost steady. So, in this study, theoretical analysis on the efficiency of rankine cycle applied to series hybrid electric city bus is carried and the energy recovered from exhaust gas during vehicle drive cycle is calculated.

실내 난방이 전기 자동차 주행 성능에 미치는 영향 조사 (Investigation of Electric Vehicle Performance Affected by Cabin Heating)

  • 기존 내연기관에 비해 전기자동차가 가지는 한계 중 하나는 에너지 밀도가 상대적으로 낮은 배터리로 인한 짧은 주행거리이며, 겨울철 실내 난방을 위하여 전기 히터 사용 시, 전기 소모량이 30%이상 증가하는 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 전기 히터보다 에너지 효율이 우수한 히트펌프를 이용하여 난방 시, 전기 자동차의 주행성능 변화를 조사하였다. 일차원 해석 프로그램인 AMESim Software를 이용하여 전기자동차의 구동시스템 및 히트펌프의 해석모델을 개발하였고, 해석 결과 전기 히터를 히트펌프로 대체하면, 배터리 소모량이 약 50% 감소하여 그 만큼의 주행거리를 증가시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 전기자동차 난방을 위한 히트펌프의 장점을 입증하였으며, 향후 전기 자동차 난방 대책의 비전을 제시하는데 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

  • 최근 물류센터는 대형화 첨단화에 따른 다양한 설비 및 장비의 도입으로 전기에너지 소비가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 물류센터의 전기에너지 사용 현황 및 소비 특성을 정량적으로 분석하고, 효율을 평가하기 위한 전기에너지 표준소비량을 추정하는 모형을 구축하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 제시된 모형은 물류센터의 온도요인이 전기에너지 소비에 큰 영향을 미치는 특성을 효과적으로 반영하기 위하여 열역학 이론을 도입하였다. 모형은 물류센터 벽면의 열전도, 출입문 열대류 및 취급물품의 열 손실로 구성된 냉동기 운용에너지 부문과 물류활동을 위한 기계설비의 전력소모 부문으로 구성된다. 모형은 또한 물류센터 운영자가 에너지 소비 효율을 평가하고 개선전략을 수립하는 것을 지원할 수 있도록 다양한 설명변수들을 포함한다. 실제 물류센터의 에너지 소비량을 기반으로 본 연구에서 개발된 모형의 적용성이 평가된다.

미활용 에너지원으로서의 지하철 배열이용에 관한 연구 (Research on using the exhausted heat from subway tunnel as unused energy)

  • Researches on unused energy are being continued because of the limited fossil fuel and the destruction of environment. Therefore this study was peformed as follows. The collectable amount of exhausted heat for an air-conditioning was calculated by the subway thermal environment prediction program. And the electric power needed by conventional heat source equipments was compared with one by unused heat source equipments when the exhausted heat was used by heat pump in heating and hot water supplying. The results are summarized as follows; 1) Forced ventilation should be conducted to keep optimal temperature in subway tunnel in summer as well as in winter. According to the simulation, temperature in tunnel was higher than that on the ground in summer when the forced ventilation was conducted only in winter. 2) Ventilating time should be calculated out to the optimal condition for not only saving power of ventilation fan but reusing exhausted heat. By the simulation, it is certain that the exhausted heat should be eliminated in air-conditioning time. 3) The use of exhausted heat source heat pump could save 8% of electric power per hour in comparison with existing heat pump. It was based on a present heat generation and traffic for ventilating time of general air-conditioning, but could be different by ventilating time. 4) As the traffic increases up to 1.5 or 2 times, electric power consumption of the conventional heat pump increases to 11% or 13.5% per mean hour in comparison with that of the exhausted heat source heat pump, though all-day ventilation.

하이브리드 제습냉방시스템의 성능평가 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation of a Hybrid Desiccant Cooling System)

  • Improvement in the energy efficiency has been studied of the desiccant cooling system by applying a vapor compression type heat pump to modify the system into a hybrid system. The cycle simulation was performed and the results were compared between a reference desiccant cooling system composed of a desiccant rotor, a sensible rotor and a regenerative evaporative cooler, and a hybrid desiccant cooling system with the sensible rotor being replaced by a heat pump. Though the electric consumption increases as much as the compressor power consumption, the total cooling capacity increases and the thermal energy input decreases by the addition of the heat pump. Therefore, the total energy efficiency can be improved if the increase in the electric consumption can be compensated with the increase in the cooling capacity and the decrease in the thermal energy input. The results showed that the total energy efficiency is optimized at a certain heat pump capacity. When the heat from the CHP plant is used for the thermal energy input, the energy consumption of the hybrid system is reduced by 20~30% compared with the reference system when the heat pump shares 30~40% of the total cooling capacity.

  • Effects of operating variables on temperature profile and performance of 3 MWth chemical looping combustion system were estimated by mass and energy balance analysis based on configuration and dimension of the system determined by design tool. Air reactor gas velocity, fuel reactor gas velocity, solid circulation rate, and solid input percentage to fluidized bed heat exchanger were considered as representative operating variables. Overall heat output and oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas from the air reactor increased but temperature difference decreased as air reactor gas velocity increased. Overall heat output, required solid circulation rate, and temperature difference increased as fuel reactor gas velocity increased. However, overall heat output and temperature difference decreased as solid circulation rate increased. Temperature difference decreased as solid circulation rate through the fluidized bed heat exchanger increased. Effect of each variables on temperature profile and performance can be determined and these results will be helpful to determine operating range of each variable.
