  • The authors have effectively treated a case of true trigeminal neuralgia involving the 3rd branch of the 5th cranial nerve by mandibular nerve block with alcohol and Dilantin administration, and reached following results. 1. Alcohol injection has a definite value as the primary treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. 2. It is not yet to be clarified whether the effects of alcohol injection and Dilantin therapy reveal synergism. 3. Phenobarital was given as an adjuvant of Dilantin, but its effect on the painful paroxysms is questionable.

  • Poly(trimethylene terephthalate)(PTT) fiber was pretreated with organic solvent/water solution of various compositions. The organic solvents used in this experiment were benzyl alcohol, n-buthanol, and N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF). Density of the fibers were investigated as a measure of crystallite region. The dye uptake increased in the order of pretreatment with hot water < untreated < 5% benzyl alcohol < 100% benzyl alcohol < 90% benzyl alcohol; hot water < untreated $\risingdotseq$ 5% butanol < 100% beutanol < 90% butanol; hot water $\risingdotseq$ 5% DMF < untreated < 90% DMF < 100% DMF. The dye uptake increases with increase of crystallinity. It seems likely that the recrystallization process during the pretreatment with organic solvent/water solutions leads to an increase in the microvoid and then a large increase in the dye uptake. Also the dyeing rate increased and the dyeing transition temperature decreased with the pretreatments. The results obtained are corresponds with the plasticization of the fiber structure formed during the pretreatrnent.

Dodecyl Alcohol이 첨가된 P.E에서 온도변화에 따른 Treeing에 관한 연구 (The Study on Treeing under the Temperature Variation in Low Density Polyethylene Mixed with Dodecyl Alcohol)

  • Insulation of P.E insulated cable under the field of high-voltage will be breakdown ultimately due to the degradation process called 'Treeing' which is generated in the insulation, so long as any counter-measure suppressing or eliminating it could not be provided. In this paper as a counter-measure Dodecyl Alcohol is mixed with P.E and Treeing under the temperature variation has been observed. Results show that the larger weight ratio of Dodecyl Alcohol is stronger the effect of suppressing Tree ing in the range from room temperature to 40$^{\circ}C$ and generated Treeing has been soon eliminated and it never again generated.

고농도 산소수로 재배한 콩나물 추출 음료의 알코올 분해 효능 (Effect of a Soy-Sprout Beverage Prepared with High-Concentrated Oxygen Water on Alcohol Metabolism in Rats)

  • 본 연구는 고농도 산소수로 재배한 콩나물을 당침하여 제조한 콩나물 추출 음료의 숙취해소 효능을 확인하기 위해 콩나물 자체의 asparagine 함량 및 ADH와 ALDH 효소활성을 확인하고 알코올과 콩나물 추출 음료 분말을 투여한 쥐의 혈중 알코올 농도, 아세트알데하이드 농도, ALT, AST 및 ALP를 측정하였다. 고농도 산소수로 재배한 콩나물은 시판중인 콩나물에 비해 asparagine 함량이 높게 나타나 숙취해소 효능을 증가시킬 것으로 예상되었다. 알코올을 경구 투여한 쥐에 콩나물 추출 음료 분말을 투여한 경우 혈중 알코올 농도는 알코올만 투여한 대조군에 비해 1시간, 5시간 경과 후에 유의적으로 감소하였으며 혈중 아세트알데하이드 농도 또한 콩나물 추출 음료 분말 고농도 투여군(SEH)에서 1시간, 3시간, 5시간 경과 후 모두 유의적인 감소를 보였다. 또한 고농도의 콩나물 추출 음료 분말은 시판중인 숙취해소 음료 분말 양성대조군(PC)보다 더 뛰어난 알코올 분해능을 보였으며 ALT, AST 및 ALP 측정 결과에서도 콩나물 추출 음료 분말 고농도 투여군(SEH)의 ALT 농도가 알코올투여군(AC) 및 시판숙취해소 음료 분말 양성대조군(PC)에 비해 유의적으로 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이상과 같은 결과를 토대로 할 때 콩나물 당침 추출물을 이용한 콩나물 추출 음료는 숙취해소에 기여하고 간세포의 손상을 보호할 수 있는 음료로서 이용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

