  • A disk rotor dynamic analysis program called by DR. DAP is developed for disk drive spindle systems to analyze dynamic characteristics in operation and to estimate the effects of excitation sources. It is applicable to design for stabilization and to select parts of disk drive spindle systems. The disk drive spindle system in this program is modeled as a flexible shaft with multiple flexible disks, which is supported by bearings and driven by electric motor, and its complicated coupled vibration characteristics are analyzed by using a substructure synthesis technique with the assumed-modes method. All the coupled modes of interest can be well predicted by the example of a three disk hard disk drive with the three tuning parameters. It is also shown that, with the introduction of the excitation sources associated with the defects of ball bearing systems, the magnetic unbalance of spindle motor, the program can well predict the stability of the system, i.e., the possibility of resonance.

A Power Control System for the Rod Drive Coil of Control Element Drive Mechanism in Pressurized Water Reactor

  • In this paper, we propose a new type of power control system for the rod drive coil of the CEDM of the PWR NPP in order to supply more reliable DC power The electrical modelling of the controlled rod drive coil was done by referring related documentations. The design of the proposed system is based on this electric81 model satisfying the existing specification. A high power DC-DC converter scheme is adopted utilizing the SMPS technique in the design of the proposed system. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed system, an experimental system with the capability of 3.2 K Watt was set up for a rod with four cores and some computer simulations and experimentations were carried out. The result shows a very similar tracking performance with that of the existing system to the driving command. As a result of this, the proposed method can be applied to the power control system for the rod drive coil of the CEDM of the PWR NPP.

  • This paper studies the scope and text summary of international standards related to adjustable speed d.c. drive systems, especially IEC 61800-1 and IEC 61136-1. IEC 61800-1 applies to general purpose adjustable speed d.c. drive systems which include the power conversion, control equipment, and also a motor or motors. This standard applies to power drive systems connected to line voltages up to 1kV a.c., 50Hz or 60Hz. IEC 61136-1 provides alternative methods for specifying ratings for semiconductor power convertors for adjustable speed electric drive systems, particularly for d.c. motor drives.

다중펄스 드라이브에 의한 전기추진선박의 고조파 저감 (Harmonic Reduction of Electric Propulsion Ship by Multipulse Drive)

  • 전기추진선박에서 해결해야 할 중요한 문제점의 하나는 전력변환시에 발생되는 전류 및 전압파형에 포함된 고조파 성분에 의한 손실과 토크리플이다. 이를 제거하기 위해서 많은 방식들이 연구되고 있으며 본 논문에서는 상천이 변압기를 갖는 다중펄스 드라이브를 사용하여 정류된 직류파형을 개선함으로서 전류 및 전압파형에 포함되는 고조파 성분을 감소시키는 방식을 사용하였다. 또한, 그 유효성을 입증하기 위해서 6펄스 및 12펄스 드라이브를 각각 전력변환장치로 사용하였으며 현재 대형 선박에서 사용중인 6000[kW]의 유도전동기를 추진전동기로 채택하여 시뮬레이션을 행하였다. 다중펄스 드라이브에 의한 고조파 저감은 발전기 출력측의 전류파형과 추진전동기 입력측의 전압 파형에 포함된 총고조파 왜형율을 평가하였으며 또한, 고조파에 의한 전동기측의 영향은 추진전동기의 토크리플을 측정하여 비교 분석하였다.

  • In this paper, a 2-phase feeder system for wireless vehicle charging is investigated, which generates moving magnetic field with nearly constant magnitude using 2-phase currents. A moving field is very useful to magnetizing pickups mounted on underneath of electric vehicles.

  • Recently, many types of electric vehicles including a heavy duty vehicle have been developed and released because of the better fuel economy and less gas products. In this study, research about an electric bus which utilizes the wheel motor drive system was conducted. The wheel motor is a motor connected to the wheel directly only with a simple gear so that the developer can utilize the space efficiently and the whole system efficiency will be better because of simple structure. However, because it is different from former types of vehicles which use the differential gear, the development of the integrated control logic is required in order to meet the vehicle stability and driving performance. The developed control logic is composed with direct yaw moment control, regenerative braking control and slip control logics. It is compared to the control logics which does not consist of direct yaw moment control and slip control when the vehicle is exposed in tough situations. For the unification of the control logic, a few maps were developed and applied to determine the output torque of each motor according to the driving status. As a result, it is shown that the developed control logic is more safe and well follow the target speed than the other control logic applied simulations.

자작형 하이브리드카의 제작 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture and Control of a Self Manufacturing Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.
