서울${\cdot}$경기와 강원지역의 잡곡밥의 섭취실태 및 만족도에 대한 조사 (A Survey on the Consumption and Satisfaction Degree of the Cooked Rice Mixed with Multi-Grain in Seoul${\cdot}$Kyeonggi and Kangwon Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the consumption and perception on the effect of cooked rice mixed with multi-grain (CR-MG). Reason for like and dislike, intake frequency and variables related with the satisfaction of CR-MG were also investigated. The data for the analysis was collected from 315 adults who were residing at Seoul${\cdot}$Kyeonggi and Kangwon area and analyzed by the SPSS 11.0 program. The result showed that 84.8% of the respondents consumed CR-MG, showing significant difference by gender and occupation (p<0.05). It also revealed that they consumed it knowing their effect, showing significant difference by all general characteristics except for resident area and BMI, respectively. Kind of multi-grain (MG) mixed with cooked rice was high in the order of SoRiTae (80.1%) > brown rice (73.4%) > black rice (72.7%) > waxy rice (61.0%), respectively. As for the mixing type of MG, 61.4% of the respondents preferred non-mixed product rather than pre-mixed product. 2 or 3 kinds were preferred numbers of MG mixed with rice, showing significant difference by age (p<0.001) and marital status(p<0.05), respectively. 59.9% of the respondents answered 'high nutritive value more than polished rice' as the major reason for like, whereas 31.3% answered 'greatly rough more than polished rice' as that for dislike, respectively. By the use of multiple regression analysis, it revealed that health was the most significant variable which affect the satisfaction of CR-MG. From these results, it was suggested that in view of the high consumption and intention to continue the intake of CR-MG, following studies should be conducted to improve the preference of CR-MG.

  • In this study, two things were analyzed for Korean Standards certification factory review evaluation items. First, it was examined whether there is a difference between the Practice of factory review evaluation items and Post-Management according to the change in perception of the factory review evaluation items of Korean Standards certification personnel. Second, the moderating effect of the Korean Standards certification personnel's perception of the effect of the Practice of the factory review evaluation items of Korean Standards certification personnel on Post-Management was verified. Although there is a statistically significant difference between Practice and Post-Management according to changes in perception of Korean Standards personnel, there is no statistically significant difference in the impact (slope) of Practice on Post-Management according to changes in perception of Korean Standards certification personnel. As the perception of factory review evaluation items increases, the Practice and Post-Management of factory review evaluation items are increasing, but the impact of the Practice of factory review evaluation items on Post-Management does not affect it. In order to further advance Korean Standards certification, which plays an important role in maintaining the quality level of products produced by companies, efforts to raise the level of perception of Korean Standards certification personnel are considered necessary.

유산균 발효유의 장기 섭취가 미취학 아동의 구강 생태에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of Long-Term Intake of Fermented Milk on Oral Ecology in Preschool Children)

  • As fermented milk has been regarded as health food, the consumption of fermented milk has been increasing significantly these days. But there is not sufficient information on the effect of fermented milk on oral health. We have investigated the effect of long-term intake of t\fermented milk on saliva in preschool children, Sixty-four healthy, unmedicated preschool children were included in this study and were divided into control, fermented milk, and milk groups. The experimental period was 210days. We investigated the number of slaivary S. mutans, lactobacilli, and Candida, salivary pH, viscosity, and the concentration of salivary IgA at the beginning of the experiment. We examined these parameters at 10, 60, 110, 160, and 210 days after. The obtained results were as follows : 1. There were increases in the numbers of slaivary S. mutans in all groups through the experimental period. But, there was no consistent and significant difference among groups. 2. There was no significant change in the number of salivary lactobacilli in the fermented milk group throughout the experimental period. 3. The numbers of salivary Candida in the fermented milk and milk groups showed less fluctuation than that of the control group through the experimental period. 4. There was no decrease of salivary pH in all groups through the experimental period. 5. There were increases in the values of salivary viscosity in all groups. But, there was no consistent and significant difference among groups. 6. There were no consistent and significant difference in the concentration of salivary IgA in all groups through the experimental period. 7. There were increases of dmfs rate in all groups. But, there were no significant difference within each groups.

