The efficiency of transgenic livestock animal production may be improved by early selection of transgenci preimplantation embryos. To examine the possibility of GFP gene as a non-invasive marker for the early screening of transgenic embryo, the GFP gene was microinjected into rabbit zygotes and the later stages of preimplantation embryos were examined for the expression of GFP. The presence of injected DNA was detected by PCR analysis and the expression of GFP was detected by observing green fluorescence in embryos under a fluorescent microscope. Out of 108 GFP gene-injected rabbit zygotes, seventy three(67.6%) were fluorescence-positive. When 11 fluroresecence-positive blastocysts were analyzed for the presence of GFP gene by PCR, 6(54.5%) were positive, and all of the 8 flrouescence-negative blastocysts were also negative by PCR. The results indicate that the screening of transgene in rabbit embryos by PCR analysis and GFP detection could be a promising method for the preselection of transgenic embryos.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to try to understand the essence of the experience early turnover of the new nurse by applying the phenomenological method and to provide basic data for a community-based management program. Method: Phenomenological approach was used to identify subjects experience. Subjects were five new nurses, with less than one year of clinical experience in clinical practice. This study used in-depth interview. Results: there were 104 meaningful sentences or phrases, with 41 generally comprehensive thema. Finally, thema were classified into 12 thema clusters. Conclusion: Finally, based on the results, some suggestions regarding management of early turnover of new nurses are needed. First, we proposed a new characterized of hospital selection method for each hospital. Second, practical training in clinical practice in the school and the community is necessary in order to reduce the real impact of new nurses. New nurses require various support elements in order to mitigate the real shock the first time they encounter clinical practice. Third, addition of work-related training and promotion of a self-esteem program will be needed. Fourth, interview opportunities with seniors who adapted successfully in clinical should be provided for new nurses. In addition, continuous communication should be provided for new nurses.

For cold weather concreting, frost damage at early age is generated in the concrete, and problems such as delaying of setting and hardening and lowering of strength manifestation emerge due to the low outside air temperature at the early stage of pouring, making the selection of an effective curing method critically important. Unfortunately, the tent sheet currently used as the curing film for heating insulation at work sites, not only has the problems of inferior permeability and extremely deteriorated airtightness, but a phenomenon of continuous fracturing is also generated along the direction of fabric of the material itself, presenting difficult circumstances for maintaining adequate curing temperature. The aim of this study was to develop an improved bubble sheet type curing film for heating insulation of cold weather concrete by combining mesh-tarpaulin, which has excellent tension properties, with bubble sheet, which offers superior insulation performance. The analysis showed that the improved curing film in which BBS1 is stacked to MT was a suitable replacement for curing films currently in use, as it has better permeability, tension property, and insulation performance than the T type film used at work sites today.

Over past decades, numerous in vitro model has been developed to investigate drug metabolism. In the order of complexity we found the isolated perfused liver, hepatocytes in co-culture with epithelial cells, hepatocytes in suspension and in primary culture and subcellular hepatic microsomal fractions. Because they can be easily prepared from both animals (pharmacological and toxicological species) and humans (whole livers as well as biopsies obtained during surgery) hepatocytes in primary culture provide the most powerful model to better elucidate drug behavior at an early stage of preclinical development such as : 1. the characterization of main biotransformation reactions. 2. the identification of phase I and phase II isozymes involved in such reactions 3. the evaluation of interspecies differences allowing the selection of a second toxicological animal species more closely related to man on the basis of metabolic profiles 4. the detection of the inducing and/or inhibitory effects of a drug on metabolic enzymes, the prediction of drug interactions 5. the estimation of inter-individual variability in biotransformation reactions. The use of hepatocytes, and in particular those obstained from humans, at an early stage of drug development allows the obtention of more predictive preclinical data and a better knowledge of drug behavior in humans before the first administration of the drug in healthy volunteers.

A GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) using GPS provides us with very useful information concerning the positioning of users in many sectors such as transportation, social services, the justice system and customs services, public works, search and rescue systems and leisure. A GNSS using the Galileo satellite is due to work in 2008 and expected to be used in various fields such as aviation, marine transportation, land surveying, resources development precise agriculture, telemetics, and so on. In this paper, we discuss the implementation and testing of a combined GPS/Galileo receiver which we named KSTAR V1.0. Each tracking module of GPS/Galileo dual mode correlator has the five track arms which consist of Very Early code, Early code, Prompt code, late code, and Very late code. Each of 24 tracking modules can be assigned to GPS and/or Galileo signal by changing mode selection register. The basic correlator integration dump period is set to 1ms for GPS C/A code and fast Galileo signal tracking. The performance of the developed combined GPS/Galileo receiver was tested and evaluated using the IF (Intermediated Frequency)-level GPS/Galileo signal generator.

