Environment education, which is a principal solution to environmental problems in the world, is being practiced in Korea through the national curricula for primary and secondary schools. However, it hasn't been effective so far to practice environment education within those schools where a variety of subjects are taught. The purpose of this study is to look for the possibility of practicing environment education and thereby to make some suggestions for effective environment education in the field of English education, which doesn't seem to have a close relationship with environment education. This study first specified prospective contents of environment education by analyzing the Seventh National English Curriculum. Then, on the basis of them, the study explored how to practice environment education in the field of English education. Finally, for effective environment education, it made some suggestions and emphasized the importance of consistent efforts.

This attempts to find out training system of environment education teacher in Korea. The results are summarized as follows. The primary and secondary school have focused on environment education and the environment course was designated as a subject, but only 12% of the 2741 middle school chose the environment subject in 1998. The environment education course is not popular among students. The environment education is an interdisciplinary subject, which is composed of natural science, social studies, earth science, and medical science, that is why the subject is so unsystematic and complicated that appropriate teaching methods and contents for school classes are not able to be developed. Moreover, material and manuals in environment education for students and teachers are limited. While the contents of environment education is composed of field experience learning and experiment learning, but lecture-centered instruction is emphasized in school because of materials, time and experts. Over 300 environmental education teachers are annually produced, but the ratio of employment low. is, Therefore, a retraining program for environment education teacher needs to be developed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of environmental education program through educational theatre on student's environmental literacy of 5th graders in an elementary school in Seoul. The students were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Then, the experimental group had the emotion-centered environmental education program using educational theatre, and the control group had the regular education process, which is a general lecture about the environment. The SPSS 12.0 program was used to analyze the results. The major result of the study was as follows. First, the researcher was able to develop and apply professor-learning model for the environment education using the educational theatre by abstracting and recreating environment-related contents from the 5th grade curriculum. Second, the study has showed that applying the emotion-centered program using the education theatre for the environment education certainly contributes to the improvement of the environment knowledge of the elementary students. Third, the emotion-centered environment education program has influenced evenly on the elements of the environment knowledge divided by the four goal levels of the environment education. Finally, the higher the student's emotional quotient is, the more improvement of the environment knowledge the student gets when using the emotion-centered environment education program using the education theatre. In conclusion, the emotion-centered environment education program using the education theatre is a usable method to the elementary schools, and has a positive effect on increasing the environment knowledge of 5th grade students. In the time of requiring the diverse environment education methods, this program is worth to try as a new education method. Therefore, it is necessary to research more on the professor-learning activities related to this study.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of environment aesthetics for environment education. This study analyzes in accordance with theory of the environment aesthetics of Berleant, A. The results of this study are as follows. The result of analysis the contents of Berleant's environment aesthetics, in his philosophy of environment aesthetics the environment is defined to be inclusive of all and the unity of human and environment is stressed on more than in the current prevailing philosophy of environment education. And environment aesthetics propose the most part of theory and methodology suited for environment education, but, do not mention about a definite theory of 'Skill'.

The purpose of this research is to find out teachers' understanding and recognition about the water and the water environment education and to suggest the strategies of water education at school based on survey results. Results of the study are as follows: First, teachers had high level of water related knowledge and awareness about importance of the water environment education. However, they showed low level of environment educational efforts and environment protection behaviour in daily life. Second, they had a little chance to have the educational training for the water environment education. Third, the water environment education at schools has been made in very restricted areas such as water related scientific knowledge and water pollution. Fourth, teachers pointed out the biggest obstacle for the water environment education would be the lack of teaching materials and the second biggest one was the lack of educational facilities at schools. Based on the survey results, it was found out that in order to improve the water environment education at schools, substantial research by the teachers shall be implemented for all teachers of every subject to build up their capacity in adapting the water education to their subjects.

Recently, the interest in artificial environment made by mankind as well as natural environment has been increased. This interest in the environment began to be reflected in the physical education, which environmental problems affect modern people's living quality as a crucial factor affecting directly or indirectly our life. Furthermore, since we entered the era of mass sports the physical education subject has dealt with destruction of natural environment by constructing golf courses, ski slopes, etc., destruction of ecosystem by water sports, mountaineering sports, aero sports, etc., and noise pollution near the sport facilities. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the means to reinforce environmental education in many ways in the physical education concerning environmental problems. For this purpose this paper analyzed the contents of the 7th curriculum for physical education which can be thought to be teaching materials for environmental education, and described the contents in detail. Also, this paper established the orientation and goals of environmental education in the physical education subject and examined some important teaching and learning methods. In addition, this paper suggested some considerations concerning environmental education and a textbook model for the development of physical education textbooks connecting with the 7th curriculum for physical education, which is to suggest a means to connect physical education with environmental education smoothly. The physical education has an attribute that its activities like swimming, climbing mountains, and camping are performed outdoor. The physical activities in the physical education are, of course, performed in the environment, so we had better implement the environmental education including such physical activities at the same time with physical education. Also, there should be efforts so that the education through environment, the education about environment, and the education in the environment can be implemented along with the physical education.

