To analyze the nonflatness and residual stress in accelerated cooled plate, a numerical analysis model has been developed. Two factors, i.e. temperature and phase transformation, are considered in calculating the stress distribution that develops during cooling. The plastic strain and plate-buckling, which are often shown in accelerated cooled plate, were determined from this stress. Mean temperature in through thickness direction and temperature difference in width direction are considered in the model to simplify the calculation. The temperature and stress distribution changes caused by phase transformation are involved in terms of the effective specific heat and the effective thermal expansion coefficient. With the model, accelerated cooling of 10mm(t) $^{*}$3000mm(w) plate was simulated. The condition of accelerated cooling was .deg. C/sec from just after hot rolling to 500.deg. C. The initial temperature-difference ratio, .DELTA.Tr, in width direction is an important factor in evaluating the stress distribution. When .DELTA.Tr is 0.08, buckling occurs during cooling and 7kgf/m $m^{2}$ of residual stress develops at the edge of plate. To secure the flatness, .DELTA.Tr should be less than 0.07. Small scaled cooling test was conducted to verify the exactness of the model and the results proved the usefulness of this numerical analysis model.l.

In the plant structures including nuclear power plants, penetrations are frequently installed in walls and slabs to reinforce facilities during operation, and reinforcing bars are sometimes cut off during concrete coring. Since these penetrations are not considered at the design or construction stage, cutting of reinforcing bar during opening installation is actually damage to the structure, structural integrity evaluation considering the stress transition range or effective width around the new penetration is necessary. In this study, various nonlinear analyses and static loading experiments are performed to evaluate the effect of reinforcing bar cutting that occurs when a penetration is newly installed in the shear wall of wall-type building of operating nuclear power plant. In addition, the decrease in wall stiffness due to the installed new penetration and cutting of reinforcing bars is evaluated and the stress and strain distributions of rebars around penetration are also measured.

This study was prevent the decrease in crop output by insect pests and spraying by application uniformity. A flight level 4 m height and 4-5 m/sec. speed are difficult to maintain with a agricultural drone for aerial application, which has been affected by the methods or environmental factors, such as changes in the wind. Therefore, which can allow a controlled application width and spray rate automatically and verified experimentally using drone. The sprayed particles began to decrease from about 3.75 m on the left and right sides of the spray nozzle. According to the number of particles, the effective spraying width was observed to be about 7.5 m, and it was verified that the proposed spraying system was effective in uniform control system.
In the paper we validate theoretical models of the pulse against experimental data from the Jozef Stefan Institute TRIGA Mark II research reactor. Data from all pulse experiments since 1991 have been collected, analysed and are publicly available. This paper summarizes the validation study, which is focused on the comparison between experimental values, theoretical predictions (Fuchs-Hansen and Nordheim-Fuchs models) and calculation using computational program Improved Pulse Model. The results show that the theoretical models predicts higher maximum power but lower total released energy, full width at half maximum and the time when the maximum power is reached is shorter, compared to Improved Pulse Model. We evaluate the uncertainties in pulse physical parameters (maximum power, total released energy and full width at half maximum) due to uncertainties in reactor physical parameters (inserted reactivity, delayed neutron fraction, prompt neutron lifetime and effective temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel). It is found that taking into account overestimated correlation of reactor physical parameters does not significantly affect the estimated uncertainties of pulse physical parameters. The relative uncertainties of pulse physical parameters decrease with increasing inserted reactivity. If all reactor physical parameters feature an uncorrelated uncertainty of 10 % the estimated total uncertainty in peak pulse power at 3 $ inserted reactivity is 59 %, where significant contributions come from uncertainties in prompt neutron lifetime and effective temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel. In addition we analyse contribution of two physical mechanisms (Doppler broadening of resonances and neutron spectrum shift) that contribute to the temperature reactivity coefficient of fuel. The Doppler effect contributes around 30 %-15 % while the rest is due to the thermal spectrum hardening for a temperature range between 300 K and 800 K.

