분산전원과 ESS를 고려한 전기 자동차 충전 기법 개발 (Development of EV Charging Scheme Considering Distributed Generation and Energy Storage System)

  • Many countries concern about environmental problems. Therefore, they have made regulation for mandatory reduction of greenhouse gases. Electric Vehicles(EVs) are one of the most effective counterproposals for it. EVs are usually charging for it by using actual distribution system of the Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO). However, it could cause adverse effects such as increase of the power demand and voltage variation on the distribution system. To reduce adverse effects for demand power side, in this paper, charging for EVs by using PV(Photovolatic Power Generation) connected with ESS(Energy Storage System) are modeled by using Electro Magnetic Transient Program(EMTP). And then, the simulation results are compared with EVs that are connected to the distribution system of KEPCO for using charge.

Operation characteristics of a fault current limiter by high speed interrupter and a superconducting element

  • Due to continuous increase of electric power consumption, couple of resolutions for improving accuracy in power system like line separation are being studied. The increase of the power demand can cause problems such as supply difficulties of the electricity and broadband outages, failure, etc. When a fault occurs in the power system, a fault current also increases. Fault current creates problems like reduction of lifespan and failure on the power system. In order to resolve these problems, the reduction of initial fault current using the characteristics of superconducting element was applied to fault current limiter. We applied the system to high speed fault current limiter. We found that the superconducting element effectively reduced initial fault current and the fault current was limited by changing operation of high speed interrupter.

  • The electric vehicle market has increased rapidly in recent years. Established global automakers have announced that electric cars will be developed and distributed. Furthermore, current electric cars are not merely breezes, instead, they are the mainstream of automobiles. However, high prices, short mileage, and long charge times are the main obstacles to the spread of electric vehicles. To solve these problems, the competition for technology development for the expansion of electric vehicles worldwide intensifies because of the improvements in mileage, price reduction, and expansion of charging infrastructure. In this paper, the trends in the development of key technologies for electric vehicles in overseas markets and the present strategic goals for the development of key technologies for electric vehicles in Korea will be identified.

A Practical Exciter Model Reduction Approach For Power System Transient Stability Simulation

  • Explicit numerical integration methods for power system transient stability simulation require very small time steps to avoid numerical instability. The EXST1 exciter model is a primary source of fast dynamics in power system transients. In case of the EXST1, the required small integration time step for entire system simulation increases the computational demands in terms of running time and storage. This paper presents a practical exciter model reduction approach which allows the increase of the required step size and thus the method can decrease the computational demands. The fast dynamics in the original EXST1 are eliminated in the reduced exciter model. The use of a larger time step improves the computational efficiency. This paper describes the way to eliminate the fast dynamics from the original exciter model based on linear system theory. In order to validate the performance of the proposed method, case studies with the GSO-37 bus system are provided. Comparisons between the original and reduced models are made in simulation accuracy and critical clearing time.

  • With the advent of high technologies such as the 4th Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence and big data, efforts are being made to solve urban problems and improve the quality of life by applying new technologies in the smart city field. In addition, as carbon neutrality has emerged as an important issue due to global warming, smart city energy platform technologies such as urban energy management, efficiency improvement, and carbon reduction are in the spotlight. In order to effectively manage urban energy, energy resource information such as electricity, water, gas, hot water, heating, etc. must be collected from the management system of various energy utilities and managed on the central platform. The centrally integrated data is delivered to external city management systems that require city energy information through an energy platform. This study developed a CIM profile for smart city energy monitoring required to provide energy data to external systems. Electric data model were designed using the CIM class of IEC 61970, and water, gas, and heat data model were designed in compliance with the UML-based design ideas of IEC 61970.

표준화된 알루미늄 전동차의 개발 (Development of the Standardized Aluminum Electric Motor Car)

  • In this paper, design and construction process for the standardized electric motor car according to standard specification is described. Aluminum extrusion profiles and power and control system made domestically are used in the electric motor car. Also, plug-sliding door system for noise reduction and automatic train control system are developed and applied. Through the development of the electric motor car, most electric and control systems can be substituted by domestic standard systems, and safety and reliability of electric motor cars can be secured.

  • A risk informed approach to relax AOTs and STIs of RPS/ESPAS in technical specifications of kori units 3, 4 was performed in this paper. With the proposed AOTs and STIs, system unavailabilities and core damage frequency were quantified using PSA model. The results shoe that core damage frequency is slightly increased by extending AOTs and STIs but negligible. As considering the benefits such as reduction of plant transients and man power for test and maintenance, the relaxation of AOTs/STIs of RPS/ESFAS is justified

  • Becoming effective on Kyoto protocol, reduction of greenhouse gas is an urgent concern of our world. Transportation, depending on fossil fuel, is required to transfer higher effiency and green tech. oriented one. Electric Vehicle-EV-is take attention with its ability not only to reduce CO2 emission in transportation, but also to support load levelizing, spinning reserve, increase power quality on microgrid. This paper presents the recent policy for EV diffusion and the effects on power system demand and local system power quality.

  • 철도 시스템의 전력 소비를 줄이기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에서 급속충전방식 무가선 전동차 시스템은 철도 분야에서 매우 효율적인 에너지 절감 기술로 주목 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 ESS를 이용한 급속충전 무가선 전동차 시스템을 소개하고 현재의 도시철도 전기요금 산정방식에 대하여 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 급속 충전 무가선 전동차 시스템 적용 가능한 두 가지 전기요금 저감 방안(기본요금을 저감하는 방식(Case 1)과 전력량요금을 저감시키는 방식(Case 2))을 제안하였다. 제한하는 방식의 타당성 확인을 위해 현재 운영 중인 전동차 시스템(도시철도 2호선)의 전기요금과 비교하여 비용 경제성을 평가하였다.

신재생 에너지원 활용을 위한 어선 전력계통 분석 및 모델링 (Analysis and Modeling of Fishing Boat's Power Network for using Renewable Energy Source)

  • A modeling method of electric power network inside a fishing boat less than 5 tons is proposed for its high-energy efficiency with renewable energy sources. The power network inside the fishing boat consists of a diesel engine, a starter motor, an alternator, battery packs, and electric loads, which are connected in parallel. To obtain proper power network model, the voltage -current characteristics of the electric components are considered to develop elaborate electrical models under several load conditions. Measured data of the battery and alternator current include noise. By using an average method, the AC components from the power network of the fishing boat can be reduced, which is verified by KCL rule. Using the proposed power network model, the power generation of the alternator and the reduction of diesel consumption in the boat's engine are predictable under various operating conditions. The validity of the proposed methodology is verified by comparing simulation results with experimental measurements using statistical inferences.
