유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 환경 하에서 효율적인 에너지 절약형 프로토콜에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Energy Saving Protocol in Ubiquitous Sensor Network)

  • 기존의 센서 네트워크 연구들은 센서 자체가 가지는 에너지 측면만 강조하였다. 그러나 실제 센서 네트워크를 구성하였을 경우 특정 센서의 많은 활용으로 인해 센서 네트워크의 부분 단절을 초래한다. 이는 결국 센서네트워크가 오랜 시간 효율적으로 운영되지 못하는 단점이 되어 오히려 특정 센서 에너지 효율성이 센서 네트워크의 효율성을 저하시키는 결과를 초래하였다. 센서 네트워크들이 클러스터로 구성되었거나 하나의 큰 네트워크로 구성되어 있는 경우에도 센서의 에너지 효율성을 강조하기 때문에 결국 센서 네트워크의 단절을 회피할 수 없다. 따라서 센서 네트워크를 구성하는 모든 센서들을 고루 사용함으로써 센서 네트워크의 센서들이 단절을 회피하도록 하여 센서 네트워크의 수명을 연장할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 센서네트워크를 구성하는 프로토콜로 구성된 센서 네트워크의 에너지를 효율적으로 관리하여 센서 네트워크의 단절을 방지함으로써 구성된 센서 네트워크가 오랜 시간 유지되는 프로토콜을 제안한다.

  • This paper proposes the cost analysis on the energy efficient equipment when this equipment is participated in the demand-side bidding. Conventional demand-side bidding is exercised through load re-distribution. However if this load reduction is exercised by the use of high efficient equipment, its effect will be assumed to be more economical. This paper analyses this cost-benefit effect of high efficient equipment in the demand-side bidding.

Metabolic Components of Energy Expenditure in Growing Beef Cattle - Review -

  • A large portion of total energy expenditure associated with ruminant livestock production goes towards maintenance. Approximately 55% of whole body energy use is consumed by visceral tissues (including internal organs) with the majority of this going to the liver and gastrointestinal tract. Muscle and adipose tissues consume about 27% of total body energy expenditure. Metabolic components within the viscera responsible for the majority of energy consumption include ion transport, protein turnover, substrate cycling, and urea synthesis (liver). Within muscle tissue of growing animals ion transport and protein turnover account for most of the energy expenditure. Protein synthesis consumes approximately 23% of whole body energy use and visceral tissues account for proportionally more of whole body protein synthesis than skeletal muscle. Research efforts focused on improving energetic efficiency of the tissues and metabolic mechanisms responsible for the majority of whole animal energy expenditure should provide information leading to more efficient production of an edible product.

  • In South Korea, there have been many studies on efficient building-energy management using renewable energy facilities in single zero-energy houses or buildings. However, such management was limited due to spatial and economic problems. To realize a smart zero-energy city, studying efficient energy integration for the entire city, not just for a single house or building, is necessary. Therefore, this study was conducted in the eco-friendly energy town of Chungbuk Innovation City. Chungbuk successfully realized energy independence by converging new and renewable energy facilities for the first time in South Korea. This study analyzes energy data collected from public buildings in that town every minute for a year. We propose a smart city building-energy management model based on the results that combine various renewable energy sources with grid power. Supervised learning can determine when it is best to sell surplus electricity, or unsupervised learning can be used if there is a particular pattern or rule for energy use. However, it is more appropriate to use reinforcement learning to maximize rewards in an environment with numerous variables that change every moment. Therefore, we propose a power distribution algorithm based on reinforcement learning that considers the sales of Energy Storage System power from surplus renewable energy. Finally, we confirm through economic analysis that a 10% saving is possible from this efficiency.

  • The global electrical energy consumption is still rising and there is a steady demand to increase the power capacity, to produce, distribute and use the energy as0 efficient as possible and furthermore to set up incentives to save energy at the md-user. Two major technologies will play important roles to fulfill those targets. One is to change the electrical power production sources from the conventional, fossil (and short term) based energy sources to renewable energy resources. The other is to use high efficiency power electronics in power systems for high efficiency and high performance applications. This paper discusses both areas, in particular the power electronic application in wind power integration.

