  • In general, It is known that there are important concepts related with organization space of the elementary school in Japan. They are correspondence to various educational method, consideration of children's activity, consideration about use of the local residents, application of the concepts of house design, and introduction of the ecological concept and technology. But there is little report written concretely how to plan and design for above mentioned concepts and it is realty necessary to investigate about these for the future image of elementary school in Korea. For this purpose, we investigated by analyzing the plan, and the design explanation of the 84 excellent public elementary schools awarded by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology from 1988 to 2005 in Japan. As a result, we have found many examples about various spaces, methods and ideas to plan a school that is specialized and fit for a local peculiarity and user(children and local residents). The diversity of educational method and ecological concepts correspond to direction of future's society.

  • In primary and secondary schools, various information, such as grade results, observation and counseling materials, and psychological examination results which are generated in the course of educational activities, are accumulated and managed in various forms. Nevertheless, there is no educational information system that provides the analytical information for diagnosing and grasping students in a multidimensional manner. This is reminiscent of situations in which doctors rely solely on clinical experience to treat patients without using the results of various tests on patients. As pointed out by the Ministry of Education in 'Educational Big Data Utilization Measures' of the 5th Basic Plan of Educational Informatization(2014 ~ 2018), the reason why educational information systems do not exist is because there are no basic research as well as comprehensive and systemic research on this field. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a prototype for educational information system that enables customized student guidance by introducing the concept of analytical information systems that are used in various fields. We defined the core functions and contents of educational information system through job analysis and focus group interview, and implemented the prototype using Naver ProtoNow.

  • Currently, the Ministry of Employment and Labor is strengthening monitor programs in regards to occupational industrial safety and health act compliance in business operations. However, industrial accidents occur persistently. Therefore, the study strives to diagnose and understand the issues in its educational stature, targeting managing supervisors in large scale shipbuilding industry whose completed the regular safety and health act sessions. This research considered a total of 3,252 employees whose completed theory-based cluster sessions for three months since February, 2016. The group is divided into two categories; 551 participants whose completed 8 hours of training and 2,701 participants whose completed 4 hours of training. Technical statistics were used to measure the knowledge of safety and health, educational environment, curriculum and educational effects on managing supervisors. A t-test was used to analyze the difference between the training hours. The result indicated that the target participants' knowledge on safety and health before the session was 50.24 points average (100 point scale), showing low standards in general. In depth analysis indicated that both 8 hours and 4 hours groups scored lowest in educational methods and communications between the lecturer and participants factors within the educational curriculum category. Meanwhile, transition in knowledge acquirement, work attitude, and work behaviors scored the highest in the analysis, showing a high satisfaction factors in educational effects. Therefore, the improvement in educational time and period can increase the efficacy of the educational programs. Also, theory-based cluster programs based on lectures suggests positive influence in knowledge acquirement and behavioral transitions.

  • Today, the paradigm of education is changing from teacher-centered, facility-centered, supplier-centered to student-centered, people-centered, and user-centered. In 2019, the Ministry of Education promoted the school space innovation project to provide a school space as a balanced life space, such as learning, play, and rest, through educational activities led by students, who are the leaders of the future society. Based on this, Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education prepared a manual for practice while carrying out a project to build a future classroom. In those projects 'user participatory design' is applied as a new design approach and facilitators play an important role as experts in the process of user participatory design. However, it is different from the guidelines by the Ministry of Education in terms of facilitator role; facilitator in Incheon's future classroom projects can be in charge of designer part. This was possible because the design scope was limited to the classroom space and the construction permit work was not applied, and the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education seems to be able to successfully implement the plan derived through 'user participatory design' under the responsibility of the facilitator. However, this may be considered to be inconsistent with the basic purpose of the school space innovation project. In the case of the school unit project, it is considered that more systematic supplementation is necessary.

Materials and Methods: The study was a community-based intervention. Two medical officer of health areas in Gampaha district were selected using random sampling as intervention (IA) and control (CA). Public health midwives (PHMs) in the IA were exposed to the educational intervention first, conducted the same among the TGW through PHMs. KAP was assessed using an interviewer- administrated questionnaire among 260 TGW from each area selected using cluster sampling before and six months after the intervention. Results: The overall median scores for KAP among TGW in IG increased significantly from pre intervention level of 54% (IQR: 46-59%), 50% (IQR: 41-59%), and 0% (IQR: 0-20%) to post intervention level of 77% (IQR: 72-82%), 68% (IQR: 59- 76 %) and 40% (IQR: 20-60%) respectively. In CG, overall median scores for KAP remained almost the same at pre intervention 54% (IQR:44-59%), 50% (IQR:36-59%) and 0% (IQR: 0-20%) and post intervention 54% (IQR:46-59%), 50% (IQR:36-64%) and 0% (IQR: 0-20%) respectively. • In paper after the strong earthquake of recently the Korea neighborhood, the Korean government survey show that the 86% of school buildings in Korea are in potential damage risk and only 14% of them are designed as earthquake-resistance buildings. Reinforcing projects of school have been conducting by the ministry of education, however their reinforcing methods done by not proved a engineering by experiment which results in uneconomical and uneffective rehabilitation for the future earthquake. An experimental and analytical study have been conducted for the shear and flexural reinforcing method of RC beam using composite beam. Based on the previous research, in this study, performance evaluation for the column reinforcing of old school buildings using nonlinear analysis is going to be conducted and strengthening method is going to be on the market after their performance is proved by the test.

  • Purpose - In this paper, we categorize and segment the 28 national universities in South Korea and measure the degree of dissimilarity (or similarity) between pairs of ones by using dissimilarity distance matrix and cluster analysis, respectively, based on the seven quantitative evaluation of educational conditions (percentage of small-scale courses, percentage of lecture by the faculty, collection of books per student, material purchase per student, percentage of building capacity, percentage of real estate capacity and rate of accommodation) in 2015. In addition, multidimensional scaling (MDS) techniques can obtain visual representation for exploring patterns of proximities among 28 national universities based on seven attributes of educational conditions. Research design, data, and methodology - This work is carried out by the 2015 Announcement of University Information, which is provided by Ministry of Education in South Korea and utilized by multivariate analyses with CLUSTER, PROXIMITIES and ALSCAL modules in IBM SPSS 23.0. Results - We make certain that 28 national universities can be categorized into five clusters which have similar traits by applying two-stage cluster analysis. MDS is utilized to perform positioning of grouped places of cluster and 28 national universities joining every cluster. Conclusions - Both types and traits of each national university can be relatively assessed and practically utilized for each university competitiveness based on underlying results.
