This study covers an investigation using meta-analysis of the factors related to the effects of singing activities for children, focusing on the dissertations conducted for master and doctor degrees and the studies published in academic journals over the past 16 years. Ameta-regression analysis was conducted to examine the changes of the factors in each published year. The analysis results were as follows: Both the entire effect size and the groups of singing activity related factors were revealed to have significant effect sizes. While the group of social factors and the group of cultural & artistic factors showed large effect sizes, the group of psychological & emotional factors appeared to have an intermediate effect size. The sub-factors of the group of social factors were shown to have significantly larger effect sizes than the others, except for the factor of capability of recognizing others. Among the sub-factors, naturally friendly behavior showed relatively larger effect size than the others. In the sub-factors of the group of psychological & emotional factors, self-expression capability and self-control capability showed large effect sizes and stress suppression and emotional intelligence showed intermediate effect sizes. Among the sub-factors of the group of cultural & artistic factors, except for creative capability which showed an intermediate effect size, all of the sub-factors showed large effect sizes. According to the results of the analysis of the trend of the effect size changes in each published year, the trends of the entire effect size and the effect size of each factor, such as the groups of social factors, psychological & emotional factors and cultural & artistic factors, showed that the activity effects increase as the publication year comes closer to the most recent year.

It is important to consider an effect of concrete member sizes when estimating the ACI rectangular stress block of a reinforced concrete flexural member. However, the experimental data and analytical analyses are still not available for a proper evaluation. For all types of loading conditions, the trend is that the size of an ACI rectangular stress block tends to change when the member sizes change. In this paper, the size variations of strength coefficients for ACI rectangular stress block and actual stress distribution have been studied. Results of a series of C-shaped specimens subjected to axial compressive load and bending moment were adopted from references 1 and 2. The analysis results show that the effect of specimen sizes on strength coefficients for ACI rectangular stress block and actual stress distribution of concrete member was apparent. Thus, the results suggest that the current strength criteria based design practice should be reviewed.
This study was designed to observe the effect of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) supplementation on body fatness, fat cell sizes and leptin levels in male Sprague Dawley rats. Following weaning, forty rats were divided into 4 groups beef tallow (BT), fish oil (FO). beef tallow with CLA supplementation (BTC), and fish oil with CLA supplementation (FOC) group. For four weeks, all rats were fed experimental diets containing 12% of total dietary fat (w/w) with or without 1% CLA. After 4 weeks, the animals were sacrificed; the total carcass fat, plasma leptin levels, epididymal fat pad weights and fat cell sizes in adipose tissue were measured. CLA supplementation did not significantly affect the rat's body weights, total body fat, epididymal fat pad weights, and fat cell sizes. CLA also did not have a significant effect on plasma leptin levels. These results suggest that CLA supplement was not an effective way to reduce the body weights of male Sprague Dawley rats.
Irradiation is a phenomenon that causes white objects on a black background to appear to spread into near dark backgrounds, but the reverse is not. In this study, the effects of font size and thickness of letters on the legibility were investigated in combinations of black letters/white background as well as white letters/black background. Ten subjects who had been no disease of eyes and their eyesight is over 1.0 were recruited and tested subjective assessments of letter sizes for various font sizes (2pt to 80pt) and thickness of letters (normal, bold) under 600lux illumination and 50cm-distance of eyes and target letters for this study. Ming-style font type which was generally used in text of books, papers, and journals were tested in this study. Results showed that generally people subjectively assessed the white letters on black background (W/B) were larger sizes of letters than the black letters on white background (B/W) even both letter sizes were the same in both normal and bold thickness of letters. This phenomenon was happened in case of only over 22 font size (with border line about 22~24pts). Less than 22 font sizes, many people reported that both letters (W/B and B/W) are looks the same sizes in normal as well as bold letters. These findings were interpreted also by the irradiation phenomenon and more detail information was presented in this manuscript.

