  • This paper proposes an implementation method of intelligent characters that can properly adapt to action patterns of opponent characters in fighting games by using genetic algorithm. For this intelligent characters, past actions patterns of opponent characters should be included in the learning process. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, two types of experiments are performed and their results are compared. In first experiment(exp-1), intelligent characters consider current action and its step of an opponent character. In second experiment (exp-2), on the other hands, they take past actions of an opponent characters into account additionally. As a performance index, the ratio of score obtained by an intelligent character to that of an opponent character is adopted. Experimental results shows that even if the performance index of exp-1 is better than that of exp-2 at the beginning of stages, but the performance index of exp-2 outperforms that of exp-1 as stages go on. Moreover, optimum solutions are always found in all experimental cases in exp-2. Futhermore, intelligent characters in exp-2 could learn moving actions (forward and backward) and waiting actions for getting more scores through self evolution.

  • Many researches related to STEAM education have been actively conducted for developing elementary and secondary school students' comprehensive and logical thinking ability in relation to creativity education in Korea. Each sub factor of STEAM education requires creative thinking with the ability to be merged together to solve problems as integrated or combined forms in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Also, these STEAM activities and experiences should be carried out at various places outside the classroom in school. Although various educational programs to enhance mathematical creativity have been emphasized for elementary and secondary school students, recent tendency to focus on classroom learning in the school makes it difficult to develop creative thinking ability of students. This research is mainly based on the result of the project "Development and Administration of STEAM Outreach Program in 2016" supported by KOFAC(Korea Foundation for the Achievement of Science & Creativity). The purpose of this research is to develop a STEAM outreach program including students' activity books, teachers' manuals and administration manual that can maximize STEAM-related interest of students, and to provide a chance for elementary and secondary school students to experience creative thinking based on sub factors of STEAM. The STEAM competency total score and the perception of convergence education were significantly increased for all students participating this program, but some sub factors showed different result by school levels. The STEAM outreach program developed by this study is designed to emphasize STEAM education especially 'based on' mathematics in order to provide students with the opportunity to experience more interest in the field of mathematics and will be able to provide an interesting creative STEAM outreach program that utilizes a variety of activities which, we expect, would help students to consider their career in the future.

  • Identifying user requirements efficiently and reflecting them on the existing system is very important in a rapidly changing web and mobile environments. This study proposes the strategies to refining requirements and to prioritizing those refined requirements for changing of web and mobile application based on user requirements (e.g. mobile application comments, Q&A, reported information as discomfort factors). In order to refining the user requirements, those requirements are grouped by using the advancement of the software business of the Forum of standardization and the existing configuration-based programs. Then, we mapped them onto the PIECES framework to identifying whether the refined requirements are correctly reflected to the system in a way of valid and pure. To determine the priority of refined requirements, first, relative weights are given to software structure, requirements and categories of PIECES. Second, integration points on each requirement are counted to obtain the relative value of partial and overall score of a set of software structural requirements. In order to verifying the possibility and proving the effectiveness of proposing technique in this study, survey was conducted on changing requirements of mobile application which have been serviced at S University by targeting 15 people of work-related stakeholders.

  • The objective of this study was to identify factors affecting the job satisfaction of cooks employed in school foodservice and to propose a plan to improve school foodservice quality. Therefore, in this paper, we examined the job satisfaction of 119 elementary school foodservice employees in the Northern Gyeonggi Province using a 5-point scale method. The results were analyzed by the SPSS Package Program(Ver 12.0) to determine percentages and frequency. Among the employees, 99.2% were women, and 75.9% were employed by contract. All of the subjects worked in elementary schools with self operated foodservice system and 57.6% of them served food in the classroom. The total number of diners served by these foodservice programs was $1,391.6{\pm}307.6$ an average of $135.0{\pm}18.2$ diners per cook. Among the foodservice employees, 82.2% had completed high school academic courses, and 98.4% had never changed jobs. Their overall degree of job satisfaction degree was relatively high at $3.05{\pm}0.85$, but the wage and welfare system($2.45{\pm}0.86$), and the merit rating methods($2.25{\pm}0.87$) ranked among the lowest in the job satisfaction survey. On the other hand, the relationships between the managers and the coworkers marked relatively higher at $3.02{\pm}1.03$, compared with other aspects of job satisfaction. As for the work environment, the scaled score was $2.38{\pm}0.85$. Finally the ranking of achieving job improvement through education($3.28{\pm}0.93$), and the effectiveness of education($3.58{\pm}0.78$) showed us the importance and necessity of education.

