This study presents improvement measures at the local government level by analyzing the step-by-step projects of Suwon City's Suwon Village Development Project, which is being carried out with public development assistance in the Kingdom of Cambodia. For this study, realistic research was conducted by visiting the site and interviewing the person in charge. The following conclusions are drawn. First, public development assistance projects for local governments in Korea should be carried out, with detailed programs to implement them under the central government's ODA policy. Second, provided a project is competitively carried out, and is not simply pork barreling or enhancing the external image of local governments, the project should be continued, and supplementary measures taken based on an evaluation system and the results of the project's performance. Third, ODAs in the economic and social development sectors-not sporadic aid among central government ministries and local governments-should be centered on the central government and KOICA while local governments are small. If development cooperation is achieved by focusing on the software sector, criticism that it wastes taxpayers' money is likely to decrease. This study suggests that local governments need to establish ODA plans and cooperate with the central government.
Purpose - The convenience store business sector in South Korea has contributed to economic growth and job creation, and the growth potential of this market segment remains very high. In addition, service value is a more important factor than price in determining purchase intention. Research in the convenience store market is relatively very low compared to other retail sectors. In particular, research on service quality for the convenience of retailers who examine and analyze customer behavior and service quality factors used in the convenience store side of the situation is very inadequate. We have investigated the relationship of store service quality, service satisfaction, and store loyalty. In addition, we have examined the way service value moderates the relationship among these variables. Research design, data, and methodology - The questionnaire was developed using modified and supplementary questions based on the KD-SQS and RSQS models. The study suggested a theoretical model composed of 15 hypotheses on the relations between theoretic variables, and surveys conducted with consumers in discount stores in the Seoul and Gyunggi Metropolitan area in order to verify the hypotheses. We used the SPSS/PC statistical packages to analyze the results. The number of surveys used was 227. Moreover, a structural equating model was also used to analyze the reliability and validity of the composing elements and to verify the suggested hypotheses. Results - The overall results of this study are as follows. First, all service quality elements have a significant effect on service satisfaction. Second, all service quality elements have a significant effect on store loyalty. Third, service satisfaction has a significant effect on store loyalty. Finally, when the participants were divided into high and low service value the results of the multiple regression analyses showed that only the relationship between policy of service quality and satisfaction, and human interaction and policy of service quality and loyalty were significant. The implications are discussed based on the findings of the study. Conclusions - First, through direct hypotheses testing, we confirmed that the convenience service quality positively impacts the service satisfaction and loyalty of buyers. In particular, the reliability, origin benefit, and promotion were found to have more influence on satisfaction and loyalty of consumers of a convenience store. Further, for the service quality of the convenience for the consumer loyalty, greater human interaction was a high-value and statistically significantly higher than the degree of improvement in consumer loyalty. This underscores the importance of education and human services management of employees working in a convenience store. In particular, frequent changes in personnel generate results that negatively impact loyalty with customers. These results may lead to a serious problem in the economics of the store. Therefore, it should enhance the value of services through the establishment of training and compensation for employees. In addition, a certain educational level is required as well as a basis for compensation and retention.
According as the quality of life is improved along with economic growth, in the road plan and design sector also, it is now progressed that function oriented design is changed into the landscape oriented design that considers eyesight and emotion, which are psychological properties of users. Accordingly this study tries to come up with reasonable and objective methods to extract various emotional adjectives, which were found by the survey, while minimizing difference among characteristics of emotion and cognition of individuals. First, given semantic differential, based on various emotional adjectives that were found through the survey with the scale up to five points, the author extracted representative emotional adjectives through an element analysis, which is a conventional method of the previous research, and through an identification analysis which is suggested by this study, and then established model I of Quantification. And by using the established quantification model, the author presumed satisfaction degree, and through verifying pair wise comparison with actual satisfaction degree, the author found the results from identification and correlation analysis methods are most similar to actual satisfaction degree. As a result, the author could check the above emotional and correlation analyses were appropriate methods for comprehending which emotional elements are applicable when a continuous road landscape is designed by identification and correlation analyses.