나노임프린트 리소그래피와 유연 PVA 템플릿을 이용한 렌즈 표면 moth-eye 패턴 형성에 관한 연구 (Fabrication of Moth-Eye Pattern on a Lens Using Nano Imprint Lithography and PVA Template)

  • Antireflection pattern, moth-eye structure, was fabricated on lens using Ultra Violet nanoimprint lithography and flexible template. Ni template with conical shaped structure was used as a master template to molding. The flexible poly vinyl alcohol template was fabricated by molding. This poly vinyl alcohol template was used as an imprint template of imprint at lens. Using Ultra Violet nanoimprint lithography and poly vinyl alcohol template, polymer based moth-eye structure was formed on lens and its transmittance was increased up to 94% from 92% at 550 nm wavelength.

  • Spraque-Dawley계 웅성흰쥐에 계통분획한 소엽의 각 분획물을 경구투여하고 혈청 Ethanol농도와 간의 ADH활성에 미치는 효과를 검색 추적한 결과 알코올대사를 촉진시키는 성분은 주로 에탄올가용부에, 억제시키는 성분은 에탄올불용부에 주로 존재함을 추정할 수 있었고 현재 활성성분을 분리중에 있다.

추출방식에 따른 방풍통성산(防風通聖散)이 지방세포 대사에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Bangpungtongsung-san Extracts on Adipocyte Metabolism)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Bangpungtongsung-san extracts on the preadipocytes proliferation, of 3T3-L1 cell line. lipolysis of adipocytes in rat's epididymis and localized fat accumulation of porcine by extraction methods(alcohol and water). Methods : Diminish 3T3-L1 proliferation and lipogenesis do primary role to reduce obesity. So, 3T3-L1 preadipocyte and adipocytes were performed on cell cultures, and using Sprague-Dawley rats for the lipogenesis, and treated with 0.01-$1mg/m{\ell}$ Bangpungtongsung-san Extracts depend on concentrations. Porcine skin including fat tissue after treated Bangpungtongsung-san Extracts by means of the dosage dependent variation are investigated the histologic changes after injection of these extracts. Results : Following results were obtained from the 3T3-L1 preadipocyte proliferation and lipolysis of adipocyte in rats and histologic investigation of fat tissue. 1. Bangpungtongsung-san extracts were showed the effect of decreased preadipocyte proliferation on the high dosage($1.0mg/m{\ell}$). 2. Bangpungtongsung-san extracts were showed the effect of decreased the activity of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase(GPDH) on the high dosage($1.0mg/m{\ell}$) and Specially, alcohol extract of Bangpungtongsung-san was clear as time goes by high concentration. 3. Bangpungtongsung-san extracts were showed tries to compare the effect of lipolysis, alcohol extract of Bangpungtongsung-san on the high dosage($1.0mg/m{\ell}$) was observed the effect is higher than water extract. 4. Investigated the histological changes in porcine fat tissue after treated Bangpungtongsung-san extracts, we knew that water extract of Bangpungtongsung-san was showed the effect of lipolysis on the high dosage($10.0mg/m{\ell}$) and alcohol extract of Bangpungtongsung-san was showed significant activity to the lysis of cell membranes in all concentration. Conclusion : These results suggest that Bangpungtongsung-san efficiently induces diminish proliferation of preadipocyte and lipolysis in adipose tissue.

Naltrexone과 ondansetron의 병합투여가 C57BL/6형 생쥐의 알코올 섭취량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ondansetron Alone and Combination of Naltrexone and Ondansetron on Alcohol Intake in C57BL/6 Mice)

