퍼지 제어기를 이용한 전기자동차 구동용 유도전동기의 속도제어 (Speed Control of Induction Motor for Electric Vehicles Using Fuzzy Controller)

  • 본 논문에서는 구현이 간단하고 강인한 제어특성을 갖는 퍼지제어를 이용하여, 연속적으로 부하와 속도지령이 변하는 전기자동차 구동용 유도전동기가 부하에 무관하게 지령속도를 추종할 수 있는 제어기를 구성하고자 한다. 그리고 유도전동기를 구동하기 위한 PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)파형은 최대출력전압이 높고 디지털구현이 용이한 공간전압벡터 변조법을 이용하여 생성하였다. 제안된 시스템이 빠르고 외란에 강할 뿐만 아니라, 지령 속도에 잘 추종함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 연속적으로 속도지령이 변하고 부하변동을 갖으며, 외란의 영향을 받기 쉬운 전기 자동차의 구동장치에 제안된 퍼지 제어기의 타당성을 입증하였다.

전기차 배터리 충전기용 강인한 단위 입력 역률 제어장치 (Robust and Unity Input Power Factor Control Scheme for Electric Vehicle Battery Charger)

  • This study develops a digital control scheme with power factor correction for a front-end converter in an electric vehicle battery charger. The front-end converter acts as the boost-type switching-mode rectifier. The converter assumes the two roles of the battery charger, which include power factor control and robust charging performance. The proposed control scheme consists of a charging control algorithm and a grid current control algorithm. The scheme aims to obtain unity input power factor and robust performance. Based on the linear average model of the converter, a constant-current constant-voltage charging control algorithm that passes through only one proportional-integral controller and a current feed-forward path is proposed. In the current control algorithm, we utilized a second band pass filter, a single-phase phase-locked loop technique, and a duty-ratio feed-forward term to control the grid current to be in phase with the grid voltage and achieve pure sinusoidal waveform. Simulations and experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, both simulations and experiments.

  • LLC resonant converters or phase-shift full-bridge converters have been widely used as DC - DC converters for rapid charging of electric vehicles (EVs). However, these converters present critical disadvantages, including a large circulating current, which can hinder efficiency and miniaturization in EV battery charger applications. In this paper, a new DC - DC converter topology is proposed for EV rapid chargers. The proposed converter can operate at high frequency despite a high rated power capacity of over 20kW, and the problem of circulating current can be minimized during the entire battery charging time. Owing to these advantages, the proposed converter can achieve a high conversion efficiency of over 97% for EV rapid charger applications. The performance of the proposed converter is verified with 20kW prototypes in this study.

  • 이 논문은 그린 딜로 인한 전기 에너지 수요가 급증을 될 수 있기 때문에 이를 제시하고자 한다. 그러나 미래의 전기자동차와 많은 전기 에너지의 조달은 여전히 화석 연료에 의존한다. 이에 IT 산업의 중요성이 부각되고 수소-전기차의 수요와 연관 산업으로 그 수요가 증가하게 된다. 본 연구의 방법은 IT 산업의 전기 에너지 수요보다 미래 차세대 동력으로 전기차의 충전과 연관성을 조사하였다. 이는 실증적 회귀 분석을 통해 경제 성장에 따른 산업용 전기와 가정용 에너지를 성장에 따른 PPP의 상관관계를 도출하였다. 그 결과 전기차와 차세대 전기차를 포함한 변화량은 GDP 대비 구매력 변화 국가의 1/3에서 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 전기차의 수요가 있는 32개국 중 12개 국가(이탈리아, 캐나다, 스위스, 폴란드, 슬로베니아, 독일, 슬로바키아, 핀란드, 스웨덴, 체코, 에스토니아, 덴마크)가 더 많은 전기 에너지에 더 민감하기에 전체 구매력에 영향을 미치게 된다. IT-전기 에너지원의 미사용 전력 낭비를 방지하고, 수소전기 충전-보존함으로써, 향후 성장을 위한 수급에 국가의 IT 산업 보존 완충 시설대비가 필수불가결하다.

