Edge Compensation Algorithm by Extracting the Skeletons from the Uplifted Image (융기된 영상의 골격선 추출에 의한 에지 보정 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, we propose the edge compensation algorithm which connects the adjacent edges without losing the information of the skeletons on the edge image. The proposed edge compensation algorithm is composed of succeeding two steps. In the first step, the uplifted image is obtained by applying the uplifting process to the edge image. The next step is to extract the edge image from the uplifted image using the skeleton extraction algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed method connects the adjacent edges without the distortion of the original edge information compared to the traditional method

  • Error diffusion is a procedure for generating high quality bilevel images from continuous-tone images but blurs the edge information. To solve this problem, we propose the improved method appling edge enhanced weights based on local characteristic of the original images. We consider edge information as local characteristic. First, we produce edges by appling 3$\times$3 sobel operator to the original image. The edge is normalized from 0 to 1. Edge information weights are computed by using sinusoidal function and the normalized edge information. The edge enhanced weights are computed by using edge information weights multiplied input pixels. The proposed method is compared with conventional methods by measuring the edge correlation and quality of the recovered images from the halftoned images. The proposed method provides better quality than the conventional method due to the enhanced edge and represents efficiently the detail edge. Also, the proposed method is improved in edge representation than the conventional method.

  • In this paper, we design edge class that can processed digital image effectively, edge is a important information including the point of shape information for a object detection or recognition in the digital image. Therefore, it is of very importance, which managed effectively the edge and can use a variety availability in digital image Processing, after edge detection. The environment using the existing digital image processing system has limits of use and speed. In this paper, we design edge class that can managed detected edges and it analyzes existing methods by edge detection algorithm.

Triqubit-State Measurement-Based Image Edge Detection Algorithm

  • Aiming at the problem that the gradient-based edge detection operators are sensitive to the noise, causing the pseudo edges, a triqubit-state measurement-based edge detection algorithm is presented in this paper. Combing the image local and global structure information, the triqubit superposition states are used to represent the pixel features, so as to locate the image edge. Our algorithm consists of three steps. Firstly, the improved partial differential method is used to smooth the defect image. Secondly, the triqubit-state is characterized by three elements of the pixel saliency, edge statistical characteristics and gray scale contrast to achieve the defect image from the gray space to the quantum space mapping. Thirdly, the edge image is outputted according to the quantum measurement, local gradient maximization and neighborhood chain code searching. Compared with other methods, the simulation experiments indicate that our algorithm has less pseudo edges and higher edge detection accuracy.

  • This paper presents the moving object detection and tracking algorithm using edge information base on human perceptual system The human visual system recognizes shapes and objects easily and rapidly. It's believed that perceptual organization plays on important role in human perception. It presents edge model(GCS) base on extracted feature by perceptual organization principal and extract edge information by definition of the edge model. Through such human perception system I have introduced the technique in which the computers would recognize the moving object from the edge information just like humans would recognize the moving object precisely.

  • 오늘날 하드웨어의 발전으로 인해 영상 해상도는 FHD를 넘어 4K UHD 이상의 영상 해상도가 사용화되고 있다. 하지만 Edge Map을 만들기 위해 일반적으로 사용하는 함수들은 Convolution 함수 일종으로서 영상의 해상도가 높을수록 더 많은 Complexity를 요구한다. 또한 현재 주요 영상 압축 기술인 JPEG, H.264/AVC High efficiency video coding(HEVC)같은 기법들은 자연 영상을 중점으로 개발되어 있어 Edge map 압축에 있어 자연 영상만큼의 효율을 보여주지 못하고 있다. 본 논문은 원 영상을 Down Scaling한 뒤 이미지를 다시 원래 사이즈로 Up Scaling하여 두 영상의 차를 이용한 Edge Map을 생성하는 새로운 방법을 소개한다. 생성된 Edge Map의 특성인 Histogram 값의 분포가 0을 중심으로 Gaussian 분포를 가지는 것을 이용한 Zero Based 코덱을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘을 이용하여 고 해상도 영상에서도 빠르게 Edge Map을 생성하고 제안한 코덱을 통해 해당 Edge map을 압축한 결과 다른 압축 기술보다 더 뛰어난 성능을 보여주었다.

  • 장면 변환 검출(Scene Change Detection)수행 방법으로 객체 인식에 의한 검출이 아닌 전체영상의 형태 흐름을 기반으로한 검출시스템을 제안한다. 형태흐름의 변화는 영상내에 존재하는 에지(edge), 에지의 중심(Center of edge), 분산(Varience of edge) 및 표준 편차(Standard deviation of edge)의 분포 변화에서 추출할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 정보의 추출을 위해서 보다 정확한 에지의 정보 추출이 중요하다. 영상의 히스토그램을 8단계로 분류한 후, 각 단계에 맞는 임계치를 에지검출 수행에 사용하였으며, 효율적인 에지검출을 위하여 개량형 라플라시안 필터를 제안한다. 일반적으로 이용되는 필터를 이용하였을 때 획득할 수 있는 에지 정보보다 우수한 정보를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Edge detection includes information such as the shape, position, size, and material of an object with respect to an image, and is a very important factor in analyzing the characteristics of the image. Existing edge detection methods include Sobel edge detection filter, Roberts edge detection filter, Prewitt edge detection filter, and LoG (Lapacian of Gaussian) using secondary differentials. However, these methods have a disadvantage in that the edge detection results are somewhat insufficient because a fixed weight mask is applied to the entire image area. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an edge detection algorithm that increases edge detection characteristics by considering the center pixel in the mask. In addition, in order to confirm the proposed edge detection performance, it was compared through simulation result images.

  • Among digital halftoning methods, error diffusion is a procedure for generating high quality bilevel images from continuous-tone images but blurs the edge information in the bilevel images. To solve the problem, we propose the edge enhanced error diffusion using the edge information of the original images. The edge enchanted weights is computed by adding local characteristic weights and input pixels multiplied a constant. Also, we combined the edge enhanced method with the adaptive error diffusion using human spatial and frequency perception characteristic. The performance of the proposed method is compared with conventional method by measuring the edge correlation. The halftoned images applied the proposed method get more fine quality due to the enchanced edge and better quality in halftoned image. And the detailed edge is preserved in the halftoned images by the proposed method.

  • Traditional cloud computing faces some challenges such as huge energy consumption, network delay and single point of failure. Edge computing is a typical distributed processing platform which includes multiple edge servers closer to the users, thus is more robust and can provide real-time computing services. Although outsourcing data to edge servers can bring great convenience, it also brings serious security threats. In order to provide image retrieval while ensuring users' data privacy, a privacy preserving image retrieval scheme in edge environment is proposed. Considering the distributed characteristics of edge computing environment and the requirement for lightweight computing, we present a privacy-preserving image retrieval scheme in edge computing environment, which two or more "honest but curious" servers retrieve the image quickly and accurately without divulging the image content. Compared with other traditional schemes, the scheme consumes less computing resources and has higher computing efficiency, which is more suitable for resource-constrained edge computing environment. Experimental results show the algorithm has high security, retrieval accuracy and efficiency.