  • Presently, there is increasing demand for geriatric nursing care due to increasing proportion of elderly population and extended age. And, of particular importance in deforming the effectiveness of nursing care given to the elderly is the attitude of nursing personnel toward the elderly patient. This study was intendent to investigate the attitudes of baccalaureate nursing students toward the elderly, and to investigate any possible correlation between these attitudes and the following variables: the students' levels (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior), their preferences for var-ious fields of specialization in nursing after graduation, their clinical experiences with geriatric-patients, their personal experience with elderly family members, their educational experience of the elderly's health problems and geriatric nursing, and their experience with relatives and acquaintances over 60 years of age. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compile basic data about the attitudes of nursing students toward the elderly in order to contribute to the improvement of geriatric nursing. The subjects for this study were 259 nursing students: 163 in the College of Nursing at E-womans University., and 96 in the Department of Nursing in K. College. Data was collected from the 11th of Sep., to the 8th of Oct., 1981, using the Tuckman-Lorge Attitude Questionnaire which contained 131 items excepting 6 items. The attitudes toward the elderly was scored by the use of mean and standard deviation. The relations between attitudes toward the elderly and six independent vairables were analysed by T-test. The results which were obtained are as follows : 1. The attitude score of nursing students was M=71.67 S.D= 16.18. Nursing students agreed with 54.8% of the stereotypic statements, and they had stereotypic attitudes toward the elderly relatively. (P<0.01). 2. There was a significant difference between the attitudes of nursing students toward the elderly, and sophomores had a less stereotypic attitudes than juniors and seniors (P<0.01). 3. There was significant difference between the attitudes toward the elderly and the preferences for various fields of specialization in nursing after graduation, and nursing students those who wanted maternity fields had a more stereotypic attitudes than others (P<0.05, p<0.01). 4. There was no significant difference between the attitudes toward the elderly and the clinical experience with the geriatric patients (P>0.05). 5. There was no significant difference between the attitude3 toward the elderly and the personal experience with elderly family members (F>0.05). 6. There was no significant difference between the attitudes toward the elderly and the educational experience of the elderly's health problems and geriatric nursing (P>0.05). 7. There was no significant difference between the attitudes toward the elderly and the experience with relatives and acquaintances over 60 years of age (P>0.05).

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of nutrition counseling on the dietary intake and nutritional status cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment. The study was conducted over 6 week period and included 104 patients : 66 received nutrition counseling as the variable group of 42 male and 24 female and 38 patients received no counseling as the control group of 19 male and 19 female. Nutrition counseling was accompanied with the radiation therapy and adminstered via counseling session and distribution of printed material during radiation therapy for 6 weeks. Nutrition counseling aimed at maintaining a balanced diet and preventing weight loss of subjects, guideline used for energy and protein intake were 35kcal/kg IBW and 1.5-2.0g/kg IBW, respectively. Over the course of the study, the counseling group increased significantly in comparison to the control group's energy intake, evidenced by the counseling group's initial mean daily energy intake of 1932.0kcal, and 4 and 6 week mean energy intake values of 2046.6kcal, 2066kcal, respectively. But mean energy values of control group was 1614.3kcal at 4 week. Th energy intake per weight values and protein intake per weight values for initial, 4 and 6 week intervals for counseling group were 33.2kcal/kg, 33.7kcal/kg, 34.0kcal/kg, and 1.48g/kg, 1.58g/kg, 1.59g/kg, respectively. Based on results, nutrition counseling had positive effects on both the variety of diet and energy intake of the variable group, mostly due to an increase in dairy product and egg consumption. In addition, the percentage of counseling group patients who consumed all 5 food group increased from 48.5% to 54.5%. Sufficient energy intake and protein consumption seem to be important factors in weight loss prevention, evidenced by weight gain by subjects in the counseling group who had 36.1kcal/kg/day mean energy intake and 1.77g/kg/day mean protein intake after 4 weeks. Counseling group subjects experiencing weight loss had lower intake and 1.77g/kg/day mean protein intake after 3 weeks. Counseling group subjects experiencing weight loss had lower intakes of 29.3kcal/kg/day for energy and 1.33g/kg/day for protein during the same period. Another significant factor in weight loss prevention of the counseling group could be the variety of diet. The dietary variety scores(DVS) of both counseling and control groups differed significantly : the counseling group had a mean score of 34 while the control group of patients. At the end of the study, the mean percentage of subjects within each group having a DDS 5 was higher in the counseling group (54.5% v.s. 24.0%). In this study, nutrition counseling for cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy proved to be effective in preventing weight loss, a major complication during radiotherapy. Nutrition counseling not only increased protein and energy intake, but also had desirable effects on variety or diversity of diet.

  • Purpose: The goal of this study was to compare the outcome of the after trauma team (AfterTT) group to the before trauma team (BeforeTT) group. Methods: All trauma patients who visited to emergency room (ER) between July 1, 2006 and February 29,2008 based on trauma registry, with systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 90 mmHg or GCS < 9 were included in this study. We compared the amount of packed RBC transfusion, the ER stay time, the ER visit to CT evaluation time, the ER visit to operation time, the length of ICU stay, the length of hospital admission and the survival discharge rate between the AfterTT group and the BeforeTT group. Patients with brain injuries had little chance of survival. Burn patients, who visited the ER 24 hours after injury and patients who were dead on arrival (DOA) were excluded from this study. Results: Total of 93 patients were included in this study: 42 in the AfterTT group and 51 in the BeforeTT group. The AfterTT group and the Before TT group showed no differences in Revised Trauma Score (RTS) and mean age. The amount of packed RBC transfusion was lower in the AfterTT group, but no statistically significant difference was noted (AfterTT 11${\pm}$11units, BeforeTT 16${\pm}$15units, p=0.136). The ER visit to operation time was shorter in the AfterTT group, but there were no statistically significant difference between the groups (AfterTT 251${\pm}$223 minutes, BeforeTT 486${\pm}$460 minutes, p=0.082). The length of ICU stay was shorter in the AfterTT group, but the difference was not statistically significant (AfterTT 11${\pm}$12 days, Before TT 15${\pm}$30 days, p=0.438). The length of Hospital admission was shorter in the AfterTT group (AfterTT 43${\pm}$37 days, BeforeTT 68${\pm}$70 days, p=0.032), but this difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Simple Trauma team activation criteria decreased the amount of packed RBC transfusion and the hospital admission duration. Hemodynamic instability (SBP < 90 mmHg) and decreased mental state (GCS<9) are good indices for activating the trauma team.