한국잔디식재 옥상녹화의 온도저감 및 증발산량 평가 (Assessment of Temperature Reduction and Evapotranspiration of Green Roof Planted with Zoysia japonica)

  • This was an experimental study to evaluate temperature reduction and evapotranspiration of extensive green roof. Three test cells with a dimension of $1.2(W){\times}1.2(D){\times}1.0(H)$ meters were built using 4-inch concrete blocks. Ten-centimeter concrete slab was installed on top of each cell. The first cell was control cell with no green roof installed. The second and third cells were covered with medium-leaf type Zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica) above a layer of soil. Soil thickness on the second cell was 10cm and that on the third cell was 20cm. Air temperature, relative humidity and solar irradiance were measured using AWS (automatic weather system). Temperature on top surface and ceiling of the control cell and temperature on top surface, below soil and ceiling of green roof cells was measured. Evapotranspiration of the green roof cells were measured using weight changes. Compared with temperature difference on the control cell, temperature difference was greater on green roof cells. Between two green roof cells, the temperature difference was greater on the third cell with a thicker soil layer. Temperature differences below soil and on ceilings of green roof cells were found greater than those of the control cell. Between the green roof cells, there was no difference in the temperature reduction effects below soil and on ceilings based on substrate depth. In summary, green roof was found effective in temperature reduction due to evapotranspiration and shading effect.

간질교육 프로그램이 성인 간질환자의 자기효능과 자기관리에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of a Epilepsy Education Program on Self Efficacy and Self Management in Patients with Epilepsy)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the effects of a epilepsy education program as a nursing intervention for patients with epilepsy. A quasi treatment research (non equivalent control group pretest-posttest design) was used in this study. The subjects were 40 epilepsy patients visiting an outpatient department of a general hospital in Daegu city.(treatment group : 20 patients, control group : 20 patients). The study was carried out from June, 1998 to September, 1998. Data was collected before the education program (pretest), immedately after(posttest 1) and 4 weeks later(posttest 2) and were analyzed with repeated measures ANOVA, t-test, Chi-sqare test and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results are as follows : There was a significant difference in epilepsy self efficacy between two groups(F=26.27, p=.000). There was a significant difference according to pretest, posttest 1 and posttest 2(F=111.20, p=.000), and interaction effect between treatment and time(F=109.42, p=.000). There was a significant difference in epilepsy self management between two groups(F=78.02, p=.000). There was a significant difference according to pretest, posttest 1 and posttest 2 test(F=94.02, p=.000), and interaction effect between treatment and time(F=88.14, p=.000). There was a significant correlation(r=.76, p=.000) between epilepsy self efficacy and epilepsy self management. These results suggest that a epilepsy education program is effective ill promoting self efficacy and self management of the patient with epilepsy. Thus this program can be recommended as an effective nursing intervention for the epilepsy patients.

The Effect of Whole Body Vibration Exercise on Ankle Joint Spasticity Patients with Chronic Stroke

  • Purpose: This study aimed to determine the appropriate stimulus strength that could result in a positive effect on the ankle joint spasticity when patients with chronic stroke performed whole body vibration (WBV) exercise. Methods: Among 72 patients who were diagnosed with stroke at least 6 months ago, those able to perform a half squat pose with ambulation issues due to ankle joint spasticity (modified Ashworth scale, $MAS{\geq}2$) were included for analysis. Individuals participated in four different frequencies of vertical WBV exercise; 0 Hz, 10 Hz, 20 Hz, and 30 Hz. Vibration amplitude was 3-4 mm and 5 minutes WBV exercise was performed at each frequency, followed by a measurement after 2-minute rest. We assigned 18 individuals to each frequency and asked them to participate in the WBV exercise once every 3 weeks. The level of spasticity was evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS) for self-assessment. The myoton PRO was utilized to objectively evaluate the level of spasticity and check the muscle tone and stiffness. Results: Participants showed 0 Hz VAS was a significant difference between 20 Hz application conditions (p<0.05). Muscle tone was significantly different at 0 Hz between 20 Hz, and 30 Hz (p<0.05), significantly difference at 10 Hz between 30 Hz (p<0.05). Muscle stiffness significantly difference at 0 Hz between 20 Hz, and 30 Hz (p<0.05), significantly difference at 10 Hz between 20 Hz, and 30 Hz (p<0.05). Conclusion: Findings of this study show that the frequency of more than 20 Hz was effective in improving the ambulatory ability in patients with chronic stroke. Currently, the effective WBV protocol is limited. Hence, this study was designed to suggest an effective WBV protocol to improve neuromodulation ability for chronic stroke patients.

  • The present study investigate the effect of newly designed toothbrush(Chess tip : experimental group), conventional toothbrush(control group) on plaque control, gingivitis, and periodontitis. The results of 4weeks post-research by clinical comparison between the two groups are as follows. 1. In analysis of plaque index between groups there was Significant difference in the experimental group at 2,4 week. 2. In analysis of gingival index between groups there was significant difference in the experimental group at 1,2,4 week. 3. Both experimental group and control group showed decrease in periodontal pocket depth after 4week, but there was significant difference in the experimental group at 4 week. 4. Both experimental group and control group showed decrease in bleeding on probing after 4week, but there was significant difference in the experimental group at 4 week. These results indicate that newly designed toothbrush has beneficial effects as additional aid of mechanical treatment at the point of periodontal pocket, plaque control, and bleeding on probing.