  • Of all the ways that energy is consumed within textile industry, few are as high energy-expending as dyeing process. The energy consumption in dyeing process amounts to 77% of total fuel consumption, 54% of total electricity use. A technical development in terms of efficient saving energy and time as well is required in the process of dyeing textiles. Recently, dyeing experts are investigating new technologies can conserve energy grafting into microwaves, radio waves, infrared lights, etc. Dyeing industry in Korea, however, the research related to energy conservation has been rarely conducted. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the possibility where especially microwaves could be applied to reduce the energy use and enhance dyeing process skill. This study performs the experiment in which microwave is employed as heating condition in dyeing and figures out as color yield being promoted, bathochromic effect would be achieved. Applying microwaves in dyeing process is expected to lower the carbon emission, energy and time wasted, ultimately exalt economic efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 WSN(Wireless Sensor Networks)을 구성함에 있어 에너지 소비효율이 우수한 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하고자 한다. WSN은 매우 작은 크기의 단말에 무선통신모듈, MPU, 센싱모듈 등을 탑재하고 환경데이터를 측정하며 이를 자가망 구성을 통해 수신단으로 전송하는 기술을 말한다. 이러한 WSN에서 사용되는 단말은 에너지자원이 한정적인 단점이 있으며, 이를 극복하기 위한 효율적인 네트워크 운영이 최근 주요 이슈로 등장하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 S-MAC을 개선하여 네트워크를 구성하는 단말들이 보다 효율적으로 에너지를 소모하도록 유도함으로써 네트워크 상태에 맞는 스케줄링과 데이터 전송이 이루어지게 하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • For the efficient use of thermal energy and its related equipments, optimal energy in view of quality and quantity should be timely provided. The core of thermal energy storage technology deals with an energy efficiency for effective energy storage and supply. The relative importance of thermal energy storage technology has been underestimated so far, and the specific projects on this filed have been performed intermittently. For the efficient and systematic approach of the energy supply system projects on thermal energy storage technology, we conduct the survey on the current status of this field. Firstly, classify into the thermal energy storage and describing the recent research for each system. The necessity and importance of thermal energy storage technology is identified through this study. It reveals that the thermal energy storage is the mandatory technology to solve the difference of supply and demand in thermal loads. It would greatly contribute to the combined heat and power(CHP) system. The urgent technologies for the commercial value and the core technologies for the CHP system are classified with this study.

무선 센서 네트워크에서 정적 그리드 기반의 에너지 효율적 라우팅 프로토콜 (An Energy-Efficient Routing Protocol based on Static Grid in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 최근 무선 센서 네트워크는 언제, 어디서나 통신이 가능한 환경을 구현하는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술의 한 분야로 각광받고 있다. 관리자가 감지 대상 지역을 이동하면서 정보를 수집하고 사용하기 위해서 싱크 노드의 이동성이 필수적으로 요구된다. 무선 센서 네트워크에서 이동 싱크 노드와 관련된 가장 대표적인 기법으로 두 계층 데이터 전송 방식(TTDD)이 제안되었으나, 많은 제어 패킷으로 에너지 효율성이 떨어진다. 이를 해결하기 위해 클러스터 기반의 에너지 효율적인 라우팅 프로토콜(CBPER)이 제안되었다. 하지만 CBPER은 보이드 그리드가 발생하면 싱크 노드 또는 소스 노드까지 데이터가 정확하게 전달되지 못한다는 한계를 가진다. 이 논문에서는 CBPER의 데이터 전송 실패를 해결하고 에너지 소비를 줄일 수 있는 무선 센서 네트워크에서 이동 싱크 노드를 적용한 정적 그리드 기반의 에너지 효율적 라우팅 프로토콜을 제안한다. NS-2에 의한 성능평가를 통해 제안 기법이 CBPER 기법보다 약 34%정도 에너지 측면에서 효율적이며, 싱크 노드까지 더 정확한 데이터 전송이 이루어진다는 것을 증명하였다.
