Human errors performed during the operations have a dominant portion of the accidents. But the systematic human error evaluation methodology universally accepted is not developed yet. One of the difficulties in performing human reliability analysis is to evaluate the performance shaping factors which represent the characteristics and the circumstances in the discriminate manner. For assessing a specific human action more exactly, it is necessary to consider all of the PSFs at the same time which make an effect on the human action. In this paper, dynamic influence diagrams are introduced to model simultaneously their effects on the specific human action. And the human actions and their subsequent PSFs are categorized and classified as the complementary works. A new human error evaluation methodology using influence diagrams is developed. This methodology involves the categorization of PSFs and the PSFs quantification. The applied analysis results for the example task are shown for representative purposes. It is shown that this approach is very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of actions.
This study presents a teaching model to increase the participation and interest, and to improve their understanding of physical concepts of first-year engineering students taking physics(2) course at a three-year college. In the class, a team task solution based on teamwork and a peer learning method through questions and answers between participants in each team were applied so that learners could actively participate in the class to discuss and present. We examined how the activities of each team affected students' interest in subjects, motivation to learn, and the degree of understanding of physical concepts. In the team activity, students were able to actively participate through emotional sharing between learners and free questions and explanations, and it was confirmed that academic achievement was improved by comparing the final exam evaluation results with the evaluation results of the previous three years.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to build basic data to systematically develop a hand function evaluation tool by determining the effects of age, gender and target force level on the difference in hand function according to the target force level. Background: Precise and objective evaluation of hand functionality is a very important factor in quantifying treatment progress in patients or elderly people, and in verifying treatment effects. However, most hand function evaluations lack objectivity and accuracy, and therefore it is difficult to properly treat patients according to the given situation. Method: Sixteen healthy subjects (eight elderly and eight young people) participated in this study to evaluate the effects of age, gender, and target force level on tracking performance through rRMSE in terms of the tracking force and actual exerted force, by carrying out a task of maintaining six different target force levels for 20 seconds. Results: The result of this experiment indicated that elderly people and women had a lower ability to maintain a certain level of force than young people and men by 16% and 10%, respectively. The target force level results showed that the tracking error of the lowest force level (5% MVC) was significantly higher than that of 15% MVC, which in turn showed a higher tracking error than that of the higher target force levels. Conclusion: The results of this study can thus be utilized to develop a rehabilitation program for elderly people or other patients. Application: The authors expect that the results of the present study will be valuable to develop a rehabilitation program and hand function evaluation tool.

This study provided a rubric prior to the performance of a task in a coding class and aimed to verify its effect. As for the research contents, this study redesigned the rubric developed in the preceding studies for the purpose of this study, presented that to the students and conducted a verification of its effects on the computer efficacy and academic achievement of the students who participated in the experiment, conducting a class. For this purpose, with 41 students in an experimental group, to which the rubric was presented to conduct the class and 39 students in a control group to which the rubric was not presented to conduct the class, this study conducted a six-week class and conducted a survey on their self-efficacy in the computer and a test to measure their academic achievement before and after the experiment. As a result, there were more positive effects on both computer efficacy and academic achievement in the group to which a rubric was presented and in which a rubric evaluation was conducted than in the control group. Through the result of this study, it was noted that the evaluation method presenting more specific and more detailed standards for performance and the level of the standards would have positive impacts on the learners' learning.
Performance evaluation continues to receive attention today as it has for the past few decades. The problem addressed in this paper concerns the relationship between supervisor's causal attributions and their subsequent responses behavior. Previous study in personnel and other disciplines has indicated the importance of causal attributions in the interpretation of poor performance. However, most study has focused on antecedents of attributions than supervisor's responses to the subordinate's poor performance. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of supervisor's causal attributions and subordinate's responses to a subordinate's poor performance. Specifically, using in the public sector context, the study examined the effects to two dimensions of causal attributions: locus of causality and stability, as well as on the punitiveness of supervisors's responses. The result supported that when the subordinate is internal causes for the performance failure, supervisor's responses were more punitive. Consistent with previous studies, internal attributions were found to result in more punitive behavior than external attribution. In addition, attributions to effort and luck were found to result in more punitive behavior than attributions to ability and task difficulty. Thus, the first hypothesis and second hypothesis supported. These result suggest the importance of appropriately for performance evaluation.
Purpose: Neuroreceptor PET studies require 60-120 minutes to complete and head motion of the subject during the PET scan increases the uncertainty in measured activity. In this study, we investigated the effects of the data-driven head mutton correction on the evaluation of endogenous dopamine release (DAR) in the striatum during the motor task which might have caused significant head motion artifact. Materials and Methods: $[^{11}C]raclopride$ PET scans on 4 normal volunteers acquired with bolus plus constant infusion protocol were retrospectively analyzed. Following the 50 min resting period, the participants played a video game with a monetary reward for 40 min. Dynamic frames acquired during the equilibrium condition (pre-task: 30-50 min, task: 70-90 min, post-task: 110-120 min) were realigned to the first frame in pre-task condition. Intra-condition registrations between the frames were performed, and average image for each condition was created and registered to the pre-task image (inter-condition registration). Pre-task PET image was then co-registered to own MRI of each participant and transformation parameters were reapplied to the others. Volumes of interest (VOI) for dorsal putamen (PU) and caudate (CA), ventral striatum (VS), and cerebellum were defined on the MRI. Binding potential (BP) was measured and DAR was calculated as the percent change of BP during and after the task. SPM analyses on the BP parametric images were also performed to explore the regional difference in the effects of head motion on BP and DAR estimation. Results: Changes in position and orientation of the striatum during the PET scans were observed before the head motion correction. BP values at pre-task condition were not changed significantly after the intra-condition registration. However, the BP values during and after the task and DAR were significantly changed after the correction. SPM analysis also showed that the extent and significance of the BP differences were significantly changed by the head motion correction and such changes were prominent in periphery of the striatum. Conclusion: The results suggest that misalignment of MRI-based VOI and the striatum in PET images and incorrect DAR estimation due to the head motion during the PET activation study were significant, but could be remedied by the data-driven head motion correction.

