  • The optimum conditions for the submerged mycelial culture of Lentinus edodes SR-1 were elucidated to be incubation temperature of 25C, initial pH 4.0, agitation of 300 rpm, inoculation of 10.0%(v/v), and aeration of 1.0 v/v/m in TGY medium. The optimum c/n ratio and economic yield coeffcient for the submerged mycelial culture were 13.1:1 and 0.45 respectively. As the plant growth hormones test, SCM medium containing 0.5ppm of 2,4-dicholorophenoxyacetic acid increased mycelial yield in 1.1%, but 6-benzylaminopurine was not effective.

  • Purpose: Perceived stigma may disrupt the ability of people with physical disability to successfully adapt to their situation. The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between perceived stigma and self-esteem among adults with physically disabled. Method: The sample was drawn from August to October of 2006 at the rehabilitation centers and public health centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, Korea. The data were collected from 314 persons with physical difficulty. Self-esteem was measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Perceived stigma was measured using the Perceived Stigma Scale for the person with physical disability developed by Lee. Result: There were significant differences of perceived stigma of the person with physical disability according to marital status and economic status. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between perceived stigma and self-esteem of the person with physical disability. Conclusion: The Findings of this study suggest that using nursing intervention to decrease the perceived stigma may promote self-esteem among persons with physical disability.

  • The diameter of the rotor of 2MW wind turbine is being developed by a number of companies with more than 80m, reliability and economic efficiency of the wind power generator has been improved. The need for large-scale wind turbine with excellent economy has been attracting attention because the new orders and the location of the wind turbine market has reached a limit. Technology development for enlargement of wind turbine is possible not only the improvement of energy efficiency but also reduce the construction costs per unit capacity. However, mechanical gearboxes used in wind generators have problems of wear, damage, need for lubrication oil and maintenance. Therefore, we want to configure the gearbox of a large-scale wind turbine using a magnetic gear in order to solve these problems of mechanical gearbox.

  • For the large scale of electricity consumer, since the price for the electricity consumption depends on the peak power, the issue for peak power reduction have been being studied widely. Electric railway systems, which is one of the most representative large scale of loads, also has assignment to reduce the peak power since they have high peak power and low energy consumption load characteristics. In the aspect of the economic operation through reduction of peak power, this paper proposes a novel algorithm for power management system in electric railway systems using energy storage.

  • Modern society is transforming into an extreme climate environment. This is fatal to humans and ecosystems and is expected to cause large-scale damage. As this spokesman, natural disasters are increasing as this global average temperature rises. Social and economic damage by this tendency is also increasing. In addition, the frequency and scale of social disasters are increasing. Damage to the living area due to the damage of the infrastructure due to the increased reliance on infrastructure has been increasingly enlarged. In this research, various disasters such as natural disasters and social disasters analyze the impact on urban safety. A local autonomous entity K Priority Management Establish a kind of disaster, prepare crisis management manual, and use it as a basic material of education / training.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the degree of depression between men and women and to identify factors influencing their depression. Methods: Participants in this cross-sectional descriptive study were 263 persons over 65 years old (men: 103, women: 160). Data were collected through face to face interviews using questionnaires and were done in two urban areas in 2010. Research instruments utilized in this study were SGDS, MMSE-K, SRH, FILE, sleep pattern scale, family and friend support scale, and social support scale. Multivariate regression analysis was performed to identify factors influencing depression in elders. Results: The proportions of participants with depression were significantly different between men and women (52.4% vs. 67.5%). Regression model for depression in elderly men significantly accounted for 54%; disease stress (32%), economic stress (10%), perceived health status (4%), and family support, educational level, age, and hypertension. Regression model for depression in elderly women significantly accounted for 47%; disease stress (25%), perceived social loneliness (8%), friend support (5%), family stress (4%), and sleep satisfaction, and family support. Conclusion: Results demonstrate that depression is an important health problem for elders, and show gender differences for factors influencing depression. These results could be used in the developing depression prevention programs.

  • Small-scale hydropower systems offer several advantages compared to other alternatives as an important source of energy in both developed and developing countries. This study proposes systematic criteria for screening of small-scale hydropower sites to determine their potential for farther study, and demonstrates the general procedure. These criteria are based on the physical characteristics of the sites and their social, environmental and economic aspects. The procedure presented shows great flexibility for screening based on the availability of information and situation at the site.

  • As the need for clean coal technology has grown, so has the global research and development efforts into integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plants. An IGCC plant couples a gas turbine to a gasification block. Various technical and economic problems exist in designing such a system. One such problem is the difficulty in realizing economies of scale because the single-train flow capacity of commercial IGCC synthetic gas turbine plants is limited; the capacity does not exceed a net power rating of 300 MW. To address this problem, this study modeled and simulated a synthetic gas turbine with the goal of evaluating the feasibility of a 500 MW or larger IGCC plant. First, a gas turbine with the best output and efficiency was chosen for use with natural gas. The turbine was modeled using GateCycle (a simulation tool), and the integrity of the model validated by comparing the result to the design value. Next, off-design modeling was carried out for a gas turbine with synthetic gas based on its on-design model, and the result was compared with the study result of the gas turbine manufacturer. The simulation confirmed that it is possible to create a large capacity IGCC plant by undertaking the remodeling of a gas turbine designed to use natural gas into one suitable for synthetic gas.

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the professionalism identity and related factors in dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 347 dental hyfienists from March 5 to May 31, 2015. Except incomplete 39 answers, data were analyzed by frequency analysis, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 22.0. The questionnaire comprised 25 items including professionalism scale by Hall, Snizek, and Anderson by Likert 5 point scale. Results: Professionalism scale revealed self-regulation($3.65{\pm}0.58$), service conviction($3.64{\pm}0.62$), skills and training($3.21{\pm}0.70$), sense of professional vocation($3.20{\pm}0.65$), and thought about professional group($3.08{\pm}0.78$). The professionalism identity by general characteristics showed significant differences and there were positive correlations in main factors. The identity level was influenced by internal factors rather than economic compensation. Conclusions: There were positive correlation in main factors. The identity level was influenced by internal factors.

  • Agricultural is recognised as being the leading contributor to groundwater. As a consequence, the consumer have to has bear the high expenses of water supplied to be treated. Importantly, the cost of water supplied is a function of the water quality as well as the scale of drinking water treatments. The relationship between the consumer payment and water quality improvement was affected by the scale of drinking water treatments directly. Hence when we achieve the high quality and low cost in the case of groundwater treatment for drinking, it is needed to consider both water quality and plant scale.
