This study was conducted to investigate the algicidal characteristics of cashew nut oil (CNO) and to develop CNO mixtures with other compounds having synergistic effects on the growth inhibition against a blue-green alga, Microcystis aeruginosa. Among tested CNOs, CNO with higher anacardic acid contents (Ana-A) exhibited the best algicidal activity against M. aeruginosa. Ana-A showed broad algicidal spectrum with particular greater activity against blue-green algae than green algae. Ana-A showed the greatest activity against to Oscillatoria tenuis ($IC_{50}=0.19{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$) among the tested blue-green algae and to Chlorella vulgaris ($IC_{50}=4.54{\mu}g\;mL^{-1}$) among the tested green algae, respectively. In a mixture experiment to evaluate a chemical interaction in M. aeruginosa control, Ana-A showed a strong synergistic effect with MSB and menadione, mild synergistic effect with citric acid, and additive effect with chryspophanol, copper sulfate and quinoclamine. Taken together, our results suggest that CNO containing higher anacardic acid can be used as an eco-friendly natural algicide for selective control of blue-green algae such as M. aeruginosa and O. tenuis through an optimization of application rate and in combination with synergists such as MSB and menadione.
In this study, an eco-friendly combustion process of waste 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT: 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene) was developed, and fundamental data for the quantity of the organic matter in the final combustion residues is presented. Because complete combustion of TNT is not possible theoretically, the combustion process was optimized to reduce organic matter content in the combustion residue by performing measures such as heating time changes, addition of propellant material, and after treatment using a high-temp electrical furnace. From the results, it was confirmed that the organic matter content in the residue could be decreased to 7 ~ 10% with each method. The quantity of the organic matter could be minimized by optimizing the combustion conditions of the process. With only a combustion time increase, the amount of organic matter in the combustion residues was measured at about 9 wt%. The environmental friendliness of the final exhaust gas was also confirmed by real time gas component analyses. In addition, the organic contents could be reduced by a further 2 wt% by applying an additional heat treatment using an external electric furnace after the first incineration treatment. In the combustion process of propellant added waste TNT, it was found that various TNT wastes could be treated using the same eco-friendly protocols because the organic content in the residue decreased in accordance with the amount of propellant. The amount of the organic matter content produced by all these methods fulfilled the requirements under the Waste Management Act.
For being recent high oil price age, the interest in superheated steam drying technology is increasing as the method to enhance the energy efficiency of drying process consuming a lot of energy. This technology uses the superheated steam as drying medium to dry the materials and has advantages that can save the energy by recycling the evaporated high-temperature steam, enhance the quality of dried products, and minimize the exhaust of environmental pollution materials. In this work, it has been introduced from general drying principle to the principle and related studies of drying technology using superheated steam, using examples of superheated steam with dryer types, and industrial applications.
In this study, we report on the synthesis and properties of eco-friendly waterborne polyurethane (WPU) according to bio-polyol contents. It was successfully synthesized by the different polyester polyol (DT-1040) and castor oil based polyol (COP) ratios. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the synthesized bio polyol based waterborne polyurethane was around -70 ℃ and -30 ℃, and it was confirmed that the Tg range was widened as the COP content increased. In addition, as the COP content increased, the tensile strength decreased, and optimum adhesive strength showed when DT-1040:COP ratio was 7:3.
This paper explained the equipment and process development to secure the source technology of controlled nitrification technology. The nitriding potential in the furnace was controlled only by adjusting the flow rate of ammonia gas introduced into the furnace. In addition, a control system was introduced to automate the nitriding process. The equipment's hardware was designed to enable controlled nitriding based on the conventional gas nitriding furnace, and an automation device was attached. As a result of measuring the temperature and quality uniformity for the equipment, the temperature and compound uniformity were ±1.2℃ and 14.3 ± 0.2 ㎛, respectively. And, it was confirmed that nitriding potential was controlled within the tolerance range of AMS2759-10B standard. In addition to parts for controlled nitriding, it was applied to products produced in existing conventional nitriding furnaces, and as a result, gas consumption was reduced by up to 80%.
