가변전열 히이트 파이프의 특성에 관한 연구 (An experimental study on heat transfer characteristics of variable conductance heat pipe)

  • The heat-pipe is characterised by the highly effective thermal conductance. In order to change the thermal conductance, the heat-pipe is connected to a reservior having a space which is filled with non-condensable gas. In normal operation, the vapour of working fluid will tend to pump the non- condensable gas into the reservoir and the gas-vapour interface situates at some point along the condenser section. The thermal conductance is affected by non- condensable gas. It is concluded that the suitable position of interface can be used to control the temperature of condenser section. In this experiment, the evaporating part is connected to the lowest position of heat-pipe. The copper heat-pipe which is filled with Freon-113 or distilled water as working fluid utilized. As results of experimental study, thermal conductance can be increased by the operating pressure which is infulenced by non-condensable gas. A correlative equation between the thermal conductance and the mass of non- condensable gas is also obtained.

  • The experiments were performed with a $31{\times}31{\times}7mm^3$ simulated 3-dimensional module on the thermal conductive board of a parallel plate channel. The convective thermal conductance for the path from the module surface directly to airflow and conjugate thermal conductance for the path leading from the module to the floor by way of a module support, then, to the airflow were determined with several combinations of module-support-construction(210, 0.32, 0.021 K/W)/floor-material(398, 0.236W/mK) and channel height(15-30mm). As the result, it was found that the conjugate thermal conductance and the temperature distribution around the module depend on the thermal resistance of the module support, and the channel height. These configurations were designed to investigate on the feasibility of using the substrate as an effective heat spreader in the forced convective air-cooling of surface mounted heat source. The experimental results were discussed in the light of interactive nature of heat transfer through two paths, one directed from the module to the airflow and the other via the module support and the floor to the air.

CRT 부품용 탈가스 및 Thermal Desorption 측정장치 개발 (Outgassing and thermal desorption measurement system for parts of CRT)

  • CRT부품 탈가스(outgassing)를 온도를 변화 시켜가며 측정할 수 있고 시료의 열탈착 특성을 측정할 수 있는 TDS(Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy) 측정 장치를 설계 제작하였다. 제작된 시스템은 유효 배기속도를 조절할 수 있는 진공 장치와 시료의 온도조절 장치, 탈가스 측정 가치로 구성되어 있다. 제작된 시스템의 최저 도달 진공도는 $1{\times}10^{-7}$Pa 이하였고 가변 콘덕탄스(conductance)를 채택하여 유효 배기 속도를 조절 할 수 있도록 제작되었다. 가변 콘덕탄스 조절에 따른 시료위치에서의 유효 배기 속도 변화를 측정하였다. 텅스텐 히터와 온도조절기를 이용하여 시료의 온도는 600℃까지 ±1℃ 이내 오차로 조절 할 수 있었으며 온도 상승률도 조절할 수 있었다. 측정계기로 사용한 이온 진공계(ion gauge)와 사중극 질량분석기(quadrupole mass spectrometer)의 감도를 측정하여 정량적인 측정을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 제작된 시스템을 이용하여 CRT 공정에서의 부품별 온도별 측정 예와 공정분석에의 적용 예를 보였다.

마이크로 볼로미터 초점면 배열에서 전기-열적 피드백 현상이 신호에 미치는 영향 (Electro-thermal Feedback Effects on the Signal in a Pulse Voltage Biased μ-bolometer Focal Plane Array)

  • In this paper, the analytical models for the electrothermal feedback of a ${\mu}$-bolometer focal plane array(FPA) are proposed and applied to the conceptually designed FPA to investigate the electrothermal feedback effect on bolometer FPA signal. The temperature and resistance change of the ${\mu}$-bolometer by the electrothermal feedback(ETF) model are increased upto 20 and 35.7 % of those of no feedback case, respectively, while those by the effective thermal conductance(ETC) model increased 8.5 and 15.1 %. The integration current and output voltage of a CTIA used as an column amplifier of FPA are also increased upto 41.6 and 32.4 % by the ETF model, while increased upto 17.2 and 13.5 % by the ETC model. The proposed models give more accurate temperature change, accordingly larger signal than no feedback considering case. Electrothermal feedback effect should be considered to design a high performance and high density ${\mu}$-bolometer FPA. The proposed models are very useful to investigate the transient thermal analysis, also considered to be useful to predict the responsivity and dynamic range of ${\mu}$-bolometer FPAs.

