직교보강재(直交補强材)가 붙은 구형평판(矩形平板)에 있어서의 응력해석(應力解析) (Stress Analysis of Orthogonally Stiffened Rectangular Plates by the Laplace Transformation)

  • Grillages are abundant in ship structures and in many other types of structures such as bridges and building floors. Clarkson has shown that plated grillages can be satisfactorily analyzed as gridworks if an appropriate effective breadth is taken into account. Also, it has previously been pointed out, by Nielsen, that grillage calculations could be simplified by use of the Laplace transformation. In this paper, it is assumed that the torsional rigidity of the members and axial load are negligible, also that girders have the same scantling and spacing each other and so stiffeners do. Then the grillages composed of both-end-fixed girders and both-end-hinged stiffeners, which are subjected only to uniform normal loads are investigated. The calculus of variation is used to set up the differential equations and the Laplace transformation is applied to solve the differential equations. The program has been tested by FACOM 28 and the results show good agreements with those by the STRESS, which was developed in M.I.T.. The amount of the data input and computing time are much less than those of the STRESS. But this program has so much restrictions that it is urgent to extend the program to the grillage problems of arbitrary loading and boundary conditions.

연안목적용 저출력 어군탐지기 음향계의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of the Low Electrical Power Echo Sounder System for Coastal Use)

  • 연안에서 목적으로 하는 어업에 적합하도록 소형 어군탐지기를 효율적으로 설계하고 평가할 수 있는 방법에 대해 검토하기 위하여 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 어군탐지기의 특성과 탐지범위 등에 대해 조사하였다. 먼저 일반적인 어군탐지기의 빔폭은 주파수와 송신전력이 상승함에 따라 좁아지고 송수파기의 직경은 송신전력이 증가함에 커지는 경향을 보였다. 이 특성을 이용하여 상업적으로 사용되는 일반적인 어군탐지기의 신호대 잡음비를 유도하였다. 탐지거리와 탐지폭으로 구성되는 탐지범위는 이 신호대 잡음비(SN비)로부터 얻을 수 있다. 탐지거리는 주파수의 증가와 함께 증가하였지만 고주파에서는 흡수계수의 영향으로 원거리 탐지가 어려워진다. 즉 송수파기 직경, 송신전력의 증가에 따른 효과는 저주파에서는 크고, 고주파에서는 적은 경향을 보인다. 탐지범위 등을 종합적으로 응용하여 휴대용 어군탐지기의 설계 범용도를 작성하였다. 범용도에는 SN비를 송수파기의 직경, 빔폭, 탐지거리를 변수로하여 주파수에 대해 표시하였다. 범용도에서 SN비가 높고 실용성이 높은 적절한 설계영역을 표시하였다. 설계영역에서 설계점을 정하면 전체적으로 적절한 설계를 할 수 있다. 설계범용도는 어군탐지기의 성능평가에도 응용할 수 있다.

영국 국가교육과정의 개정과 새로운 지리 학습프로그램의 특징 (A Study on New Programme of Study for Geography by A Revised Geography National Curriculum in England)

  • 이 연구는 영국 국가교육과정의 개정에 따른 지리 학습프로그램의 변화와 그 함의를 밝히고자 한 것이다. 2008년과 2011년부터 각각 시행된 중등 및 초등 국가교육과정은 1995년과 2000년에 이어 세 번째 개정으로서 그 이전보다 편제 면에서나 내용 면에서나 획기적인 변화를 보이고 있다. 특히, 초등 국가교육과정은 6개의 학습영역으로 재편 되었는데, 기존의 KS1-2 지리는 역사 및 시민성과 함께 '역사적, 지리적, 사회적 이해'라는 학습영역에 통합되어, 처음으로 통합사회과의 출범을 알리는 계기가 되었다. 그리하여 현재 영국 국가교육과정에서는 지리는 KS3에서만 기초 교과로서 그 이름을 유지하고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 국가교육과정은 여전히 학습프로그램과 성취목표로 구성되어 있다. 그러나 학습프로그램의 구성 체제와 그 내용에 있어서는 매우 큰 변화가 있었다. 초등의 경우 학습프로그램이 '교육과정 목표-학습영역의 중요성-본질적 지식-핵심기능-범교과적 학습-학습의 폭-교육과정의 계열'로, 중등의 경우 '교육과정 목표-교과의 중요성-핵심개념-핵심프로세서-범위와 내용-교육과정 기회'로 재구조화되었다. 이 연구는 이와 같은 새로운 지리 학습프로그램의 항목별 특징과 효과적인 지리교육과정 계획을 위한 함의를 도출하였다.

