Several studies have attempted to test students' misconceptions of physics and to provide teaching strategies in order to repair them. The results from these studies have revealed that the diagnosis of students' misconception is crucial, although they often failed to grasp the practice of its implementation. In terms of being a type of methodology for science education, the Internet allows large-scale surveys and investigations to be carried out in a relatively short period of time. This paper reports the results of the development, implementation, and evaluation of a WEb-based SYStem for TEsting students' Misconceptions in physics (WEBSYSTEM) aimed at three groups (science educational researchers who study students' physics conceptions using the system as a detector, school science teachers who practice it as an instructional material, and students who benefit from it for their self-directed learning). The web-based testing system is based on a review of the instructional development strategies of ADDIE (Gustafson, Branch, 2002; Rha, Chung, 2001). Results showed that WEBSYSTEM could work effectively as a multi-purposed tool for the three target groups with a further partial revision, providing educational researchers with resourceful data to study students' misconceptions in physics. Issues of administrative strategies, reexamination of questionnaires, and international collaboration via WEBSYSTEM are discussed.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the effects of a novel training program that integrates ultrasound technology to enhance the palpation skills of physical therapy students. The program was designed to support students in developing more precise palpation techniques by using ultrasound as a supplementary tool for anatomical identification. Design: A randomized controlled trial. Methods: A total of twenty students, all enrolled in the physical therapy department at S University, who met the specified selection criteria, were randomly assigned to one of two groups: the experimental group (EG, n=10) or the control group (CG, n=10). The experimental group participated in an ultrasound-assisted palpation training program, while the control group did not receive this intervention. Results:The experimental group demonstrated significant improvements in their ability to accurately palpate anatomical landmarks, specifically the long head of the biceps brachii (LHBT) and the lateral joint line of the knee (LJLK), as well as an increased level of confidence in their palpation skills (p<0.05). A comparative analysis of changes from pre- to post-training revealed statistically significant differences between the two groups (p<0.05). Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that the ultrasound-assisted training program can provide valuable educational benefits, offering foundational data to enhance the development of palpation skills in physical therapy students and making a meaningful contribution to educational research within the field.
One of the most important characteristics in the seventh educational course is an enforcement of differentiated level curriculum. Therefore, development of various different level educational subjects is needed. A new chromatographic experimental kit which is helpful for middle school students to understand chromatographic principles is needed to correct some mistakes of chromatographic part within the 6th educational course's middle school textbook. In this research, a new thin layer chromatography(TLC) experimental kit for middle school students are developed by using acid-base indicator as samples and ethyl alcohol, ethylacetate, hexane as eluents. The kit is applied to two kinds of middle school student groups(general group & genius group) and two kinds of teacher groups(science teacher & non-science teacher) and an efficacy of the new chromatographic kits are evaluated through making up some questions.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an rehabilitation educational program on anxiety, health compliance and quality of life of the patient with cardiac valve replacement. The 80 Subjects for the study were surveyed at the outpatient clinic in S medical center in Buchon City in Korea. Among them, 40 patients had been taught about the cardiac rehabilitation education program and 40 patients had not been taught while they were in the hospital. Those 2 groups of patients were surveyed with the instruments of Spilberger's anxiety scale, and the questionnaire of health compliance and quality of life. The data were analyzed by using $X^2$-test, t-test, Pearson's correlation. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Anxiety in educated group was significantly decreased (t=-2.60, p= .011) comparing to u n edu cat ed group. 2. The health compliance in educated group was significantly in creased (t=2.09, p= .040) comparing to uneducated group. 3. The quality of life of the two groups of pa tients was not different significantly (t=1.83, p= .072). 4. The correlation between anxiety and health compliance was significantly reversed (r=- .461, p= .000). The correlation between anxiety and quality of life was significantly reversed (r=- .654, p= .000). The relationship between health compliance and quality of life revealed significant (r=.438, p= .000). Considering above results, the cardiac rehabilitation educational program for the patients with the cardiac valve replacement was strongly recommended to be used.
This study aims to develop and apply Person-Centered Nursing educational program for clinical nurses. This study followed the ADDIE instructional design model to develop the Person-Centered Nursing educational program for clinical nurses. To investigate the effect of application, a non-equivalent control group posttest-pretest design was used to evaluate the clinical nurse's self-awareness, interpersonal relationship competency, self-esteem, co-worker support, and nursing job satisfaction. The results of the study showed that the self-awareness, interpersonal relationship competency, co-worker support and nursing job satisfaction scores of the control and experimental groups were significantly different between the groups based on time of measurement. Person-Centered Nursing competency was identified as a crucial element in addition to the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to a clinical nurses.