Polyester round slings are widely utilized in various work environments due to their lightweight, flexible nature and smooth surface that minimizes the risk of cargo abrasion or damage. However, specific guidelines intended to protect round slings from the damage caused by the sharp edges of cargo, thus preventing accidents in case the cargo falls, are lacking in South Korea. In this study, a comparative analysis was conducted on the regulations and guidelines related to round slings in South Korea and the United States. Further, experiments were carried out to determine the relationship between round slings and lifting accessories. The research identified specific shortcomings in the user manuals provided by round-sling manufacturers. Accordingly, certain measures were proposed for enhancing the operational safety of round slings: 1) establish criteria for edge protection of polyester round slings and 2) recommend standardization of the information provided by manufacturers. As developing new standards is a time-consuming task, this study proposes a method for enhancing the operational safety of round slings in the short term by introducing established safety standards from the United States-where safety has been proven over a considerable period of time-into the domestic context. In addition, it is recommended that edge criteria be permanently printed on the labels of round slings.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the change in condylar position, width, and angle before and after orthognathic surgery using 3-dimensional computed tomograph. Pre and posterative 3-D CT was taken on 38 patients and through axial, frontal, sagittal measurements and by 3-dimensional reconstruction, the changes in condylar postion, mandibular width and angle were analyzed and others such as the difference in gender, operation and fixation method, setback length and in relation with temporomandibular disorders were done together too. The results were as follows: The inward rotation of condyle in axial condylar angle, the forward movement of right condyle in sagittal anterior-posterior distance, the superior movement of both condyles in sagittal superior-inferior distance, the decrease in gonial angle, the increase in mandibular width, the decrease in distance between the axial coronoid process distance and the increase in the frontal intercondylar distance were statistically significant. There were no statistically significant changes in gender difference, however in the difference in operation method, change in the gonial angle was observed and there was more change in bilateral sagittal split osteotomy group compared to two-jaw surgery group. In the difference in fixation method, the decrease in axial coronoid process distance and the change in sagittal anterior-posterior distance were statistically significant. In the difference in setback, the increase in setback didn't relate directly with the increased change in condyle position. In the relation with temporomandibular disorder, changes in left axial condylar angle and axial coronoid process distance were statistically significant. Changes in condylar position could be observed after the orthognathic surgery but it doesn't seem to have much of a clinical importance. The orthognathic surgery is effective in decreasing the mandibular angle, and it is not related with the temporomandibular disorder.
One of the strenuous problems in orthodontic procedures is postretention stability and retention against relapse. Many investigative trial had been done to disclose the factors associated with relapse and effective prescription to stave off, however, the nature of these jeopardies remained obscure. The objective was to investigate the long-term stability and quantitative changes of dental arches subsequently after Class I nonextraction treatment. Study models, cephalometric headfilms of 26 samples which were taken before, after teatment and postretention were employed to measure the interdental width of corresponding buccal teeth, overbite, overjet and the inclination of incisors and molars. Statistical analysis was carried to compare each measurements across the time period, and followings were brought around. 1. The quantitative amount of relapse in overbite presented positive correlation with the amount of changes through the treatment. 2. Stability of intercanine width was so far secure in the case the expansion had been done through. 3. The amount of changes in intercanine width of the lower regardless of expansion or contraction manifested less than the upper, however, the relapse ratio got high. 4. The upper and lower incisors were likely to be labioversive, and remained stable after retention. 5. The first molars of the upper and lower were conceivably tipped back immediately after treatment and returned to the original angulation. The expansion of intermolar width stayed stable across the time scheme after treatment It was suggested that the maintenance of intercanine width of lower was pertinent to perform the postretention stabilityv and the expansion of dental arch shoed be confined within physiologic boundaries of the patients.

In order to determine the effects of lock gate expansion at the Lake Youngsan and Yeongam as well as increase in the width of the connecting channel of the two lakes on flood control downstream of the Youngsan River, an unsteady hydraulic flood routing was conducted by combining the Lake Youngsan and Yeongam as a single connected system. The coupled operation of the two lakes was found to have little effect when the widths of the lock gates and the connecting channel are set at the current level. It was also found that increasing the width of the connecting channel as well as the lock gate of the Lake Yeongam is an effective means of reducing the stage of the Lake Youngsan, whereas an increase in the width of the Lake Youngsan's lock gate had a relatively smaller effect. The extended width of the connecting channel leads to a rise in the stage of the Lake Yeongam. In order to reduce the elevated stage, The Lake Yeongam's lock gate must be expanded along with the Lake Yeongsan's lock gate. The analysis found that the stage of the Lake Yeongsan can be effectively controlled through adjustment of opening and shutting criteria of the connecting channel's lock gate, when diversion discharge between the lakes is increased as a result of expanding the width of the connecting channel.
Off-track capability is used to determine the track pitch of hard disk drive system, and the off-track capability as a function of track pitch is called 747 curve. In this paper, 747 curves were simulated with computer. Side reading and recording parameters were obtained by magnetic field analysis using 3-D finite element method. Head read signal and noise voltages for calculation of signal to noise ratio (SNR) were obtained using reciprocity theorem. According to the 747 curves thus obtained, the off-track capability was increased as erase band width increased and as effective signal to noise ration $(SNR_{eff}}$ decreased. A simulated 747 curve and a measured 747 curve (using spin stand) of a planar silicon head with track width of 4.1 um were very similar, which indicated that the simulation was carried out properly.
Since the carrier sequence is not reproducible in a period of the random carrier pulse width modulation (RCPWM) and a higher harmonic spectrum amplitude is likely to affect the quality of the power supply. In addition, electromagnetic interference (EMI) and mechanical vibration will appear. To solve these problems, this paper has proposed an optimal RCPWM based on a genetic algorithm (GA). In the optimal modulation, the range of the random carrier frequency is taken as a constraint and the reciprocal of the maximum harmonic spectrum amplitude is used as a fitness function to decrease the EMI and mechanical vibration caused by the harmonics concentrated at the carrier frequency and its multiples. Since the problems of the hardware make it difficult to use in practical engineering, this paper has presented a hardware system. Simulations and experiments show that the RCPWM is effective. Studies show that the harmonic spectrum is distributed more uniformly in the frequency domain and that there is no obvious peak in the wave spectra. The proposed method is of great value to research on RCPWM and integrated power systems (IPS).
