The research for the application of polymer support insulator used in DC railway system (직류전기철도에서의 고분자 지지애자 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The use of polymer insulator has increased all over the world. As of 2000's KEPCO has used it fully since they introduced it in early 1990's. In Korea it is very widely used by KORAIL which uses AC 25 kV system in the ground electric car line. And It is also used in tunnel electric car line to support AT feeder line. But it has not been used in the section of DC 1500 V. In case of DC 1500 V electric railway system It is has been developed by research institutes by means of R&D projects since 2008. The user cleans porcelain insulators regularly by water because of dusts and pollution. In case of polymer insulators It is very easy to be made dirty by pollution because of the material properties and hard to be cleaned by cleansing. In accordance with these reasons It is worried about deterioration. This paper deals with anticipating problems when we apply it to DC electric railway system and the procedure for testing polymer support insulator.

  • In recent years, with the growing interest in electric vehicles, the development of a Neighborhood Electronic Vehicle (NEV) made for urban driving is accelerating. Existing NEVs are set to ~0.3 - 0.35 with more emphasis on performance rather than minimizing air resistance. In this paper, a NEV with a streamlined car body is proposed. The shape of dolphins and sharks was applied to the car body to minimize the air resistance generated when driving. Also, the performance of the vehicle was estimated by calculating the traction force and the roll couple, etc. To check the drag coefficient of the car body, finite element analysis software (COMSOL Multiphysics) was used. The frame of the vehicle is divided into the forward and the rear parts. Carbon pipe is used for the frame by MIG welding. The car body of the vehicle was fabricated by forming carbon fiber. This study confirmed the general possibility of using NEVs through driving experiments.

  • This paper presents a high speed ethernet communication and depulication method of communication to prevent decrease of reliability that was generated by high speed communication. Thus communication reliability was improved and this paper was considered that if any physical breakdown of line of communication occurred, other line of communication could operate collect. This paper used Flash memory for setting storage of backup data at Electric Car that have an humidity and a temperature and an impact. also improved reliability and besides matching data format to windows data format realized to confirm application program at PC or note book computer.

  • New locomotives 8100 & series 8200, based on the BR152 of German railway are suitable for heavy-duty freight traffic as well as for passenger transport. This electric locomotive had applied by trial petition way and 57 car is operating in mainline and industrial line until now. As matter of fact, this has a purpose to help designing and manufacturing the new electric locomotive in these day when almost all the line is changing into the electric fire line. This thesis has a purpose to check whether the actual simulation value properly apply and meet the designing value, comparing the result of the simulation for the performance of developed locomotive with the result of the type test which can be proceed in actual locomotive in korea (evaluating both the design value and the performance of the real locomotive).

Prediction of the Noise Level inside Metro Electric Cars (통근형 전동차의 객실 내 소음수준예측)

  • This paper deals with a method to predict the noise level inside metro electric cars running a single-line tunnel at the speed of 80km per hour using ray tracing method, a kind of ray acoustics generally used for a high-frequency and air-born noise analysis. The interior of the car including a under-frame, seats, side doors, end doors, door-pockets, side panels, end panel, a roof panel and so on is modeled. And in order to describe the noise power coming inside, artificial noise sources are designated using sound transmission loss data of each section measured from simple tests and external noise level. The noise level inside the car is calculated and its properties are investigated. The results satisfy the criteria on noise level inside the car.

  • This paper estimates the electric field effect near 765[kV] AC double transmission line with numerical data. The induced voltage and current of a human and car under who kinds of phase arrangement are calculated when each of two objects is insulated or grounded. When the calculated results of the low-reactance and superposition phase arrangement are compared, it is proved that the induced voltage and current of the former are about 30 [%] smaller than that of the latter. The induced current of a human and car are less than 0.5[mA] which is about 10[%] less than that of the American National Standard Code. Also the induced voltage and current of dead lines by other live lines are calculated. Finally the effective number and position of shield wires to reduce the field in ground level are considered. charge simulation method and surface charge method are used to simulate the 2 or 3 dimensional transmission line model respectively.

  • Improvement projects has been progressed for railway electrification and double track line in the conventional line as well as high speed line for the high speed and large transportation capability of railway. Especially, many variable operation plans are possible such as interaction between high speed line and conventional line and operation of tilting train due to the electrification of the conventional line. Railway electrification is more energy efficient and environmentally-friendly, but it has some problems such as an enormous initial construction and maintenance costs and electrical accidents. Therefore, the more intensive research will be progressed about railway electrification effectiveness for the continuous electrification project. So, we analyzed railway electrification effectiveness about the energy side using annual operation data of electric car and diesel car. The energy side was divided into energy costs and national energy consumption for analyzing electrification effectiveness about entire line and specific line. We verified advantage of energy costs and national energy consumption in this paper and this result will contribute to the progress of the continuous electrification project and the more efficient operation ways in electrification line

  • Recently, various measures have been discussed for overcoming depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution. One of the measures is electric vehicles. But electric vehicles has some limitations from high cost of battery and low efficiency, so operation distance of electric cars is limited. Also there are difficulties that charging lines should be connected by an electric car whenever it charges. Thus, many studies have been conducted to overcome the limitation using conventional batteries of electric vehicles. As a result, the OLEV(On-Line Electric Vehicle) was developed. But the OLEV system is some limitations. The OLEV system causes power quality problems when it charges. Power quality problem cannot be ignored because OLEV systems are closely connected by distribution grids. In this paper, the OLEV system is designed by using PSCAD/EMTDC, and the power quality is measured and evaluated. Power quality is divided by two cases; harmonics and high-frequency. Harmonics were evaluated according to IEEE Std. 519-1992. But the evaluation of High-frequency could not take it because there was no standard. For this reason, the data measured by OLEV system was compared with the EN50065 regulation.