선체진동해석(船體振動解析)에 있어서의 유효전단강성도(有效剪斷剛性度) (On the Effective Shear Rigidity in Ship Vibration Analysis)

  • For the analysis of vertical vibrations of a ship's hull, the Timoshenko beam analogy is accepted up to seven or eight-node modes provided that the system parameters are properly calculated. As to the shear coefficient, it has been a common practice to apply the strain energy method or the projected area method. The theoretical objection to the former is that it ignores lateral contraction due to Poisson's ratio, and the latter is of extreme simplifications. Recently, Cowper's and Stephen's shear coefficient formulas have drawn ship vibration analysts' attentions because these formulas, derivation of which are based on an integrations of the equations of three-dimensional elasticity, take Poisson's ratio into account. Providing computer programs for calculation of the shear coefficient of ship sections modeled as thin-walked multicell sections by each of the forementioned methods, the authors calculated natural vibration characteristics of a bulk carrier and of a container ship by the transfer matrix method using shear coefficients obtained by each of the methods, and discussed the results in comparision. The major conclusions resulted from this investigation are as follows: (1) The shear coefficients taking account of the effects of Poisson's ratio, Cowper's $K_c$ and Stephen's $K_s$, result in higher values of about 10% in maximum as compared with the shear coefficient $K_o$ based on the conventional strain energy methods; (a) $K_c/K_o{\cong}1.05\;and\;K_s/K_o{\cong}1.10$ for ships having single skin side-shell such as a bulk carrier. (b) $K_c/K_o{\cong}1.02\;and\;K_s/K_o{\cong}1.05$ for ships having longitudinally through bulkheads and/or double side-shells in the portion of the cargo hod such as a container carrier. (2) The distributions of the effective shear area along the ship's hull based on each of $K_o,\;K_c\;and\;K_s$ are similar each another except the both end portions. (3) Natural frequencies and mode shapes of the hull based on each of $K_c\;and\;K_s$ are of small differences as compared each other. (4) In cases of using $K_c\;or\;K_s$ in ship vibration analysis, it is also desirable to have the bending rigidity be corrected according to the effective breadth concept. And then, natural frequencies and mode shapes calculated with the bending rigidity corrected in the above and with each of $K_o,\;K_c\;and\;K_s$ result in small differences as compared each another. (5) Referring to those mentioned in the above (3) and (4) and to the full-scale experimental results reported by Asmussen et al.[17], and considering laboursome to prepare the computer input data, the following suggestions can safely be made; (a) Use of $K_o$ in ship vibration analysis is appropriate in practical senses. (b) Use of $K_c$ is appropriate even for detailed vibration analysis of a ship's hull. (6) The effective shear area based on the projected area method is acceptable for the two-node mode.