This paper analyzes the asymmetric pass-through effects of crude oil price changes on export prices in Korea's manufacturing sector using a nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model. These pass-through effects are important for Korean companies that are highly dependent on exports. Because the effects differ by industry, eight sectors of the manufacturing industry were examined. The model is effective for separately testing the long-term and short-term differences between the export-price pass-through effects when crude oil prices increase and decrease. The estimation results show that there is positive pass-through to export prices as crude oil prices change, and there are asymmetric effects in some manufacturing sectors. Short-term asymmetries were detected in the export prices of five sectors that include general machinery and transport equipment, and significant long-term asymmetries were found for petroleum and coal products and for textile and leather products. The long-term export price of oil and coal products rose by 0.992% with a 1% increase in the oil price and fell by 0.977% with 1% decrease. Therefore, corporate strategies and government export policies should be established in accordance with these asymmetric pass-through effects.

As with fast growing globalization, Korean firms have increased their offshoring activities and more empirical research are needed to analyze the effect of offshoring on Korean firms' productivity. This study used "Survey of Business Activities", a firm-level panel data set surveyed by the Statistics Korea between 2006 and 2008, and estimated pooled OLS and Panel fixed effect model to examine the impact of offshoring on a firm's labor productivity. Unlike the previous studies on offshoring, we included in the analyses the firms in the service industry in addition to those in the manufacturing industry, and presented the comparative results. The results from pooled OLS model show that 1% increase in the share of offshoring output will lead to 0.03% increase in labor productivity. However, the results from Panel model show that the effects of offshoring on productivity is positive but statistically insignificant. Analyzing the manufacturing and the service sector separately, the main results based on Panel model can be summarized as follows: Offshoring has significant positive effects on firms' productivity in the manufacturing industry. Contrastingly, the impact of offshoring on firms' productivity in the service industry is estimated to be negative but statistically insignificant. Other than the share of offshoring output, most factors except headquarter location have positive effects on firms' productivity in both manufacturing and service industry.
We study about small gas engine and fuel cell CHP (Combined Heat and Power) as the technologies for energy conservation and $CO_2$ emissions reduction. Korea government plans to use them in near future. This study quantitatively analyzed energy consumption and $CO_2$ emissions reduction potential of small CHP instead of existing electric power plant (coal steam, combined cycle and oil steam) using LEAP (Long-range Energy Alternative Planning system) as energy-economic model. Three future scenarios are discussed. In every scenario similar condition for each CHP is used. Alternative scenario I: about 6.34% reduction in $CO_2$ emissions is observed in 2019 due to increase in amount of gas engine CHP and fuel cell CHP while coal use in thermoelectric power plant is almost stagnant. In alternative scenario II: a small 0.8% increase in $CO_2$ emission is observed in 2019 keeping conditions similar to alternative scenario I but using natural gas in combined cycle power plant instead of coal. During alternative scenario II overall $CO_2$ emission reduction is observed in 2019 due to added heat production from CHP. Alternative scenario III: about 0.8% reduction in $CO_2$ emissions is observed in 2019 using similar CHP as AS I and AS II. Here coal and oil are used in thermoelectric power plant but the quantity of oil and coal is almost constant for next decade.

To propose basic information for natural resource management and conservation strategy of Schisan-dra nigra Maxim., its habitat environment and vegetation structure of forest communities growing the species was investigated. Fourteen plots (each plot size 400 $m^2$) were set up at the distributed area of Cheju island, southern part of Korea. S. nigra is the economic useful species that scatteringly grows at 850~920 m in the western part, at 660~710 m in the northern part and at 750~1,250 m in the southern part of Mt. Halla. The community of S. nigra in Mt. Halla is the mixed secondary forest of pine and broad leaved trees that are mainly composed of Pinus densif1ora, Quercus serrata, Styrax japonica, Lin-dera erythrocarpa and Carpinus laxiflora. The density in a main distribution sector of S. nigra appears in the range of 3~39 individuals per each 20$\times$20 m plot. The distribution patterns by Morisita's Index showed that S. nigra was distributed randomly in all of the stands. The association analysis showed that the following tree species were positively associated with S. nigra. In other words, the following trees were appeared to require the same ecological niche together with S. nigra: Lindera erythrocarpa, Cornus waltri, Acer mono, and Styrax japonica.
