This paper presents the analyses of the effect of inserting border lines between different color regions on edge detection in color codes, and is not intended to present any new algorithm for color-code recognition. With its role to complement the RFID (radio frequency identification) and the wide and fast spread of digital cameras, an interest on color codes is fast increasing. However, the severe distortion of colors in obtained images prohibits color codes from expanding their applications. To reduce the effect of color distortion it is desirable to process the whole pixels in each color region statistically, instead of relying on some pixels sampled from the region. This requires segmentation, and the segmentation usually requires edge detection. To help detect edges not disconnected, we inserted border lines of the width of two pixels between adjacent color regions. Two colors were used for the border lines: one consisting of white pixels, and the other black pixels. The edge detection was performed on images with either of the two kinds of border lines inserted, and the results were compared to results without inserted border lines. We found that inserting black border lines degraded edge detection by causing zipper effect while inserting white border lines improved it compared to the cases without inserted border lines.
This study analyzes the experiences of a color therapy program that uses color and fashion directing to influence the psychological characteristics of adolescents, such as emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and color expression. The subjects of this study were 15 adolescents who participated in B-City Winter School (January 6-15, 2020). Pre- and post-tests for emotional intelligence and self-efficacy were conducted to confirm the effect of the color therapy program that indicated a significant difference at the p<.05 level. Statistical significance was confirmed through the GEE model for formal characteristics used in pre/post and fashion-directed color expression. Peter pre- and post-changes in vocabulary emergence were investigated with a Word Cloud analysis using R program 4.0.2 that extracted the lower and upper categories. The significance of this study is that by expressing both color expression and fashion direction together, a program was provided for adolescents to have richer emotional experiences and career-related experiences. This study examined changes within a short period of time in 15 subjects; consequently, a follow-up in-depth qualitative analysis of the program effect and a post-testing study on maintaining the long-term effect is expected to secure further validity and usefulness of the study results. In addition, new studies are expected to contribute to the development of differentiated fashion-related education programs.

This study investigates the interaction effects of mechanical property-based clusters and colorimetric tones on the subjective touch and color sensation of fabrics when sight and touch were simultaneously provided to humans. Each of six different silk fabrics was colored by digital textile printing to have three tones (pale, vivid, and grayish) and its mechanical properties were measured by a Kawabata Evaluation System (KES). Touch and color sensation were identified to be primarily influenced by mechanical property-based clusters and tones, respectively. In touch, 'smooth', 'warm', 'heavy', and 'soft' were found to be affected by interactive effects of mechanical property-based clusters and colorimetric tone so that the pale tone tended to make differences smaller among the clusters for the touch sensation, while the grayish tone seemed to contribute to larger differences of 'heavy'. However, an interaction effect was not found in the color sensation with touch even though the color sensation was also influenced by mechanical property-based clusters.