기초 폭 및 암반층의 영향을 고려한 마이크로파일 설치방안에 관한 연구 (The Effects of the Breadth of Foundation and Rock Layer on the Installation Method of Micro-piles)

  • 마이크로파일은 기존 얕은 기초의 지지력 증가 또는 침하 억제 목적으로 주로 사용되어 왔다. 최근에는 이러한 목적에만 국한되지 않고, 기존 파일과 유사한 지지파일, 사면의 안정을 위한 억지말뚝, 옹벽의 전단키 등과 같은 사용 목적에 따라 다양하게 현장에서 활용되고 있다. 마이크로파일의 활용 빈도가 점차 증가함에 따라 몇몇 연구자들이 현장 시험 또는 모형시험을 통해 최적의 설치 방법에 대해 연구를 하고 있다. 그러나 진행되고 있는 연구는 대부분이 토사 또는 점토지반을 대상으로 한 것이다. 현장지반은 단일 토사 또는 점토 지반만으로 구성된 경우가 드물다. 또한 암반층이 존재하는 지반에서는 암반층의 위치에 따라 파일 길이가 결정되며, 결정된 파일길이에 따라 파일 강성이 달라질 수 있으므로 이에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 암반층의 위치에 따른 마이크로파일의 최적 설치방안을 규명하기 위해 모형시험을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 파일 강성과 관련된 파일 길이비(L/d)가 50이하인 경우에는 암반층 위치와 관계없이 수직으로 설치하는 것이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 파일 길이비가 50을 초과하고, 암반층위치가 지반 파괴깊이보다 깊으면, 파일을 경사지게 설치하는 것이 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

안전중시 시스템의 설계프로세스 구축에서 SysML 모델의 활용에 관한 연구 (On the Use of SysML Models in the Construction of the Design Process for Safety-Critical Systems)

  • The recent trend in modern systems development can be characterized by the increasing complexity in terms of both the functionality and HW/SW scale that seems to be accelerated by the growing user requirements and the rapid advancement of technology. Among the issues of complexity, the one related to systems safety has attracted great deal of attention lately in the development of the products ranging from mass-transportation systems to defence weapon systems. As such, the incorporation of safety requirements in systems development is becoming more important. Note, however, that since such safety-critical systems are usually complex to develop, a lot of organizations and thus, engineers should participate in the development. In general, there seems to be a variety of differences in both the breadth and depth of the technical background they own. To address the problems, at first this paper presents an effective design process for safety-critical systems, which is intended to meet both the systems design and safety requirements. The result is then advanced to obtain the models utilizing the systems modeling language (SysML) that is a de facto industry standard. The use of SysML can facilitate the construction of the integrated process and also foster active communication among many participants of diverse technical backgrounds. As a case study, the model-based development of high-speed trains is discussed.

자동화된 변전소의 주변압기 사고복구를 위한 패턴인식기법에 기반한 실시간 모선재구성 전략 개발 (Real-Time Bus Reconfiguration Strategy for the Fault Restoration of Main Transformer Based on Pattern Recognition Method)

  • This paper proposes an expert system based on the pattern recognition method which can enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of real-time bus reconfiguration strategy for the transfer of faulted load when a main transformer fault occurs in the automated substation. The minimum distance classification method is adopted as the pattern recognition method of expert system. The training pattern set is designed MTr by MTr to minimize the searching time for target load pattern which is similar to the real-time load pattern. But the control pattern set, which is required to determine the corresponding bus reconfiguration strategy to these trained load pattern set is designed as one table by considering the efficiency of knowledge base design because its size is small. The training load pattern generator based on load level and the training load pattern generator based on load profile are designed, which are can reduce the size of each training pattern set from max L/sup (m+f)/ to the size of effective level. Here, L is the number of load level, m and f are the number of main transformers and the number of feeders. The one reduces the number of trained load pattern by setting the sawmiller patterns to a same pattern, the other reduces by considering only load pattern while the given period. And control pattern generator based on exhaustive search method with breadth-limit is designed, which generates the corresponding bus reconfiguration strategy to these trained load pattern set. The inference engine of the expert system and the substation database and knowledge base is implemented in MFC function of Visual C++ Finally, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed expert system is verified by comparing the best-first search solution and pattern recognition solution based on diversity event simulations for typical distribution substation.