UV curing technology becomes important in various sectors of applications due to the high efficiency, environmental protection and saving energy. Above all, It is necessary to consider the formulation of glass fiber sizes in some detail to achieve this study since they are governed by the products to be made and their performance in the composites made form them. The effect of glass fiber sizes against UV curing system was investigated by the method of changing size formulation. Nanosil 700 was used in order to increase curing efficiency. Yellow effect was not observed at the 1% fiber sizer content.
Objectives: This paper aims to serve as a useful guide for sample size determination for various correlation analyses that are based on effect sizes and confidence interval width. Materials and Methods: Sample size determinations are calculated for Pearson's correlation, Spearman's rank correlation, and Kendall's Tau-b correlation. Examples of sample size statements and their justification are also included. Results: Using the same effect sizes, there are differences between the sample size determination of the 3 statistical tests. Based on an empirical calculation, a minimum sample size of 149 is usually adequate for performing both parametric and non-parametric correlation analysis to determine at least a moderate to an excellent degree of correlation with acceptable confidence interval width. Conclusions: Determining data assumption(s) is one of the challenges to offering a valid technique to estimate the required sample size for correlation analyses. Sample size tables are provided and these will help researchers to estimate a minimum sample size requirement based on correlation analyses.
The compressive strength of concrete is used as the most basic and important material Property when reinforced concrete structures are designed. It has become a problem to use this value, however, because the control specimen sizes and shapes are different from every country. In this study, the effect of specimen sizes and shapes on compressive strength of concrete specimens was experimentally investigated based on fracture mechanics. Experiments for the Mode I failure was carried out by using cylinder, cube, and prism specimens. The test results are curve fitted using least square method(LSM) to obtain the new parameters for the modified size effect law(MSEL). The analysis results show that the effect of specimen sizes and shapes on ultimate strength is apparent. In addition, correlations between compressive strengths with size, shape, and casting direction of the specimen are investigated. For cubes and prisms the effect of placing direction on the compressive strength was investigated.
Lots of the studies about the relationship between coaching leadership and organizational effectiveness have been conducted and reported that coaching leadership is one of the main factors which impact organizational effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to synthesize the relationship between coaching leadership and organizational effectiveness. For that purpose, 32 correlation effect sizes from 25 studies were analyzed by the CMA (Comprehensive Meta-analysis) Program. The study calculated the overall effect size of the relationship between coaching leadership and organizational effectiveness. Then, it also calculated the effect size of the relationship between coaching leadership and each sub-variable of organizational effectiveness. The analysis results are as follows: First, the overall effect size about the relationship between coaching leadership and organizational effectiveness was .519, which means that coaching leadership has over lager relationship with organizational effectiveness. In addition, the effect sizes of sub-variables of the organization are .556 (organizational commitment) .542 (job satisfaction), 509 (organizational citizen behavior), and .401 (innovative behavior). The study tested the mediating effects of measurements, organizational size, types of publication, and published year. The result showed that only the measurement made significant differences among effect sizes of studies.
The purpose of this study was to classify the results of previous studies on the cognitive function improvement program of the elderly into the cognitive impairment group and the normal group to compare the effect sizes of the groups using meta - analysis. Among the previous studies on cognitive function improvement programs reported in Korea for the last five years, 86 were selected and the effect sizes were summarized using meta-analysis. As a result of the study, the overall average effect size showed a large effect size in both groups. The effect sizes of the intervention types were high for the cognitive impairment group, and the exercise and cognitive-based interventions were similar for the normal group. The gender effect size was higher for the women with cognitive impairment group, and higher for the combined case with normal group. The effect sizes according to group size were higher for 20 persons in cognitive impairment group and higher for 21~40 persons in normal group. The total number of sessions in both groups was higher than 32 times, The number of sessions per week was 3 times for the cognitive impairment group, 4 to 6 times for the normal group. The duration of activity was 55~60 minutes in cognitive impairment group and 70~180 minutes in normal group as the number of sessions and activity time increased the effect size was higher in normal group. This study will be meaningful in that it provided basic data necessary for future program development by comparing and analyzing the effect sizes of the cognitive function improvement program type and the activity factors between the cognitive impairment group and the normal group.