가변열전도성능 히트파이프(VCHP)의 온도제어 성능에 관한 실험 (An Experimental Study on the Temperature-Control Performance of a Variable Conductance Heat Pipe)

  • A VCHP was fabricated and tested for its thermal performance. The container was made of copper, and the working fluid was water. STS-316 screen of mesh number 100 was inserted as a capillary structure. As a baseline performance, a normal heat pipe of the same dimensions was tested in advance to compare with VCHP, where an inert gas container was attached. The outer diameter of the heat pipe was 12.8 mm and the total length was 600 mm. The evaporator and the condenser lengths were both 200 mm. The thermal load ranged from 20 to 300W. Typical result revealed that the operating temperature of the VCHP stayed almost constant, while that of the normal heat pipe varied as much as 40$^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it was demonstrated that the VCHP is very effective for temperature control of heat-dissipating devices.

  • Heat generation in machine operating condition makes thermal deformation and thermalstress in the structure, which results in the change the contact characteristics of machine joint such s change of shrinkage fit, contact heat conductance and contact pressure. As the change of contact pressure is related to variation of static, dynamic and thermalcharacteristics, the prediction of transient contact perssure is strongly required. This paper presents some analytical results which will be effective to predict static and dynamic characteristics of the compound cylindrical structure.

  • 건물의 사양으로부터 시뮬레이션에 의해 열성능을 추출하는 기법과 실측 데이타로 부터 연역적인 방법에 의해 열성능을 추출하는 기법을 연합시켜 단기간의 측정에 의해 건물의 열성능을 간단하고 정확하게 결정할 수 있는 기법을 Test cell에 적용하였다. 실험과정 및 자료분석은 PSTAR 기법에 따라 수행했다. 각 측정기간은 3일간으로 비거주 상태에서 측정했으며, 실내온도, 외기온, 일사량, 공급열량, 풍속, 상대습도등의 자료를 측정하여 건물의 사양에 의한 시뮬레이션 모델의 재표준화에 사용했다. 아래의 3개 주요계수들이 본 분석에 의해 얻어졌다. 1) 건물 열손실계수 : BLC(표면전도율+침기에 의한 전도율); 2) 유효 건물열용량; 3) 유효 태양열 획득량. 그리고 재표준화된 식으로부터 예측된 값과 건물의 사양으로 시뮬레이션에 의해 예측된 값과 측정된 값과의 비교를 통해 재표준화된 식이 실제건물의 열성능을 잘 묘사함을 알 수 있었다. 장기간의 외삽으로 기후 자료를 이용하여 표준 쾌적도를 유지하기 위해 필요한 에너지를 계산했다.

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigate the thermal performance of a medium-temperature heat pipe against the charge amount of working fluid. The container and the wick of the heat pipe were made of stainless steel and the working fluid was Dowtherm-A for medium-temperature applications around $250^{\circ}C$. The diameter and length of the heat pipe were 25.4 mm and 1 m, respectively. The maximum thermal load was 1 kW and the working fluid charge ratio varied from 372% to 420%. The results showed that the thermal resistance ranged from 0.12 to $250^{\circ}C/W$ and the effective thermal conductance ranged from 7,703 to $8,898 W/m{\cdot}K$. Dry-out occurred for the heat pipe with 372% fill-charge at the heat load of 950 W, while the other heat pipes with higher charge amount did not encounter dry-out up to 1060 W.

진공표준의 국제비교 연구 (Intercomparison of vacuum standards of Korea, United Kingdom, and Japan)

  • Capacitance Diaphragm Gauge(CDG)를 전달표준기로 사용하여 한국과 영국의 저진 공표준의 국제비교를 수행한 결과 양국 표준기에서 교정한 CDG의 압력비의 차이는 0.05% 이었다. 또한 두 개의 Spinning Rotor Gauge(SRG)를 이용하여 한국과 일본이 고진공표준의 국제비교를 수행한 결과 양국 표준기에서 교정한 SRG의 accommodation coefficient($sigma$)의 차이가 0.4% 이내이었다. CDG와 SRG를 이용한 한국과 영국의 저진공표준기 및 한국과 일 본의 고진공표준기의 국제비교 결과 CDG 및 SRG 자체의 고유오차범위 이내에서 결과가 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다.

부직포내 공기함량이 열전달에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Air Content on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of Nonwoven Insulating Materials)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze conductive convective and radiative heat transfer characteristic of the nonwovens were studied by measuring thermal conductance at atmospheric and low air pressure. The results obtained were as follows . 1) As thickness of air layer Increased, overall heat transfer was decreased by reducing conductive and radiative heat trasfer. 2) The conductive and convective heat trasfer by air were in the range of 79~8971 of overall heat transfer. 3) As thickness of nonwoven increased for a given solidity, overall heat trasfer was decresed by increasing total thickness of air layer and by reducing conductive and radiative heat transfer. 4) For a given weight, increasing thickness is more effective than increasing solidity.
