Paleomagnetic data have been obtained from the Upper Carboniferous-Permian Komok and Cheolam Groups which are exposed in the E-W trending Baekunsan syncline comprising the Pyongan Supergroup in eastern Korea. Two ancient components of magnetization are recovered in these groups by detailed thermal demagnetization: a post-folding component and a pre-folding component. The post-folding component $(D/I=54.0/54.6^{\circ},\;{\alpha}_{95}=14.6^{\circ})$ is a magnetic signature of the Oaebo Orogeny and appears to have been confined mainly to Cretaceous Normal Superchron. It has been rotated clockwise since this magnetization has been acquired. The pre-folding components ($D/I=341/-9.2^{\circ},\;{\alpha}_{95}=7.2^{\circ})$, paleopole at $335.7^{\circ}E$, $44.6^{\circ}N$ for Upper Carboniferous; $D/I=358.3/11.5^{\circ},\;{\alpha}_{95}=6.3^{\circ})$, paleopole at $311.9^{\circ}E$, $58.7^{\circ}N$ for Permian) pass fold and reversal tests. These paleopoles correspond only with the contemporaneous poles from the North China Block: they are removed from the poles from the South China Block. If the results of this study are corrected for the clockwise rotation deduced from the prefolding component, the enhanced agreement with North China Block can be achieved. Therefore, a first-order correlation between the Korean Peninsula and North China at least since Upper Paleozoic times is identified in this study.
Paleomagnetic data have been obtained from the Lower Triassic Tonggo formation which is exposed in the E-W trending Baekunsan syncline comprising the Pyongan Supergroup in eastern Korea. Two ancient components of magnetization are recovered in this formation by detailed thermal demagnetization: a post-folding component and a pre-folding component The post-folding component ($D/I=58.8/55.5^{\circ}$) is normally magnetized and appears to acquire in the Cretaceous Normal Superchron. It is a magnetic signature of the Daebo Orogeny and has been rotated clockwise since this magnetization has been acquired, in common with the main synclinal axis. The pre-folding component ($D/I=1.1/19.4^{\circ}$, Paleopole at $306.1^{\circ}E$, $63.2^{\circ}N$) passes fold and reversal tests and is inferred to be a post-depositional or early chemical diagenetic remanence of Lower-Middle Triassic age. This paleopole corresponds only with the Lower Triassic poles from the North China Block: it is removed from the contemporary poles from the South China Block. If the result of this study is corrected for the clockwise rotation deduced from the Cretaceous overprint, the enhanced agreement with the Lower Triassic poles from the North China block can be achieved. Therefore, a first order correlation between the Korean Peninsula and North China at least since Lower Triassic times is identified in this study.
LED has received intensive research attention due to its long life, high efficacy, fast response and wide colour availability, and has secured extensive application areas. However, LED chips within the modules convert only fraction of electric energy into light, and majority of supplied energy needs to be dissipated as heat, which challenges in the performance and life of the LED modules. IEC 62717 specifies the performance requirements for LED modules together with the test methods and conditions. The present study examined the influence of different design parameters on performance temperature through series of experiments and numerical simulations. The economic means to change the module performance temperature during the measurement of mandatory markings were suggested based on predicted cooling performances.
This paper seeks to build on previous work conducted by Porter, Devol, Florida, Bahrami and Evans, Wennberg and Lindqvist, and others contained in the literature, to construct a new way of looking at innovation cluster development. It seeks to describe the key elements contained in the research that serve as building blocks for innovation clustering, adding analysis dimensions that aim to further illuminate understanding of this process. It compares those building block characteristics to the innovation topography of U.S. urban centers, to shed light on a new framework through which urban innovation cluster formation can be considered. It identifies three building block analysis categories: 1) Technological Capability and Capacity (TCC); 2) Intellectual Propulsion Capacity (IPC); and 3) Structural Creative Inspiration (SCI). These three pillars form the architecture for creation of a Strategic Innovation Network (SIN), upon which clustering can be systematically analysed and built. The purpose of the SIN is to optimally organize and connect all available resources that include physical, financial, and human, such that innovation clustering is inspired, encouraged, nurtured, and ultimately constructed as fully functioning socio-economic organisms that provide both local and regional benefits. It is designed to aid both private enterprise and public policy leaders in their strategic planning considerations, and to enhance urban economic development opportunities.