An ecological survey of early childhood nutrition and parasitic infection was undertaken among 102 children aged 3 to 6 atteending the three day care centers of Hongcheon county Kangwon province between June and July 1987. In frequency of skipping meal 35.1% of subjects often skipped breakfast ; 3.1% skipped breakfast every day. About 53% of those children complained of having poor appetite at breakfast. The percentage of children having meals with all the family members was 94.8% for breakfast and 97.9% for evening meal. In eatinf behavior 20.6% of the subjects had meals while watching TV; 21.6% moved around during a meal ; 22.1% hadmeal talking loudly ; 35.1% had quiet meal. Approximately 63% of children used chopsticks and others used fork or spork. Concerning of dietary staple boiled rice was dominant. The diversity of food selection by those children was so linmited that simply only one or two items of side-dishes and /or souop were taken at home. Subjects liked yorgurt milk lavers fruits and Ramyun in contrast to the loweest preference for fermented fist aroma-tic vegetables butter and margarine. The positive prevealence of parasitic infection was 35.5% including than that observed in any other rural areas. Incidence of Fibricola seoulenis was caused by local habit of eating hibernate frogs without enough boiling.
It has been known that $\gamma$-irradiation usually induces cell death in regenerating stem cell in normal tissues like skin, intestine and hematopoietic organ. The experiment were carried out to evaluate the early response of radiation injury in radiosensitive and intermediate radiosensitive tissues in feeding and starving rats with the doses of 3.5 and 7.0 Gy. The results of the study showed that the histological phenomenon was apoptosis in the doses of the radiation as the early response of tissue injury. Apoptosis were showed organ-specific and cellular specific responses suggesting that the selection of apoptosis be exactly focused on highly renewal organs and cells. It was interesting that the rats starved for 72 hours prior to irradiation induced less apoptosis in liver than fed rats. As for cellular responses it appeared that apoptotic cells were mostly distributed in ductal or periportal cells in liver of feeding rats unlikely in liver of Starving rots which showed no difference in zonal distribution. In salivary gland apoptotic cells in fed rats were highly induced in intercalating and ductal cell population than in acinar cell population although unlikely in starved rats. This study showed the value of apoptosis using the detection system of TUNEL for evaluating cellular damage after radiation injury and the diminished effect of starvation on cell damage after ionizing irradiation.
An assay for detecting Apple scar skin viroid (ASSVd) was developed based on nucleic acid sequence based amplification (NASBA) in combination with realtime detection during the amplification process using molecular beacon. The ASSVd specific primers for amplification of the viroid RNA and molecular beacon for detecting the viroid were designed based on highly conserved regions of several ASSVd sequences including Korean isolate. The assay had a detection range of $1{\times}10^4$ to $1{\times}10^{12}$ ASSVd RNA $copies/{\mu}l$ with reproducibility and precision. Following the construction of standard curves based on time to positive (TTP) value for the serial dilutions ranging from $1{\times}10^7$ to $1{\times}10^{12}$ copies of the recombinant plasmid, a standard regression line was constructed by plotting the TTP values versus the logarithm of the starting ASSVd RNA copy number of 10-fold dilutions each. Compared to the established RT-PCR methods, our method was more sensitive for detecting ASSVd. The real-time quantitative NASBA method will be fast, sensitive, and reliable for routine diagnosis and selection of viroid-free stock materials. Furthermore, real-time quantitative NASBA may be especially useful for detecting low levels in apple trees with early viroid-infection stage and for monitoring the influence on tree growth.

Common hydrological problems of developing countries include poor data management, insufficient measuring devices and ungauged watersheds, leading to small or unreliable data availability. This has greatly affected the adoption of artificial intelligence techniques for flood risk mitigation and damage control in several developing countries. While climate datasets have recorded resounding applications, but they exhibit more uncertainties than ground-based measurements. To encourage AI adoption in developing countries with small ground-based dataset, we propose data augmentation for regression tasks and compare performance evaluation of different AI models with and without data augmentation. More focus is placed on simple models that offer lesser computational cost and higher accuracy than deeper models that train longer and consume computer resources, which may be insufficient in developing countries. To implement this approach, we modelled and predicted streamflow data of the Asa River Watershed located in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria. Results revealed that adequate hyperparameter tuning and proper model selection improve streamflow prediction on small water dataset. This approach can be implemented in data-scarce regions to ensure timely flood intervention and early warning systems are adopted in developing countries.

Selection of potential disease-specific biomarkers from saliva or epithelial tissues through next generation sequencing (NGS)-based protein studies has recently become possible. The early diagnosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has been difficult, if not impossible, until now due to the lack of an effective OSCC biomarker and efficient molecular validation method. The aim of this study was to summarize the advances in the application of NGS in cancer research and to propose potential proteomic and genomic saliva biomarkers for NGS-based study in OSCC screening and diagnosis programs. We have reviewed four categories including definitions and use of NGS, salivary biomarkers and OSCC, current biomarkers using the NGS-based technique, and potential salivary biomarker candidates in OSCC using NGS.
