전기차 배터리 소모량 분석모형 개발 및 실증 (Development and Empirical Validation of an Electric Vehicle Battery Consumption Analysis Model)

  • In popular tourist destinations such as Jeju and Gangwon, electric rental cars are increasingly adopted. However, sudden battery drain due to weather conditions can pose safety issues. To address this, we developed a battery consumption analysis model that considers resistive energy factors such as acceleration, rolling resistance, and aerodynamic drag. Focusing on the effects of ambient temperature and wind speed, the model's performance was evaluated during an empirical validation period from November to December 2023. Comparing predicted and actual state of charge (SoC) across different routes identified ambient temperature, wind speed, and driving time as major sources of error. The mean absolute error (MAE) increased with lower temperatures due to reduced battery efficiency. Higher wind speeds on routes 1 and 6 resulted in larger errors, indicating the model's limitation in considering only tailwinds for aerodynamic drag calculations. Additionally, longer driving times led to higher actual SoC than predicted, suggesting the need to account for varying driver habits influenced by road conditions. Our model, providing more accurate SoC predictions to prevent battery depletion incidents, shows high potential for application in navigation apps for electric vehicle users in tourist areas. Future research should endeavor to the model by including wind direction, HVAC system usage, and braking frequency to improve prediction accuracy further.

  • This paper presents a driving method of 3-phase 4-poles SRM(switched reluctance motor) drived by switching angle control. In this study, the switching angle is determined from approximated analysis and computer simulation by using MATLAB for high efficiency according to the speed and torque required by load, and then microcontroller controls the switching angle of asymmetrical inverter in SRM driver. Also, we experiment the maximum forque driving and maximum power driving by controlling switching angle available to electric vehicle.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the noise level and the noise source for domestic trains. We measured and analyzed the interior noise, the rolling noise and the engine noise at Honam line(Seodaejeon-Jangseong) for passenger and power cars. The noise level is below 69㏈A for Seamaeul PMC(Powered Motor Car) coachs, below 65㏈A for Seamaeul and Mukungwha coachs, over 80㏈A for the driver's room of PMC and diesel-electric locomotives.

  • In this pager, we present IGBT VVVF inverters as a 1C1M propulsion system for electric car. This inverters are composed of high power IGBT's and controlled by compact control units. The control unit performs full digital control by using 32bit DSP and microconteroller. By using CAN-bus, high speed network is constructed within tow control units. The stack is simplified and optimized by using plate bus and IGBT driver units of hybrid-type.

  • The objective of this paper is the development of the forward-looking dynamic simulation model of a hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) for a fuel economy study. The specification of the vehicle is determined based on two factors, engine peak power to curb weight ratio and specific engine power. The steady state efficiency models of the powertrain components are explained in detail. These include a spark ignition direct injection(SIDI) engine, an integrated starter alternator(ISA), and an infinitely variable transmission(IVT). The paper describes the integration of these models into a forward facing dynamic simulation diagram using the AMESim environment. Appropriate vehicle and driver models have been added and described. The controller was designed in Simulink and was combined with the physical powertrain model by the co-simulation interface. Finally, the simulation results of the HEV are compared with those of a baseline vehicle in order to demonstrate the fuel economy potential. Results for the vehicle speed error and the fuel economy over standard driving cycles are illustrated.

  • In this study, we proposed a novel concept of electric sun visor comprising a dark, see-through sun shade material that ensures unimpaired driver's vision with continuous control of the shade position. The shade extending from the windshield base along its surface may be subjected to severe vibration during driving unless the design parameters are carefully selected. A prototype was tested to collect acceleration data during driving. Based on the test data, an ADAMS dynamics model was validated. The mechanism of sun visor was optimized to minimize vibration based on the dynamics model, experimental design, and response surface method.

  • Electric power steering(EPS) has many attentions such as fuel consumption improvement, thus it has been widely adopted for automotive application in recent years. In the EPS system, torque vibrations are directly transferred through the steering wheel to the hands of the driver. Hence, the design of PM motors for the EPS should be performed in order to reduce torque ripples including cogging torque. In this paper, Surface mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(SPMSM) is designed to reduce torque ripples and cogging torque at a same time for the EPS propulsion and the design results are verified with the experimental ones.

  • This paper presents design and implementation of the PCU(150 kVA 3-Phase PWM Inverter for Electric Vehicles). For Implementation of the PCU, it is consist with Case, Connectors, IGBT module for PWM switching, DC-capacitor for dc-source, resolver for sensing of speed & position, and PCB board for control & gate-driver. Also, for the purpose of stable operation of the PCU in vehicle with variable torque condition in motor, current control scheme based on torque-map are developed. According to real-car test mode, the prototype of proposed the PCU is verified with performance and stability. Thus, design and implement of the PCU are discussed, and experimental results are presented in this paper.

  • 전기에너지를 기계에너지로 변환하는 기존의 브러시 있는 직류모터보다 고효율, 저소음, 제어용이성, 고내구성 특징을 가지는 브러시 없는 직류(BLDC: Brushless Direct Current)모터의 응용분야의 확대로 지속적으로 성장하는 BLDC 모터시장에 대응하기 위한 에너지 절감형 BLDC 모터구동시스템 기술개발이 절실히 요구되는 실정이다. 이에 따라, 본고에서는 일반차량 및 PHEV(Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle)/EV(Electric Vehicle) 등 그린자동차용, 에어컨, 세탁기, 냉장고 등 그린백색 가전용, 산업용 건조기, ATM, 자판기 등 그린산업 기기용 BLDC 모터에 적용할 수 있는 에너지 절감기능이 우수한 BLDC 모터, BLDC 모터구동회로, 고전압 파워소자구동회로, 고전압 파워소자로 구성된 BLDC 모터구동시스템 기술동향에 대해 논의하고자 한다.
