The power industry is currently facing many challenges, due to the new environment created by the introduction of smart grid technologies. In particular, the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) may have a significant impact on demand for electricity and, thereby, influence generation and transmission system planning. However, it is difficult to deal with uncertainties in EV charging loads using deterministic planning methods. This paper presents a two-stage stochastic decomposition method with Latin-hyper rectangle sampling (LHRS) to solve the integrated generation and transmission planning problem incorporating EV deployment. The probabilistic distribution of EV charging loads is estimated by Latin-hyper rectangle sampling (LHRS) to enhance the computational performance of the proposed method. Numerical results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
As the number of electric vehicles (EV) increases, there is an increasing interest in the post-vehicle application of the EV batteries. For the second use application of EV batteries, the state of health (SOH) at the end of automotive service has to be evaluated differently from the automotive perspective. It will be helpful to consider the driving conditions of EVs in understanding the performance deterioration trend of the battery. In this paper, we acquired the battery status information in real time during driving and compared the characteristics by the driving routes. The SOH from the BMS can be rescaled to percentage ratio to give a more general idea about the performance degradation.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to classify that the quality factors for comparing the Visegrard Group with the Nordic Council have historical similarities against Germany and the Soviet Union. However, this is because in the integrated European market, the competitiveness possessed by the two groups of countries is invested in the priority order to grow. Research design, data, and methodology - The study was conducted on the research design, and the reason for trying to compare the competence of the automobile industry in the assessment of industrial capability is that the Visegrard Group focuses on automotive production and the Nordic Association focuses on the commercialization of the automobile(market). In this study, searching and quantifying indirect evidence was made through standards are more complementary in Europe since each country acts like the role of the European automotive industry for example, which is different from the realistic evaluation criteria, are more important than those of the United States(first in the world) or Germany(first in Europe). Results - The results of this study are as follows: In the global EV market U.S.(export: $ 2.62 billion /share: 36.7%), Germany($ 1.29 billion /18.1%), France($ 390 million /5.4%), United Kingdom($ 380 million /5.4%), and South Korea($ 320 million/ 4.4%). South Korea's share of the EV market is 4.4%, while TSI reaches at +0.9 which measures the comparative advantage of a specific commodity in the world trade market. There is great potential for evaluated as products processing in export competition. But, commercialization, standardization, and overall market expansion did not have a positive impact on global satisfaction. Conclusions - EVs put importance on various utilities. So this suggests that Korea's exports to the EU, including the Visegrard Group, should be more focused on marketability when illuminating with a sharing industrial system under the European Union. It is necessary to specialize in manufacturing and commercialization by country(region) to prepare sharing economy and blockchain in order to create a smart-sharing city linked on artificial intelligence, as the commercialization of electric vehicles, which will have a larger growth rate than that of manufacturing in the fourth revolutionary era.

This paper presents the design of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) for electric air conditioning compressors which are applied to hybrid electric vehicles (EVs). The motor for driving air conditioning compressor which is recently used on EV(electric vehicle) / HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) is PMSM(permanent magnet synchronous motor) or BLDCM(brushless DC motor). However disadvantage of motors that uses permanent magnets are vulnerable to high temperatures because of the demagnetization by the high temperature and the permanent magnet is expensive because of the high price of rare earth materials from China's monopoly. Therefore, in the automotive insustry is interested in the non-rare-earth motors. SRM has many advantages. it's resistant to high temperatures, price is cheaper, because there are no permanent magnets and winding in the rotor. Also it's high relability and efficiency, suitable for high-speed operation because of structure is simple. In this paper, the SRM, non-rare-earth motor, are designed, analyzed and experimented drive to replace an existing electric compressor drive motor.

This study proposes an electric vehicle (EV) smart panel board and its control method on the basis of charging scheduling. The proposed system consists of batteries, a three-phase battery charger, three single-phase inverters, transfer switches for electric power distribution, and a controller. The three-phase battery charger usually charges the batteries at midnight when electric rates are cheap and in light load. When the electric power consumption of the EV standard chargers connected to one phase of the power line is relatively large or when a blackout occurs, the electric power stored in the battery is supplied by discharging through the inverters to the EV standard chargers. As a result, the value of peak load and the charging electric power quantity supplied from a utility grid are reduced, and the current unbalance is improved. The usefulness of the proposed system is confirmed through simulations, experiments, and case studies.
In order to enhance torque density of five-phase permanent magnetic synchronous motor with third harmonic injection for electric vehicles (EVs) applications, optimum seeking method for injection ratio of third harmonic was proposed adopting theoretical derivation and finite element analysis method, under the constraint of same amplitude for current and air-gap flux. By five-dimension space vector decomposition, the mathematic model in two orthogonal space plane, $d_1-q_1$ and $d_3-q_3$, was deduced. And the corresponding dual-plane vector control method was accomplished to independently control fundamental and third harmonic currents in each vector plane. A five-phase PMSM prototype with quasi-trapezoidal flux pattern and its fivephase voltage source inverter were designed. Also, the dual-plane vector control was digitized in a single XC3S1200E FPGA. Simulation and experimental results prove that using the proposed optimum seeking method, the torque density of five-phase PMSM is enhanced by 20%, without any increase of power converter capacity, machine size and iron core saturation.

This paper studies battery charging methods using existing motor inductance and 3-phase inverters without an additional charger to charge the battery of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs). As inverter switch control and motor coil used as the energy storage device for boosting make the system the boost converter, the additional charger is eliminated and volume, weight, and cost for the charger are reduced. Various charging methods according to topologies of the system and configurations of the controller are analyzed and verified by PSIM simulation.

As environmental pollution becomes more serious, the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles is rapidly increasing worldwide. Accordingly, the amount of waste batteries is also increasing, and a technology for recycling and reusing them is required. In order to reuse a used battery, it is necessary to non-destructively diagnose the deterioration condition of the battery. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the diagnosis of degradation for parallel-connected lithium-ion battery cells through non-constructive electrochemical approach. As the number of parallel-connected cells increased, in addition to linear degradation, abrupt step-like degradation occurred, which is attributed to the predominant degradation of specific cells. In addition, it is confirmed that deteriorated cells among multiple cells can be distinguished through a simple measurement of open circuit voltage (OCV).
As wireless power transfer (WPT) technology using strongly coupled electromagnetic resonators is a recently explored technique to realize the large power delivery and storage without any cable or wire, this technique is required for diffusion of electric vehicles (EVs) since it makes possible a convenient charging system. Typically, since the normal conducting coils are used as a transmitting coil in the CPT system, there is limited to deliver the large power promptly in the contactless EV charging system. From this reason, we proposed the combination CPT technology with HTS transmitting antenna, In this study, we examined the improvement of transmission efficiency and properties for HTS and copper antennas, respectively, at 30 cm distance. Thus, we obtained improved transfer efficiency with HTS antenna over 10% compared with copper antenna