  • Global warming is one of the hottest issues which should be solved for future generations. Technologies which prevent the increase of environmental warming are highlighted as the global average temperature increases. Electric vehicles (EVs) are considered to be one of the powerful solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emission. To spread the EV industry, a major premise is that a charging infrastructure is available anywhere the EV operates. In this paper, we will present the demonstration of ' EV quick charging system to the rail power grid' which are cooperated by LS CNS, Seoul Metro and Korea Railway Research Institute.

  • Electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid EVs (HEV) are designed and manufactured by GM, Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai motors. The propulsion system design process for EV requires integrating subsystem designs into an overall system model to maximize the performance of a given propulsion architecture. Therefore, high-power density and high-torque density are important attributes required for EV applications. To improve torque and power density, propulsion motors are designed for saturation during high-torque operation. The nonlinearity associated with core saturation is modeled by incorporating the cross-coupling inductances, which also behave nonlinearly. Furthermore, in EV environments, the battery is directly connected to the DC link, and the battery changes depending on the state of charge. It will be onerous if as many optimal current commands as different $V_{dc}$ were made. This paper presents the optimal current commands in the various operating condition and the current control technique in EV environments.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차 (Electric Vehicles, EVs)에 사용되는 탑재형 충전기 (On-Board Charger, OBC)에 적용된 부하직렬공진형 컨버터 (Series-Loaded Resonant DC-DC Converter, SRC)의 최적 공진주파수를 설계하기 위한 과정을 제시한다. 실제 OBC제품의 입 출력을 토대로 프로세스를 진행하여, 다양한 주파수에 따른 공진 네트워크를 구성한다. 그 결과로 얻어진 파라미터를 이용하여 스위칭 주파수에 따른 자성소자의 사이즈 변화 및 손실량 변화 추이를 분석하여 최적의 설계점을 찾는다.

  • This paper presents the analysis, design and performance of an axial-flux permanent magnet(AFPM) motor with a core-less stator. Axial-flux permanent magnet motors prove to be the best candidate for application in electric vehicles(EVs) as direct drive wheel motors, as in comparison with conventional motors. They allow designs with higher compactness lightness and efficiency. The paper discusses design and construction of a prototype motor, and reports experimental results achieved from laboratory tests.

Conversion-Alloying Anode Materials for Na-ion Batteries: Recent Progress, Challenges, and Perspective for the Future

  • Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been rapidly expanding from IT based applications to uses in electric vehicles (EVs), smart grids, and energy storage systems (ESSs), all of which require low cost, high energy density and high power density. The increasing demand for LIBs has resulted in increasing price of the lithium source, which is a major obstacle to wider application. To date, the possible depletion of lithium resources has become relevant, giving rise to the interest in Na-ion batteries (NIBs) as promising alternatives to LIBs. A lot of transition metal compounds based on conversion-alloying reaction have been extensively investigated to meet the requirement for the anodes with high energy density and long life-time. In-depth understanding the electrochemical reaction mechanisms for the transition metal compounds makes it promising negative anode for NIBs and provides feasible strategy for low cost and large-scale energy storage system in the near future.

On-board Capacity Estimation of Lithium-ion Batteries Based on Charge Phase

  • Capacity estimation is indispensable to ensure the safety and reliability of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles (EVs). Therefore it's quite necessary to develop an effective on-board capacity estimation technique. Based on experiment, it's found constant current charge time (CCCT) and the capacity have a strong linear correlation when the capacity is more than 80% of its rated value, during which the battery is considered healthy. Thus this paper employs CCCT as the health indicator for on-board capacity estimation by means of relevance vector machine (RVM). As the ambient temperature (AT) dramatically influences the capacity fading, it is added to RVM input to improve the estimation accuracy. The estimations are compared with that via back-propagation neural network (BPNN). The experiments demonstrate that CCCT with AT is highly qualified for on-board capacity estimation of lithium-ion batteries via RVM as the results are more precise and reliable than that calculated by BPNN.