수동형 감요수조 설계를 위한 벤치테스터 개발 (Development of Bench Tester for Designing the Passive Anti-Rolling Tanks)

  • It is important to use bench test results in the design process of anti-rolling tanks. Traditional bench tester is usually designed to perform only roll motions about a fixed axis and relatively small so that the viscous effects may not be neglected. Novel bench tester which could adjust the motion center to realize the coupled motion of sway and roll has been devised and manufactured therefore, large scaled bench tester could be utilized for designing the passive anti-rolling tanks. The time history of the reference signal from the rotation sensor of the bench tester have been recorded and processed to determine the phase angle to derive the Response Amplitude Operator(RAO) of the stabilized ship. The breadth of ART tank model should be large up to 2 m to diminish viscous scale effect and the vertical position of the tank can be varied with the ship's center of motion. The periods and the amplitude of roll motion can be varied from 1.5 sec to 5 sec and up to ±20°, respectively. The components of the tester was expressed in three dimensional digital mockup (DMU) and assembled together in the CAD space. The final configuration of the bench tester has been determined by confirming the smooth operation of the moving parts without interference through the animation in CAD space. New analytic logic are introduced for the determination of hydrodynamic moment and phase difference due to fluid motion in ART and verified through the test. The developed bench tester is believed to be effective and accurate for the verification of stabilization effect of ART taking into the consideration of the sway effect in the design stage.

  • The aqua-acupuncture blended with liquid medicine and acupuncture is known to be effective in treating various medical disorders. This study used gallbladders of bear (WoongDam, WD, Ursus arctos Linne) and pig(JeoDam, JD, Sus scrofa domestica Brisson) plus the stones from the ox gallbladder(WooHwang, WH, Bos taurus var, domesticus Gmelin) to produce the liquid medicine. For the acupuncture, acupoint of ST -36 which is located one finger breadth from the anterior crest of the tibia was selected. There were a couple of purposes in this experiment. First, the relationship between aqua-acupuncture and gastric activity was scrutinized. Secondly, the possibility of pig gallbladder as an alternative organ to bear gallbladder for making liquid medicine was evaluated. Thirdly, different injection concentration ratio of liquid medicine was tried to figure out the optimal dosage for the aqua-acupuncture. The data of the present results indicated that the mixtures of WD + WH and JD + WH have a similar hypotonic effect on the stomach. These findings illustrated that aqua-acupuncture or hydroacupuncture showed inhibitory effect on the stomach in addition to its well-known prophylactic value. Also the possible alternative medical organ of pig gallbladder was checked out since two mixtures illustrated very similar trends in suppressing the gastric activity. The injection concentration ratio was not very different between two mixtures in terms of gastric motility except a couple of ratio. In conclusion, the aqua-acupuncture is a promising way to control the gastric activity for better medical purposes and the gallbladder of pig was assessed as a prospective one for making a liquid medicine.

재화중량 8, 000 톤급 Barge선의 침로안정성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study On the Course-Keeping of an 8,000 DWT Barge ship)

  • 바지(barge)선이 예인선에 의해 예인삭으로 예인될때 예인시스템의 특성상 yaw운동이 일어나 큰 sway운동이 발생할 수 있다. 특히, 바람이나 파랑들의 외력의 작용에 의해 바지선이 과대한 운동을 일으키게 되어 예인이 곤란하거나, 심할경우 예인선이나 예인물이 전복되는 사례가 보고되고 있다. 따라서 예인물의 침로 안정성은 주변 항해 선박의 안정성과도 관계되어 여러가지 측면에서 중요한 문제로 다루어져 왔다. 본 연구는 8, 000톤급 바지선의 침로 안정성에 관한 회류수조와 예인수조의 시험 결과이다. 여러가지 형태의 스케그(skeg)를 바지선의 선미부에 부착하여 정수 및 불규칙파에서 침로안정성 시험을 수행하였다. 8,000톤급 바지선이 스케그 부착없이 예인선으로 예인될때 sway 운동의 진폭은 바지선폭의 약 10배정도인것이, 효과적인 스케그의 부착으로 진폭을 0으로 만들어 침로 안정성을 유지할수있음을 보였다.