In this paper, we analyze the current research technology trends through the literature reviews of technical outlines of electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, domestic and overseas policy trends, etc. After analyzing the literature, we found out while the re-use and recycling of waste batteries and the in-wheel motor systems are essential areas for the development of electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, the related research is not quite sufficient, so the direction for further research is proposed at the conclusion.
Manufacturing with a chemical for eco-friendly leather for nitrogen decrease of leather falling hair process waste water and the falling hair process that a number to decrease with sulfuration water decrease, a pollution load of COD, BOD. In this study manufactured lining agent and the unhairing assist product which did urea, mercaptan by basic matter. As a result of having dealt in hair saving process, compared, and was recalled by the existing hair burning process recovered hair, increased approximately 2times. Grain state to influence the yield that was quality of leather and an index of productivity evaluation, an improvement of contraction phenomenon (drawing) were possible. Is increased going seal, tear strength property of matter and softness and touch leather native nature in wet blue. Also, it is possible confirmation with decrease being more possible than about 50% COD, T-N density in a hair saving waste water.

With evolution in the production environment of the textile industry, the need for non-water-based dyeing technologies and eco-friendly process facilities in the dyeing and processing stages has increased. In recent years, supercritical fluid dyes have been developed and commercialized in Europe, centering on this demand. However, so far, such dyes have been mainly applied in the processing of PET fibers. Basic research has mainly involved investigation of dyeing by supercritical carbon dioxide or solubility of such dyes, and more in-depth research should be continuously carried out. In this review, we describe the types and characteristics of supercritical fluids that exhibit specific properties at pressures and temperatures over the critical point. In addition, the state of the art in the dyeing and processing technology using supercritical fluids and associated, processing problems, environmental regulation, and wastewater treatment issues are described in detail. We hope this review can contribute to the supercritical fluid technology being further developed as an environment friendly dyeing processing method. Furthermore, we expect that the technique can be used as a means of ensuring different, high-quality dyed products.
A bacterial isolate derived from soil samples near a cattle farm was found to display extracellular phytase activity. Based on 16S rRNA sequence analysis, the strain was named Bacillus sp. T4. The optimum temperature for the phytase activity toward magnesium phytate (Mg-$InsP_6$) was $40^{\circ}C$ without 5 mM $Ca^{2+}$ and $50^{\circ}C$ with 5 mM $Ca^{2+}$. T4 phytase had a characteristic bi-hump two pH optima of 6.0 to 6.5 and 7.4 for Mg-$InsP_6$. The enzyme showed higher specificity for Mg-$InsP_6$ than sodium phytate (Na-$InsP_6$). Its activity was fairly inhibited by EDTA, $Cu^{2+}$, $Mn^{2+}$, $Co^{2+}$, $Ba^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$. T4 phytase may have great potential for use as an eco-friendly feed additive to enhance the nutritive quality of phytate and reduce phosphorus pollution.

This study developed the learning criteria for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics to establish the theoretical background of the education pursued by STEAM. The learning criteria was developed on a basis of 6 kinds of Technology Home Economics textbooks by 2009 Amended Curriculum, and the factors of STEAM were extracted according to related contents. From the results of this study, the unit 'Dress and Self-expression' assimilated T.E.A.M with learning related to clothing psychology, consumer behavior, fashion design, and Korean fashion. The unit 'eco-friendly clothing and fixing clothes' was found to assimilate S.T.E.A.M. with learning related to clothes science and dress structure. Accordingly we can understand this unit also consists of the S. T. E. A. M assimilation such as clothes science, fashion marketing, dress structure, dress aesthetics, design and so on. Both units 'dress and self-expression' and 'eco-friendly clothing and fixing clothes' were found to consist of suggesting situations, creative planning and emotional experience following the learning criteria of STEAM. Therefore, these units will be the basic material for developing STEAM programs centering upon 'Home Economics' among the curriculum.