The film industry is a high value-added industry, boosts the self-esteem of the people as a measure of a country's culture industry, and is one of the strategic industries to be fostered. However, the film industry is struggling due to the lack of national consensus on the importance and value of the film industry. Therefore, in order to resolve this issue, the study used the film Input-Output Table of year 2009 of korea to analyze how much the film industry contributes to the national economy. The results shows that film industry induce 82,838.7 billion won of national production, especially the film industry(the sector of film product & distribution and film screenings) shows that production inducement coefficient is 2.324(2.240, 2.478), Index of the power of dispersion is 1.163(1.121, 1.240), index of the sensitivity of dispersion is 0.825(0.825, 0.501), value-added coefficient is 0.884(0.479, 0.547), income inducement coefficient is 0.454(0.211, 0.236), tax inducement coefficient is 0.110(0.090, 0.146) and employment inducement coefficient is 0.017(0.014, 0.022).
This research aims to predict and analyze green building certification market of Korean Peninsula after unification. First, it analyzes prospected unification time period, then it forecasts number of new residential and non-residential buildings to be constructed based on estimated number of residences in short at the time in North Korea. There exists a good chance that North Korea's new building market forms similar to that of South Korea, as unification would thoroughly proceed which would result levels of economic culture social politics in quasi-equal state. Thus, assuming the ratio of residential and non-residential building against population is similar in both Korea's, the number against North Korea's house supplied population can be estimated. Based on the expected numbers in North Korea, number of proceeded Building Energy Conservation Plan, Building Energy Rating Certification, and Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design (G-SEED) are predicted. The research shows certification market related to green building in united Korean Peninsula to be \660 billion over 10 years. Not only certifications to newly built buildings but also including existing buildings, this market is to grow to a considerable extent. As this would largely influence eco-constructive materials, energy plant/equipment, and other relevant markets as well, it would require to make thorough preparations. In sum, to stabilize green building market even before the unification, the research proposes the necessities of appropriate systems in consideration of North Korea, through in-depth discussions and establishment of technology and policy directions in green building sector, such as building energy management and emission reduction technology.
In response to climate change, Korea is attempting to shift the paradigm of energy and climate change policies by introducing carbon pricing based on market mechanisms. While policy adoption is proceeding at a rapid pace, the introduction of carbon pricing has been faced with great opposition from industry. This study measures to what extent Korean companies understand and accept carbon pricing, using data from a questionnaire survey covering energy consuming companies in 2012, when discussions between the government and such companies about the introduction of a domestic emission trading system were active. It further identifies how preparations and practices for carbon and energy management of companies correlate with their policy understanding and acceptance. The analysis results show that the surveyed companies indicate moderate understanding of, as well as resistance to carbon pricing policies, while appreciating the economic incentives and accepting the mandatory regulations in this phase. Companies' understanding is more related to characteristics, i.e., sector, size, etc. than external pressures. This study found that the extent to which companies understand policy is the essential factor in their policy acceptance and related practices. In particular, understanding of carbon policy significantly influences their managerial practices and voluntary activities for carbon and energy practices. This study substantiates the correlation between the level of policy understanding of a company and its carbon and energy practices - something that all countries seeking to introduce carbon pricing in response to climate change should consider prior to policy actually being implemented; in other words, enhancing the understanding of major policy subjects of the new instrument is a key policy strategy that should be elaborated as it will lead to better performance of companies and smoother policy implementation.