  • 본 연구의 첫 번째 목적은 Service Quality를 측정하는데 있어서 기대와 성과 측정치를 차감하는 차감식(Difference Score)에 의한 방법 (SERVQUAL), 지각된 성과만으로 개념화/조작화 하는 방법(SERVPERF), 차이를 한번에 직접 측정하는 방법 (non -difference score)중 어느 방법이 가장 타당한지를 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 두 번째 목적은 서비스품질 construct가 만족과 재구매의도에 대한 선행변수로서 갖는 이론적 가치를 조사하는 것이다. 부산, 경남의 376명의 60세 이상의 해외여행경험이 있는 노인들을 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어 졌다. 연구결과 SERVQUAL, SERVPERF와 비차이척도를 이용하는 방법의 비교결과 모델적합도를 나타내는 지수가 상충되게 나타났다 만족과 재구매의도에 미치는 영향력에 있어서는 대부분의 서비스품질 선행 구성변수들이 유의적인 영향력을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

단백질의 종류가 다른 식이에 L-카르니틴을 첨가했을 때 흰쥐의 지질대사에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary L-Carnitine Supplementation on Lipid Metabolism in Rats fed with Different Types Protein)

  • This study is to investigate the effect of dietary L-carnitine supplementation on lipid metabolism in rats fed with isolated soy protein and casein for their source of protein. Four experimental groups were organized and each group had eight Sprague-Dawley male rats with the initial weight of around 180g. The four groups were CO (casein only supplemented group); CC (casein and 3% L-carnitine supplemented group); ISO (isolated soy protein only supplemented group); ISC (isolated soy protein and 3% L-carnitine supplemented group). All groups were supplemented with the experimental diet for four weeks and carnitine comprised 3% of. their diet. The results were as follows; 1. There was no significant difference in food intake among the groups. 2. Final weight gain was significantly lower in the groups supplemented with isolated soy protein than in the groups supplemented with casein (P<0.05). The groups with supplemented casein and carnitine showed the effect of weight reduction (p<0.05). 3. Food efficiency ratio was lower in the groups supplemented with isolated soy protein than in the groups supplemented with casein (p<0.01). The groups supplemented with casein and carnitine showed low food efficiency ratio. 4. The serum total lipid was higher in the groups supplemented with casein than in the groups supplemented with isolated soy protein (p<0.05). 5. Serum total cholesterol was higher in the groups supplemented with casein than in the groups supplemented with isolated soy protein. 6. There was no significant difference in triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol in serum among the groups. 7. Out of the groups supplemented with isolated soy protein the total cholesterol level in liver was low in the groups to which carnitine was supplemented (p< 0.05). However, there was no significant difference of liver total lipid and triglyceride among the groups. 8. There was no difference in TBARS levels and GSH-Px activities in liver among the groups.

Crumbled or mashed feed had no significant effect on the performance of lactating sows or their offspring

  • Background: Physical and chemical properties of feedstuffs can be changed by feed processing. Moreover, through various mechanisms, feed processing can affect growth performance and feed efficiency of swine, nutrition value of the feed. Weaning-to service-intervals (WSI), subsequent farrowing rates, and total-born litter sizes were determined by feed intake and metabolic state during lactation. Methods: A total of 20 sows (Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire) with an average body weight (BW) of 266.1 kg 4 d before farrowing were used to determine the effect of feed processing on the performance of lactating sows and their offspring. The following two dietary treatments were used: 1) Crumble diet (C); and 2) Mash diet (M). Ten replications were used for each treatment. Back fat thickness of sows was measured 6 cm off the midline at the 10th rib using a real-time ultrasound instrument at 4 d before farrowing, 1 d after farrowing, and during weaning. Sow BW were also checked at 4 d before farrowing, 1 d after farrowing, and during weaning. Fecal score of sows were assessed on d 14. Fecal score of piglets were observed on d 7, 15, and 24. Data were analyzed using t-test procedure of SAS (2014) with sow as experimental unit. Results: No significant (p > 0.05) difference was observed in the reproduction performance of sows between the two treatments. In addition, there was no significant (p > 0.05) difference in the growth performance of piglets between the two treatments. Fecal score of sows or piglets showed no significant (p > 0.05) difference either. Conclusions: In conclusion, different feed processing (mash or crumble) did not make any significant difference on the performance of lactation sow or their piglets.