Expression of color in national animation often delivered vaguely. This study will make up for vaguely meaning in terms of expression in color. And this study is intend to look the strategy and error of color in regional animation. This study is intend to arrange the situation of synesthesia effect of color which is applied as a keyword 'light' of Gwang-ju's image. Moreover, There is a bit difficulty in using synesthesia of color, but the use possibility is full of suggestions. Therefore, For regional animation, this study intend that in order to establish a new regional specialized animation, appropriateness of synesthesia effect of color in based animation is inspected and then the potential is emphasized.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of design modification, decoration and color scheme of traditional Korean women's clothing on impression formation by 2 age groups of women. The instruments developed for the study were 2 sets of stimuli and a response scale. Stimuli I (design stimuli) consisted of 6 line drawings of female figures in Korean clothing and modified Korean style clothing, whereas stimuli II (color stimuli) consisted of 6 colored drawings of female figures in different color schemes. The 7-point semantic differential scale of 14 bipolar adjectives were used for the response scales. 144 female college students and 144 middle·aged women subjects were randomly assigned to one of 6 drawings from each set of stimuli. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, ANOVA and t-test. 1) There factors emerged to account for dimensions of design and color scheme, respectively. The first factor was interpreted as Evaluation/prestige both in design (stimuli I) and color scheme (stimuli II), the second factor was Modernity for stimuli I, and the third factor for stimuli I was Practicality. On the other hand, the Luxuriousness/Individuality was factor 2 and Modernity was factor 3 for stimuli ll. 2) Modification had the largest effect on impressions regarding design and decorated designs had a partial effect on the impression of Modernity and Practicality. The female figures in modified Korean style clothing were perceived as more prestigious, modern and practical than those in traditional Korean clothing. 3) Color schemes had little effect on impressions, while perceiver's age had a larger effect. Middle·aged women formed more positive impressions toward Korean clothing of various color schemes than female college students.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of color, shirt tone, tie tone, perceiver's gender on impression formation by applying tone on tone coloration of shirt and necktie: coloration of two colors. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 32 upper body photographs which were color outputs by CAD system(4D-box program). We unified those colors of shirts and neckties same, then made shirt and necktie tone differently. 27 bi-polar adjectives, each of which was graded into seven in its degree, were used to evaluate the impression. The subjects of this research were 192 male and 192 female college students in Gyeongnam province including Jinju City. The data was analyzed by using SPSS program. Analysis methods were four-way ANOVA. The items of the adjectives were classified into 5 impression dimension. - potency, activity, attractiveness, visibility and tenderness. Color, shirt tone, tie tone, and perceiver gender influenced on 5 impression formation by interaction as well as independently. Blue tie with vivid, light or dull tone had an effect on the formation of potency impression, vivid or light tone of shirt affected activity regardless of color or tie tone. As shirt and tie had different tone, effect on the formation of attractiveness impression, light tone had a negative effect on visibility but positive effect on tenderness. red color were more effective than blue expressed on visibility and tenderness in shirt or tie.
In the modern society, already a popular and public part of fashion, hair coloring has the effect of optical illusion on image. This study therefor aims to reveal the effects of varied and fashionable hair coloring on the body images. This is a combination of an actual examination and an experimental study. In order to know the effects of hair colors on body image, 230 female collegians residing in Busan were given a questionnaire on the reality of hair dyeing. Based on the actual research, one subject was selected and stimuli were manufactured. The analysis and examination of the effects of hair dyeing have produced the following conclusions. (1) As a result of dispersion analysis about the image effect according to hair colors, a meaningful difference is recognized in the item and indicates that hair color variation influences the image effect. (2) As a result, extracting the factors that hair colors can influence the image, 3 factors were extracted. The first factor is an intellectual image, the second factor is an active image, and the third factor is a comfortable image. (3) Image effect in hair colors are as same next. Red and Orange color clearly indicate the image of 'charismatic', 'lively', 'positive', 'active', 'light' and 'gorgeous'. Blue and Green color indicates the image of 'unfriendly', 'hard', 'cold' and 'uneasy'. White color indicates the image of 'unfriendly', 'charismatic', 'gorgeous' and 'impure' then Black color has images of 'friendly', 'intellectual', 'indignified' and 'pure'. In other words, the result indicates rather a different tendency comparison with the general color image.