  • 알코올 의존의 음주 행동에 VTA에서 NA로 뻗어 있는 도파민 대뇌 보상 경로가 중요하다. 이러한 경로의 토파민 활성도가 $5-HT_3$계 신경에 의하여 조정되고 있으며, $5-HT_3$ 수용체 길항제인 ondansetron (OND)이 알코올리즘 환자에서 음주량을 감소시키고 금주률을 높인다는 보고가 있다. 이에 생쥐의 섭취량에 대하여 $5-HT_3$ 수용체 길항제인 ondansetron의 투여 효과와, 이러한 ondansetron 및 비 특이적 아편계 수용체 길항제인 naltrexone (NTX)과의 병합 투여 효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 알코올 의존화 된 C57BL/6형 수컷 생쥐를 4군으로 나눈 뒤, 10일간 각 군에 vehicle, OND 0.01 mg/kg 단독, NTX 1.0 mg/kg 단독, 및 OND 0.01 mg/kg과 NTX 1 mg/kg 병합 투여하면서 2시간 알코올의 섭취량, 22시간 물 섭취량, 24시간 사료 섭취량 및 체중을 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 2시간 알코올 섭취량의 10일간 변화에 대해 vehicle 투여 군과 나머지 3군의 약물 투여군과 repeated measure ANOVA를 이용하여 각각 비교하였을 때, vehicle 투여군과 NTX 단독 투여군간에 유의한 교차가 관찰되었으나 (p=0.042), OND 단독 투여군과 NTX과 OND 병합 투여군은 vehicle 투여군과 유의한 차이가 없었다. 일별 2시간 알코올 섭취량에 대하여 NTX 투여군과 vehicle 투여군의 군간 비교시 vehicle 투여군에 비하여 NTX 투여군에서 약물 투여 4일부터 10일까지 유의하게 감소하였다(4일 p=0.010; 6일 p=0.050; 8일 p=0.017; 10일 p=0.005). 그리고 NTX과 OND 병합 투여군과 vehicle 투여군의 양군을 비교하였을 때에는 2시간 알코올 섭취량이 4일과 10일에만 유의하게 감소하였다(4일 p=0.049; 10일 p=0.022). 그러나 22시간 물 섭취량, 24시간 사료 섭취량 및 체중의 10일간 변화에 대해 vehicle 투여군과 나머지 3 군의 약물 투여군과의 repeated measure ANOVA를 이용하여 각각 비교하였을 때, 모두 유의한 교차효과가 없었다. 이상의 결과는 생쥐의 섭취량에 대하여 OND의 투여 효과는 없었으며, OND과 NTX의 병합 투여시에는 NTX의 알코올의 섭취량 억제 효과가 감소되었다. 따라서 앞으로 $5-HT_3$ 신경계와 도파민 및 아편 신경계와의 상관관계에 대한 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

위액분비 및 실험적 위손상에 대한 해당근 엑기스의 효과 (Effect of the Rosa rugosa Extract on the Rat with the Alcohol-salicylate-induced Gastropathy)

  • This study was undertaken to evaluate the gastrotherapeutic effects of the extract of Rosa rugosa. It can be regarded that the antigastric and anti-ulcerative effect of Rosa rugosa is originated from the reduction of total acid output identified by gastric secretion test. To clarify the protective mechanism of the Rosa rugosa extract, the gastropathy was induced in rats with alcohol-salicylate and the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes were examined. The acitivity of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxide were significantly increased and the total content of glutathione was recovered. We concluded that the protective effect of the extract of Rosa rugosa on gastropathy in rats is its ability increased the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes.

Fire resistance of hybrid fiber reinforced SCC: Effect of use of polyvinyl-alcohol or polypropylene with single and binary steel fiber

  • This study presents the experimental results performed to evaluate the effects of Polyvinyl-alcohol (PVA) and Polypropylene (PP) fibers on the fresh and residual mechanical properties of the hybrid fiber reinforced SCC before and after the exposure of 250℃, 500℃ and 750℃ temperatures. The compressive and splitting tensile strength, modulus of rupture (MOR), ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) as well as toughness and weight loss were investigated at different temperatures. PVA and PP fibers were added into SCC mixtures having only macro steel fiber and also having binary hybridization of both macro and micro steel fiber. The results showed that the use of micro steel fiber replaced by macro steel fiber improved the fresh and hardened properties compared to the use of only macro steel fiber. Moreover, it was emphasized that PVA or PP enhanced the residual flexural performance of SCC, generally, while it negatively influenced the workability, weight loss, UPV and the residual strengths with regards to the use of single steel fiber and binary steel fiber hybridization. Compared to the effect of synthetic fibers, PP had slightly more positive effect in the view of workability while PVA enhanced the residual mechanical properties more.