This study, through the survey of citizens of Daegu in regard to the environment education experience and citizens perception, seeks to identify the order of importance and perception on the severity of environment. The survey has found that 36.4% citizens of Daegu have environment education experience. Those who have experience have high standard of living, live in high population density area and where pollutant generating plants are prevalent. In addition they are likely to live in apartment, are younger, and the higher the education level, more opportunities they have in getting environment education. The study has found that the environment education experience gives noticeable influence on environment perception, environment attitude, and environment activities. Also, those who have the environment education are likely to be interested in environment, know green growth policies, and are positive about local environment activities. Thus, they are willing to participate in activities to improve local environment and have emphasized the need for more environment education. As for what environment elements are most severe, they pointed to the "global warming and climate change" and "everyday garbage" and as for what are important, they chose "drinking water quality" and "global warming and climate change." Based on the study, we came to the conclusion that more environment education should be provided to elevate the interest in environment and subsequently, foster the sense of responsibility and civic mind toward the preservation of environment. In light of above, local governments must expand their supports and fully utilize the Local Agenda 21 to promote the education and increase the perception of citizens on the environment.

Purposes: The aim of this study was to examine the awareness of health education environment, teacher efficacy, and job satisfaction and to identify their relationship. Methods: A total of 193 school nurses from elementary/middle/high schools in Korea were enrolled in this descriptive study. The awareness of health education environment, teacher efficacy, and job satisfaction were measured using structured questionnaires. Results: The awareness on health education environment was $3.10{\pm}.56$ on average. School nurses with positive awareness on the environment showed significantly greater efficacy and job satisfaction than those with negative awareness, and school nurses at elementary schools had positive awareness on the environment compared with those in middle/high schools. Those with work experience of 11 years or more had a positive awareness on the environment. However, heavy workload, lots of work irrelevant to school nursing and few training opportunities on health education were recognized negative items. The awareness on the health education environment was positively correlated with teacher efficacy and job satisfaction, respectively. In particular, the awareness on health education environment influenced teacher efficacy and job satisfaction. Conclusion: Teacher efficacy and job satisfaction should be enhanced through continued improvement of the health education environment to promote the effect of health education.

The ultimate goal of environment education plays an important role in forming knowledge, skill, attitude and a point of value along with sustainable development in the regions. Recently, however, environment education is comparatively despised due to college-entrance-exam-focused education policy. Ironically, environment education is more actively implemented at informal institutes rather than formal ones. Environment education at schools is based on the school curriculum, but at informal educational institutes enjoy much more freedom in choosing learners, places and programs. Among them, the place is one of the most important factors of environment education. Therefore, in order to maximize the goal of environment education in this study, a specified program was developed and applied to a certain place to investigate its features and effects. Also the program was checked if it reflexes the environment education goal by using environment education program analysis frame. The results are as follows; according to the analysis of the program, the program was most effective for the two goals of offering hands-on experience and presenting motivations. The second most effective result of the program lied in the goal of knowledge, functions, value and attitude. And the teachers who used this program concluded that, when the program was applied to unmanned islands, offered stronger motivation due to their natural surroundings. Furthermore, direct experience is recommended because it can give us better conditions to collect data and to enhance interpretation ability.

The aim of this research is clarify the relationship between concept understanding degree about the environment and environmental sensitivity and heighten understanding of environmental education target to pre-service elementary teacher. The subjects of this study are science education intensive course 65 students of B educational university. Concept understanding degree about the environment was separately investigated by 'the definition of environmental education', 'Write The positive concept of the natural environment education and briefly describe.''The negative concept of the natural environment education and briefly describe'. Next clarify the relationship between concept understanding degree about the environment and environmental sensitivity target to pre-service elementary teacher. Based on these results, propose an alternative to cultivate pre-service elementary teacher's knowledge about environmental education. Degree of understanding of the concept environmental education research results are as follows. First, Cognition degree about definition of environmental education of pre-service elementary teacher is correctly recognized generally. Second, They do not think deeply about natural environment when it comes to the positive concept of the natural environment of pre-service elementary teacher. Third, They have only a little interest in natural environment when it comes to the negative concept of the natural environment of pre-service elementary teacher. Correlation research results of degree of understanding of the concept of environmental and environmental sensitivity are as follows. High understanding degree of environmental education is high environmental sensitivity. Heighten environmental sensitivity of pre-service elementary teacher will be sustainable environmental education so education is necessary for environmental Sensitivity training.
