Fostering students' positive affect related to mathematics such as attitudes toward mathematics and dispositions toward learning mathematical concepts is one of the major goals of school mathematics programs. In this study, we collected data from students at the 4-1 grade levels to develop an instrument that measures students' affect regarding mathematics learning. To develop the instrument, we first conducted focus group interviews, which we recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. We sorted the results according to seven components of the non-cognitive domain of mathematics learning, which drew from taxonomical constructs of previous research. We then conducted a pilot study in which we administered the instrument as a pretest and a posttest. We chose the final items based on confirmatory factor analysis and a reliability test of the pre and posttest scores. The final instrument contains 24 items, which are classified according to the seven components: interest, attitudes, value, external motivation, internal motivation, learning conation, and efficacy. We anticipate this instrument will be useful for studies that need to measure students' non-cognitive characteristics in relation to learning mathematics.

With the development of digital technology and the increasing demand for learning how to improve one's ability to solve problems through play and participation interactions, a variety of edutainment game contents are being developed. The edutainment game contents developed until recently have received a large number of contents for intelligence development and transfer of knowledge such as Korean and English mathematics for children and children. Recently, there have been various researches on the necessity and effect of STEAM education that foster convergent science and technology talents with comprehensive thinking ability and scientific inquiry spirit through the fusion education method among the subjects including science, technology, engineering, mathematics, And there is a growing need for the development of a parish suitable for STEAM education. However, there is a lack of STEAM educational content development that incorporates the technology of creative convergence talent training to develop talented people who can think and solve problems by crossing various academic boundaries. Therefore, this study develops game contents for early childhood education by combining STEAM education which foster convergent science and technology talents with comprehensive thinking ability and scientific inquiry spirit. And we designed and implemented STEAM game contents for infant learning education which can induce the interest of children and have fun by using gyroscope sensor of smartphone.
The decrease in the number of school-age population, the introduction of university evaluation and educational capacity enhancement projects have made the enrollment rate and employment rate important indicators. Accordingly, universities are making great efforts to improve the competitiveness of their universities by increasing students' major satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to find out whether art and music students major selection motivsion of affects major satisfaction for career preparation behavior. For this survey, students of arts and physical education at K University in Gyeonggi-do were surveyed and 197 questionnaires were used as analysis data. As a result of the study, it was found that major selection motivation had a significant static effect on career preparation behavior and major satisfaction, and major satisfaction was analyzed to have a complete mediating effect on the effect of major selection motivation on career preparation behavior. With on the results of this study, in the future, universities will need an efficient curriculum to enhance students' majors satisfaction. To that end, we should develop the theoretical and practical curriculum so that students can actively participate, operate programs such as operation of comparative subjects and on-demand education, and raise the level of education. To this end, the interest and active support of the industry-academia-research are required.

The role of the botanical garden in securing biodiversity, responding to climate change, and sustainable development in modern cities is becoming more important. Private botanical gardens that lead the domestic botanical culture are declining due to complex reasons such as an increase of tourist destinations, lack of policy support, lack of introduction of advanced management strategies, and similar leisure activities to national and public botanical gardens. The Private Botanical Garden not only has a large number of plant species with high conservation value, but also provides various public utilities as a cultural and educational space and government efforts are needed to activate the operation of this amenity. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of public functions provided by private botanical gardens using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). In this way, the government aims to provide a basis for policy and institutional support for private botanical gardens. The main results are as follows. First, public utility functions provided by private botanical gardens were recognized as 'preservation' (23.4%), 'recreation and tourism' (17.5%) and 'research' (16.6%) in order of analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Second, 'heritage value' (33.0%) and 'existence value' (32.5%) were recognized as significant among the values provided by private botanical gardens. Third, the willingness to pay (WTP) to preserve the public functions of the private botanical garden was 12,234 won. Based on this, the economic value of all private botanical gardens in the whole country was estimated, resulting in about 233.8 billion won. There is a need to revise laws and regulations related to financial support for the revitalization and quality improvement of private botanical gardens. It is also necessary to establish a cooperative operating system between national, public and private botanical gardens.
Currently, breast cancer ranks third among women' s cancers, and as its incidence is increasing, the incidence age is also becoming lower. Therefore it is necessary to address breast cancer for women in their twenties. As there is no way presently to prevent breast cancer, it is imperative that women take available interventions against predisposing factors. It is thus advisable that women acquire the necessary skills to recognize their own health status. The purposes of this study were to identify the effects of education on breast self-examination (BSE) through supportive education among college women during the period from August 2000 to February 2001, and to attempt to design an effective BSE educational program. The first class was implemented through lectures, pamphlets, videotapes, breast palpation on cloths, demonstration and practice for identification of breast masses through palpation using breast model. Supportive education was implemented bimonthly to the experimental group, and effects of the education between experimental and control groups were compared 6 months later. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. The effects on supportive education of college women in BSE 1) The mean score of retained knowledge about breast cancer and BSE was 30.88 in the experimental group, and 29.66 in the control group and significantly greater in the experimental group than in the control group (t= -2.062, p= 0.041). 2) Frequency of BSE practice was significantly greater in the experimental group than in the control group($\chi^2=0.045$, p=0,012). 3) The mean accuracy score in BSE practice was 19.10 in the experimental group, and 18.29 in the control group; accuracy was higher in the experimental group than in the control(t= -2.035, p= 0.444). 4) The mean score of self-efficacy was 35.05 in the experimental group, and 31.22 in the control group. The experimental group mean score was higher(t=-3.016, p=0.003). 2. There was a statistically significant correlation between self-efficacy and accuracy of BSE(r=0.447, p=0.000), knowledge of breast cancer and BSE(r= 0.306, p=0.000) and frequency of BSE(r=0,259, p=0,002) but no significant correlation between knowledge of breast cancer and BSE and frequency of BSE (r=0.071, p=0.403). On the basis of this study, periodic supportive education can increase knowledge of breast cancer and BSE, frequency of BSE, accuracy of BSE and self-efficacy. Suggestions: 1. There is a need to compare the effects of individual programs to acquire BSE behaviors in the young. 2. Further research is needed to test the continuity of the effects of BSE education.