The soft drink deliveries are made for a broad line of soft drink products by using a hand truck and the backpack mode of carriage. The workers usually deliver the beverages by backpack mode of carriage, because they feel safe with such a carrying method in stairways. In this study, the physiological workload of backpack carrying was investigated, especially focused on the effects of weight of load and carrying by the stairway. A laboratory experiment was conducted to measure heart rate and oxygen uptake during backpack carrying tasks, and an ergonomic guideline was proposed for such type of task based on the results of the experiment. Eight healthy male subjects performed the backpack carrying of 40kg and 60kg, (1) on the level ground, (2) upstairs and (3) downstairs. The result showed that the stairways caused the increased physiological cost, and that a carrying load of 60kg required significantly higher physiological cost as compared to carrying 40kg. Although backpack carrying has some advantages in the biomechanical aspect, it should be advised to carry a load of less than 40kg, since the task requires a very high physiological cost. During backpack carrying, it is also recommended for a delivery person to make more trips with a light load rather than to make less trips with a heavier load at one trip.

The methanol extract of muskmelon (Cucumis melo) has been investigated for its cognition enhancing effects by evaluation of inhibitory activities on acetylcholinesterase, a degrading enzyme of acetylcholine, a brain neurotransmitter, and ${\beta}$- secretase, which forms the ${\beta}$-amyloid toxic protein from its precursor protein. A passive avoidance task, one of the animal model experiments for learning and memory, was also performed. As a result, the melon extract showed 15.8% and 35.3% inhibition on acetylcholinesterase and ${\beta}$-secretase, respectively, with a final concentration of 100 mg/ml. In the animal model test, melon extract significantly (p<0.05) lengthened the step-through latency time by 22.7% compared to the control group, suggesting that melon extract has, indeed, an effect on cognition enhancement.
This study was aimed to analyze factors affecting intention on clinical application by task autonomy of dental hygienists, expected effect and obstructive factor on clinical application of assessment, dental hygiene diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation (ADPIE). Meanwhile, it proved mediating effects of "attitude toward ADPIE" when it came to "intention on clinical application". The data was collected from 237 dental personnel in capital region from March 28, 2014 to May 2, 2014. To analyze the suitability of a theoretical model and hypothesis testing, SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 program were used. The theoretical model was accepted as it resulted in ${\chi}^2=421.67$ while showing goodness of fit index=0.858, comparative fit index=0.915, Tucker-Lewis index=0.896, root mean square residual=0.039, and root mean square error of approximation=0.099. The result showed "task autonomy of dental hygienists (${\beta}=0.398$, p<0.05)" and "expected effect on ADPIE (${\beta}=0.363$, p<0.01)" had a positive effect on "attitude toward ADPIE". Also, "attitude toward ADPIE" had a positive effect on "intention on clinical application". In addition, "task autonomy of dental hygienists" and "expected effect on ADPIE" had an indirect influence on "intention on clinical application" via such intermediary as "attitude toward ADPIE". According to the above results, the task autonomy of dental hygienists, expected effect on ADPIE, and attitude toward ADPIE were confirmed to be significant factors when it came to the intention on its clinical application. Therefore in order to settle ADPIE in the clinical practice, improvement of task autonomy for dental hygienists as well as their expectation and attitude on ADPIE must be promoted.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the operator performance relating to hand switches with two or three buttons in the main control rooms of nuclear power plants. Based on the comparative analysis of the nuclear power plants, two different subjective workload-rating scales were used to evaluate the performance of 48 operators: the Overall Workload(OW) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA TLX). The survey questions consisting of the eight-items were asked to evaluate the operating experiences for the two different switch types. The OW scales ratings were applied to measure the workload of the switch-related tasks. The ratings revealed that signal detection tasks caused less workload in the three-buttoned-switch operators than the other switch group. However, in the switch operation tasks, the switch types did not show statistically significant effects on workload level. The NASA TLX scale ratings were performed based on detailed task scenarios that assumed the accident of small break loss of coolant, what we call, the small LOCH. The NASA TLX was administered to three different task groups: the reactor, the turbine, and the electric operator groups. Based on the NASA TLX, the two-buttoned switch groups showed higher workload than those with the three-buttoned switches. However, a statistically significant difference was found only in the reactor operator groups. When the current switch type was assumed to be changed for the other type, all of the three-buttoned switch groups were predicted to have higher workload than the other switch groups, respectively. The implications of these findings were discussed.