Robots evolve from tools to information media since they generates information by interacting with human. As studies on robot-aided education are still in a starting phase, attempts need to be made to use robots for educational purposes and to investigate the effects of the use. It was showed that robot-aided learning was friendlier than other media assisted learning, and especially effective for motivating children. We developed the prototype robot Jenny that can help teachers as a educational media in class(i.e. as a T.A. robot, it can present robot contents on its chest to screen and explain about it when teacher asks). is a schoolmate for 5th or 6th grade children or an elder schoolmate for the rest. We performed the field trial at an elementary school. We carried out 9 classes for three subjects(english, korean, music) with -students in $4th{\sim}5th$ grade. They thought Jenny who was 13 years old as an elder schoolmate in 6th grade. Also, a significant difference was found in the interest and concentration of experimental groups from controlled groups.
The purpose of this study was to find the effects of an educational program for primiparas on maternal confidence and continuity of breastfeeding. The subjects of this study were the healthy mothers, and the healthy infants whose weight was more than 2.500gm and gestational age was more than 37 weeks. The final targets were thirty seven mothers-19 of intervention group and 18 of control group. Data were collected from 15th of March to 3rd of September, 1999. To the intervention group, education on infant care and breast feeding were provided before discharge. And that, telephone advice was provided within one week after discharge, and at 2 months postpartum. And that, reeducation and counsel were provided at one month and three months postpartum by home-visiting care for the intervention group. For the control group. home visiting was also conducted only for data collection. Data were analyzed by chi-square test and t-test. The results were as follows: 1. The maternal confidence of the experimental group was higher than that of control group at one month postpartum. but the difference of confidence of these two groups were not significant at three months postpartum. 2. For both of experimental and control groups, maternal confidence significantly increased at three months postpartum than one month postpartum. 3. The rate of breastfeeding of the experimental group was higher than that of control group at one month and two months postpartum (p=.050, p=.049). But the difference was not significant at three months, although experimental group continued breastfeeding more(47.4%) than control group(27.8%). In conclusion, educational program for primiparas of this study was effective in the promotion of maternal confidence and breastfeeding.
Across sectional study was performed to evaluate the chronic effects on central nerve system(CNS) of cumulative exposure of complex organic solvents, using neurobehavioral test. Subjects were 66 (male) dock yard painters of some large ship industry which is located in Ulsan. The neurobehavioral test battery used in this study was NCTB (Neurabehavioral Core Test Battery recommended by WHO(World Health Organization), which consisted of 7 items-Profile of mood states (POMS), Simple reaction time, Santa Ana dexterity test. Digit span, Digit symbol, Benton visual retention test and Pursuit aiming. The subjects were classified by 3 groups according to duration of employment(group 1 ; less than 9 years, group 2 ; 10-14 years, group 3 ; more than 15 years). The results of performance were analyzed considering of work duration, age, educational level, alcohol drinking, smoking and testing time as confounding factors. Benton visual retention test, pursuit aiming correct dot and sum of dot showed significant differences among the groups, and decreased with increasing work duration. It indicated that the mean scores of performance ability were lowering according to work duration. Besides, the tests that didn't show statistical significances but showed linear trends were depression-dejection, vigor, fatigue of POMS, slowest time of simple reaction time and digit span forward. Most of the neurobehavioral test items were correlated with age and educational level. After controlling of confounding factors-age and educational level, the results followed ; digit span backward was different significantly. Tension-anxiety, depression-dejection, anger-hostility of POMS, SD and slowest time of simple reaction time, Santa Ana dexterity test non-preferred hand, digit span forward, Benton visual retention test and pursuit aiming correct dot decreased with increasing of work duration. The correlation analysis was done in order to find out the relationship between subjective symptom and the scores of neurobehavioral core test battery. According to the results of analysis there were no items that had statistical significant relationship(p<0.05).

The purpose of this study was to promote health for elementary school children. It was conducted with a 7 week program focused on the teaching of the food tower and evaluation of its educational effects. Subjects consisted of 75 boys and girls (control group : 37, treatment group : 38) in the 4th grade of elementary school. The results showed as follows. The proportion of boys was a little higher than that of girls. Of their mothers age, the thirties and forties were 66.7% and 33.3%, respectively. 61.3% of mothers had jobs and 86.7% of mothers prepared meals. The average of the anthropometric data of the 2 groups show were all in the normal range. The degree of nutritional knowledge in treatment group after education was significantly increased in all concepts, however, the degree of the control group appeared to show significant increase in only two concepts, such as "snack" and "one-sided diet". The diversity of dietary intake was investigated to evaluate the educational effect using food picture cards. The treatment group showed significant increase in all food groups except "cooked rice", "potatoes" and "fruits", but the control group showed no significant change. The level of nutrition knowledge has a significant correlation with the dversity of the food intake in the treatment group. The preferred lesson for children were "games", "doll playing" and "role playing". The impressive lesson contents were "diverse food intake without one-sided diet", "eating breakfast everyday", "choosing good snacks for health" and "eating less procesed food". These findings indicate that a well-designed program for nutrition education can help to change food habits, and that childrens education helps them to grow and to live as healthy adults. The performance of an educational program for preventive nutrition is more beneficial for children than for the adults based on the cost reduction and effect of this education. nutrition is more beneficial for children than for the adults based on the cost reduction and effect of this education.