The interstate electric power system, as an alternative for energy cooperation under regional economic block, was fervently debated prior to the restructuring of electric power industries and rapidly expanded in many regions since the 1990s. Especially, electric power system interconnection in the Northeast Asia region may bring considerable economic benefits since this region has strong supplementation in resource holdings, load shape, fuel mix, and etc. In this paper, we implement the ORIRES model, proposed by ESI of Russia, in order to analyze the economic feasibility on the Northeast Asia Region Electrical System Ties (NEAREST) project.

Interstate electric power system, as an alternative for energy cooperation under regional economic block, has been hotly debated before progressing the restructure in electric power industry and rapidly expanded in many regions after 1990s. Especially, since northeast asia has strong supplementation in resource, load shape, fuel mix etc., interconnection of electric power systems in this region may bring considerable economic benefits. This paper implements a mathematical optimization model, ORIRES, proposed by Russia, in analysing the economic feasibility of system interconnection. Additional analyses on the environmental impact of the system interconnection, and sensitivity of key factor inputs have been performed.
This study presents the impact of natural flow patterns on downstream fish habitat and economic outcomes in the Dal Stream, Korea. The study reach is 3.35 km long, located downstream form the Goesan Dam. To assess such impact, this study performed physical habitat simulations. The River2D model was used for the computation of the flow and the HSI model for the habitat simulation. Two physical habitat variables, flow depth and velocity, were used. The Zacco platypus, Zacco temminckii, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, and Opsariichthys bidens were selected as the target species in the study area. Using the building block approach (BBA), the scenarios for the hydropeaking mitigation were presented. Scenario 1 and scenario 2 were proposed by using the magnitude - duration concept and averaged the hydrologic data over the each month, respectively. Simulation results indicated that the scenarios effects significantly increased by about 18.6% for the weighted usable area (WUA). In addition, hydroelectric power benefits with both scenarios were investigated. It was revealed that the change of storing and releasing water decreased by about 27% for hydroelectric power benefits. In order to increase economic benefits, the scenario was modified with the discharges corresponding to the hydropeaking condition except the flood season. As a result, the hydroelectric power benefits were almost the same, however the aquatic habitat for the target species increased by about 5%. The change of dam re-operations through natural flow patterns provides an opportunity to minimize environmental and economic benefits in order to balance water management.
A program code was developed to calculate block hydraulic conductivity of the 2-D DFN(discrete fracture network) system based on equivalent pipe network, and implemented to examine the effect of joint orientation distribution on the hydraulic characteristics of fractured rock masses through numerical experiments. A rock block of size $32m{\times}32m$ was used to generate the DFN systems using two joint sets with fixed input parameters of joint frequency and gamma distributed joint size, and various normal distributed joint trend. DFN blocks of size $20m{\times}20m$ were selected from center of the $32m{\times}32m$ blocks to avoid boundary effect. Twelve fluid flow directions were chosen every $30^{\circ}$ starting at $0^{\circ}$. The directional block conductivity including the theoretical block conductivity, principal conductivity tensor and average block conductivity were estimated for generated 180 2-D DFN blocks. The effect of joint orientation distribution on block hydraulic conductivity and chance for the equivalent continuum behavior of the 2-D DFN system were found to increase with the decrease of mean intersection angle of the two joint sets. The effect of variability of joint orientation on block hydraulic conductivity could not be ignored for the DFN having low intersection angle between two joint sets.
The world Economy has rearranged into three economic block. Especially, the nation's economy in Northeast area are an engine of world economic development. Among these nations in Northeast area china has done a main role of the development of world economy. Owing to raising of the China economy, the Export-Import of container load has rapidly increased in this area. So it is very important of the nation to manage a port. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analysis a port of Masan and to search the way of development. To accomplish this purpose, I will analyze a logistics circumstance in northeast area and a port of Pusan and Jinhae. In conclusion, government and local government must enlarge the investment to develope the port of Masan. Local government should do its best effort to solve the problem of port of Masan. And all citizen should recognize that a development of the port of Masan will be the engine of the raising of Masan.
In recent years, extreme rainfall and rainy seasons caused by climate change have caused river flooding and flooding damage, and it is urgent to solve economic and environmental problems in the city center due to the increase in the number of peak homes. The gap block, called the fitting block, is designed to facilitate rainwater pitching by forming a gap between the block and the block by forming a concave part and a protrusion of the block differently without the use of an existing spacer. In this study, for the production of such a gap block, the existing cement content was reduced and aramid fibers and exploration fibers, which are industrial by-products such as Goroslag fine powder and reinforcing fibers, were applied.