This study aims to find an effective way to present essential science concepts in national science curriculum through international comparisons. Next Generation Science Standard (US), Ontario Science Curriculum (Canada), Australia Science Curriculum, and British/English Science Curriculum were selected for comparison. In science curriculum documents, these countries used terms such as 'Key ideas,' 'Big ideas,' 'Key concepts,' 'Disciplinary core ideas.' and 'Fundamental concepts' to present essential concepts of science. This study reviewed the characteristics of the meaning, the status, and the role of essential concepts country by country. The result shows essential concepts have been used with different meanings and statutes in each case. Furthermore, various roles were performed through essential concepts in order to organize their science curriculum. From these foreign nation's cases, this study proposes several ways to present essential science concepts based on results. First, interdisciplinary integrated concepts were needed to organize an integrated science curriculum. In science curriculum documents of the United States, Canada, Australia and England, two types of terms were used in order to structuralize an integrated science curriculum. Second, essential concepts should include concepts related with function and value as well as scientific knowledge. Third, essential concepts need to be presented in such a way as to show specific contexts. Therefore, selecting appropriate contents and structure are needed to be able to improve the way to present essential concepts in Korea's educational environment.
Background: Early detection remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control in terms of outcome and survival. Thus far the only breast cancer screening method proven effective is mammography. The awareness of female health care workers (HCW) about breast cancer prevention is of vital importance, as their beliefs and behavior may have a major impact on other women. This study was designed to assess mammography screening uptake among female healthcare workers at primary healthcare centers, and to identify the primary motivators and barriers that affect uptake results. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional study design was used to assess mammography screening by 299 female healthcare workers who completed a self-administered questionnaire that assessed demographics, screening uptake, motivators and barriers. Results: The mean age was 46 years (within age of risk). The majority (95.1%) demonstrated adequate knowledge about breast cancer and mammography screening and 50% of the participants reported having at least one mammogram; however only 21% of them had regularly scheduled mammograms. The most frequent reported motivator was the perceived benefit that early detection of breast cancer is important for its management (89.6%), followed by the belief that mammography can detect breast cancer before its symptoms appear (84.4%). On the other hand, the most frequent barrier reported was being busy (46.7%), followed by the lack of perceived susceptibility (41.5%). Conclusions: Mammography screening was found to be sub-optimal in a population of HCW's with 50 % stating that they received a mammogram at least once, and a minority reported regular screening. There is a pressing need for educational programs aimed at removing the barriers that limit compliance with recommendations for mammography screening, and to emphasize the importance of early detection in breast cancer treatment. Ensuring the availability and accessibility of screening services, particularly for healthcare workers within their work settings are other important factors that would improve the acceptance and compliance for mammography screening programs.
There are 82 dental hygiene departments and clinical training institutes across the country with a very wide range of clinical practice content and evaluation methods, making standardization difficult. Therefore, there is a need to establish a standard protocol outlining clinical practice content and evaluation methods for systematic and efficient operation of clinical practice. Thus, this study attempted to propose such a protocol for standardization of dental hygiene clinical practice in dental clinics and hospitals to examine the contents of clinical practice by reviewing relevant literature, and relating it to professional practice within the dental hygienic curriculum to facilitate enhancement of expertise. Clinical practice content was extracted from 74 cases, and was consisted of classifying mandatory and optional clinical practice, training time, and activity methods for each component. To standardize effective clinical practice, it is necessary to organize the components acquired in the course of clinical dentistry training in line with their arrangement on each university's curriculum, in order to learn all components step by step. To do this, it is necessary to present a standardized clinical practice protocol and a organic cooperation between educational institutions and clinical training institutions.

The desire of consumers to new innovative products appears to be a constant thing companies are constantly trying to respond to these changes, there may not be a problem for the convergence of sustainability management company in the end. In this study, based on the convergence of corporate management need to be a fusion component of corporate management to examine whether any impact on the quality of innovation. Results showed that the fusion management components that affect both internal factors and external factors, core factors quality improvement. Internal factors detailed in the convergence management leadership, risk management factors showed a positive external factors affecting appeared to affect positively the knowledge-sharing factors, infrastructure factors. Finally, core factor is technology factors, educational learning factors showed a positive impact. This results suggest that be a big impact factors of competitiveness of enterprises through convergence management in the future and will serve as the strategic basis for the convergence of future corporate management.

The purpose of this study was to understand death perception, spiritual well-being, and terminal care stress in geriatric hospital nurses and analyze related factors affecting terminal care stress. The participants were 181 nurses working in six geriatric hospitals located in Seoul and Gyonggi Province, Korea. Data were gathered from July 16 to August 1, 2015. The data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-test, Duncan test, and logistic regression. Death perception of geriatric hospital nurses had an average score of 4.30, spiritual well-being 3.40, and terminal care stress 3.84. Terminal care stress in relation to general characteristics showed a meaningful difference in religion and total clinical career. The terminal care stress level was divided into two groups using average score as a standard, and the results revealed that spiritual well-being had a significant impact on terminal care stress of geriatric hospital nurses. These factors need to be considered when developing an educational program to reduce terminal care stress of nurses working in a geriatric hospital.
