The goal of progressive educational methods with cutting edge technology is to elevate educational efficiency, and ultimately rear creative designers. To fulfill its objective, this paper presents a courseware program on fashion design education utilizing hyper media that include animation, photographs, pictures, sounds and characters. By the utilization of such comprehensive source of information media, a hypermedia courseware was developed for elementary education in fashion design with the following conclusions : 1. The program enables the students to customize their fashion design education. The students of fashion design education programs are able to choose and adjust their own programs to suit their requirements and intellectual level. 2. The program effectively motivates. Much like a constant sequence of various images on a screen that can provoke profound heart-felt emotions and inspire creativity, the program can stimulate and motivate the students. 3. The program provides a consistent education. To advance the overall quality of fashion design education, the problem of dissonance in educational content should be resolved and possible individual errors in delivery rectified. The present program will solve such problems, and establish coherent standards that will withstand the test of time regardless of time or place. 4. The program is cost effective. Since the present program frees the teacher from the time consuming drudgery of preparing various texts and lesson plans, have the materials delivered and handled, it reduces the time and cost previously required. 5. The program has the capability to be upgraded. The accumulated know-how of teachers and the total experience of the program can be linked with other programs for limitless expansion.

The author of the study has investigated and obtained the information through questionnaires to 32 professors who are in charge of CAD lectures and 301 students who are receiving CAD education. The result is as follows. 1. It showed that 62.5% of CAD educational systems have been practically introduced after 1995. Regarding the using system, YUKA occupies 46.9%, PAD 21.8%, and GERBER 18.8% and these three kinds of system have been chiefly supplied. 40.6% of them own only one system, 37.5% of them own 2~5 systems and 78% of them own less than 5 systems. 2. The most seriously pointed problems during the operation of CAD system were the lack of experimental materials and the frustration of manpower supply. Thus, the CAD education programs in schools and universities are practiced in inferior environments internally and externally. 3. Regarding the practical situation of CAD education, 28 among 32 schools and universities are performing CAD as one of the regular subjects for the curriculum. 4. Regarding satisfaction degree of the using system, professors showed higher satisfaction degree than students did. In conclusion, it showed that although the practical situations of CAD education in schools and universities have been changed and improved so much since 1995 owing to the increase of the positive recognition of the necessity of CAD, many students in the educational sites cannot study their favorite subjects related with CAD program with interest due to the lack of experimental facilities, the poor computer management systems, and the problems of manpower supply, etc.

  • The purpose of this research is to verify the influence of STEM integrate education using educational robots on improvement of the level of attitude towards Mathematics. The following hypothesis was formulated in order to achieve this purpose: There will be a meaningful difference in the level of attitude towards Mathematics between elementary school students educated by STEM integrated education with robots and by the traditional method of teaching Mathematics. To prove this hypothesis, 56 of first grade students were tested under the nonequivalent control group in the pretest-posttest designs. As a result of the study, it is showed that STEM integrated education has a positive effect on promoting the level of elementary school students' attitude towards Mathematics. Therefore, we need the instructional activities which can combine the knowledge gained from a variety of curriculum with activities by using educational robots.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of the sound environment among the various environmental factors that directly or indirectly affect the quality of education through the remodeling of the small hall of the College of Humanities at W University. Before remodeling into a lecture room, the small hall of the College of Humanities at W University, which is the subject of this study, was designed to create an indoor sound environment suitable for a lecture room by recognizing differences in acoustic performance between the performance halls that require adequate sound quality and the lecture rooms where the clarity of voice is important. Therefore, this study aimed to present examples of improved acoustic performance in lecture rooms by remodeling through the stages of measuring acoustic performance before remodeling, presentation of a change in finishing materials through sound simulation, and measurement of sound performance after remodeling. It is expected that this process can be used as an example of securing indoor acoustic performance suitable for educational space, such as lecture rooms, by changing the finishing materials.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop an educational program on nursing records especially focused on legal issues, and to test the effects of the educational program on nurses' knowledge, performance, and behavior. Methods: A textbook on legal issue-focused nursing records and an instrument with 36 items rated on a 5-point scale (1-5) for measuring the nurses' charting-related performance and behavior were developed from November 2007 through March 2008. A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was employed to test the effects of the education program. Knowledge was self-reported by the Nurse Charting Knowledge Scale, while performance and behavior were measured by their nurse managers. The pretest and posttest were conducted from March through May in 2008. A total of 226 Korean nurses participated in this study. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, Chi-square, paired t-test, Spearman's coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Nurses who received the intervention showed greater levels of knowledge (t=10.28, p<.001), performance (t=2.53, p=.013), and behavior scores (t=3.07, p=.002) than those of the control group. The factors influencing the improvement of knowledge were 'job attitude' (t=-3.32, p=.001) and 'career in present unit' (t=2.95, p=.004). The factor influencing the improvement of performance was 'career in present unit' (t=-3.39, p=.001). The factor influencing the improvement of behavior was 'job attitude' (t=-3.46, p=.001). Conclusion: The educational program on legal issue-focused nursing records was effective in improving nurse charting-related knowledge, performance, and behavior.