Purpose: The effect of accelerated aging on color stability of various dual-cured self-adhesive resin cements were evaluated in this study. Materials and Methods: Color stability was examined using three different brands of dual-cured self-adhesive resin cements: G-CEM LinkAce (GC America), MaxCem Elite (Kerr), and PermaCem 2.0 (DMG) with the equivalent color shade. Each resin cement was filled with Teflon mold which has 6 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness. Each specimen was light cured for 20 seconds using light emitting diode (LED) light curing unit. In order to evaluate the effect of accelerated aging on color stability, color parameters (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage, CIE $L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$) and color differences (${\Delta}E^*$) were measured at three times: immediately, after 24 hours, and after thermocycling. The $L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$ values were analyzed using Friedman test and ${\Delta}E^*$ values on the effect of 24 hours and accelerated aging were analyzed using t-test. These values were compared with the limit value of color difference (${\Delta}E^*=3.7$) for dental restoration. One-way ANOVA and Scheff's test (P<0.05) were performed to analyze each ${\Delta}E^*$ values between cements at each test period. Result: There was statistically significant difference in comparison of color specification ($L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$) values after accelerated aging except $L^*$ value of G-CEM LinkAce (P<0.05). After 24 hours, color difference (${\Delta}E^*$) values were ranged from 2.47 to 3.48 and $L^*$ values decreased and $b^*$ values increased in all types of cement and MaxCem Elite had high color stability (P<0.05). After thermocycling, color change's tendency of cement was varied and color difference (${\Delta}E^*$) values were ranged from 0.82 to 2.87 and G-CEM LinkAce had high color stability (P<0.05). Conclusion: Color stability of dual-cured self-adhesive resin cements after accelerated aging was evaluated and statistically significant color changes occurred within clinically acceptable range.

The purpose of this study is to investigate harmonious color schemes based on a length proportion of upper and lower parts of a body by; understanding of the harmonious length proportion of a square measure of a color in color coordination of fashion design, and presenting a mutual relation of the length proportion of a square measure of a color according to the various way of color schemes and proportions. For this study, monochromatic scheme, analogous scheme and complementary scheme were adapted as the color schemes, and each color scheme was coordinated by analogous tone and contrast tone. Also, 1:1 symmetry proportion, 1:2 harmonic proportion, 1:1.618 golden section, 1:3 and 1:5 contrast proportion were used as the square measure of a color. For the survey, 12 sets of color sample were organized. The survey was conducted 182 of university students majored in fashion design, and 143 responded samples were analyzed using SPSS 12. The result of the study is as follows: 1:5 contrast proportion is most inharmonious in general, and 1:1 symmetry proportion is followed. It is thought that too much or same length of the square measure of colors has less attractive effect of coloring. On the other hand, 1:1.618 golden section and 1:2 harmonic proportion are accepted to be harmonious in all color schemes. The length proportion of the square measure of a color had more influence on harmony of color coordination in fashion design rather than color schemes. Though, on the assumption that people have a similar perception about the color image of fashion design, it will play an important role in strengthening or diminution of color in cloth if the coloring effect of the length proportion of the square measure of a color is used in fashion design and wearing of clothes.
People have more expectations for arts and design and accordingly, various artworks were combined with fashion to meet the consumer needs. As people live a decent life, the development of leisure activities and industry has a much effect on apparel. With this phenomenon, a free and active casual look is making progress centering around the practical apparel, pursuing diversified efficiency irrespective of a season and considering sensibility not formality. In this study, paintings of Henri Matisse were analyzed in every respect and were applied in apparel design with diverse color arrangement and a motif originating in the phenomenon of modern fashion design which leads to the integration of arts and design. Painting image and color of Henri Matisse were used. Sportive casual and cultural casual was used in design as well. Originality of its color in the paintings which were used an a motif is coming from Gauguin and Gogh. Henri had influenced to the next generation with pursuit of violent color. The following conclusions were drawn from this study. First, the color of Henri Matisse's paintings has a strong contrast effect. It combines notable violent color with a simple yet decorative motif. Therefore color from Matisse's paintings suit for apparel of marked individuality with its free color arrangement. Second, free and active image in Henri Matisse's paintings is easy to express efficiency and popularity. It accords with the feature of casual wear. Third, through adding a flowing curved line in Henri Matisse's paintings to materials and applying various colors putting into a curved line image to a rib section, a decorative effect which goes with the whole shape is obtained. This study presents possibility of emergence of unique design using free color arrangement and motif from the image of paintings and aims development of modern fashion design in accordance with modern fashion giving importance to the difference and sensibility by integration of modern garments and artworks.
