선박용 동기발전기 시스템의 동적 시뮬레이션 (Dynamic Simulation of Synchronous Generator Systems for Ships)

  • Prior to constructing real-time electric power systems in industry fields, a numerical study is generally carried out for demonstrating its reliability by using professional simulation tools. This paper presents a dynamic simulation for synchronous generator systems including excitor and governor systems in ships via the ETAP software. Moreover, we accomplish numerical studies for its dynamics and stability through simulation results applying generic disturbances in practice to constructed electric power systems in ships.

대용량 연료전지발전시스템의 계통외란방지알고리즘에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Countermeasure Algorithm for Power System Disturbance in Large Scale Fuel Cell Generation System)

  • 최근 환경오염원의 배출이 적고, 에너지 효율이 높은 연료전지에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 특히 고온동작 연료전지의 경우 대용량 연료전지발전시스템(FCGS, Fuel Cell Generation System)으로 전력계통에 연계되고 있다. 그러나 대용량 FCGS는 계통의 각종외란(불평형전류, 고조파, 서지 등)에 의하여 보호기기의 오동작, 제어소자의 소손현상 및 제어신호 헌팅현상이 발생하여 이에 대한 대책이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전력분석장비를 이용하여 대용량 FCGS에서 발생하는 실 계통 문제점을 분석하고, PSCAD/EMTDC, ETAP, P-SIM 소프트웨어를 이용하여, FCGS설비 및 FCGS의 접지계통과 불평형전류, 고조파, 서지와 같은 계통외란현상의 모델링을 수행하였다. 또한, 각 계통외란에 대한 방지대책을 수립하기 위하여, 불평형전류를 줄이기 위한 중성점접지저항기(NGR, Neutral Ground Resister)운용알고리즘, 고조파를 기준 범위 이내로 줄이기 위한 고조파필터 설계알고리즘, 서지로부터 설비를 보호하기 위한 SPD(Surge Protective Device) 운용알고리즘, 적절한 접지계통을 적용하기 위한 접지계통 운용알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이를 검증하기 위하여 상기에서 제시한 모델링을 이용하여, FCGS의 주요 장해요인들을 모의한 결과, 본 논문에서 제안된 대용량 FCGS의 계통외란방지알고리즘의 유용성을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Tolerance Band of Voltage Drop during Motor Startup for Refineries and Chemical Plants with Isolated Power Systems

  • Refineries and chemical plants with isolated power systems that have a limited power supply are more susceptible to voltage changes from disturbances compared to power systems connected with a power company. Furthermore, most loads in such cases are induction motor loads, and therefore, transient voltage characteristics when starting a high-capacity motor must be examined. In general, high-capacity motors are customized appropriately to the load performance curve by the manufacturer during the construction of an industrial plant. Subsequently, when complying with the voltage drop permitted by international standards during the design process, power supply equipment such as transformers and generators is overdesigned. Therefore, a novel analysis is necessary on standards for startup and constraint voltage drops, as well as on identifying the voltage drop limitations for starting high-capacity motors in refineries and chemical plants with isolated power systems. In this study, field tests on an industrial plant were conducted, and simulations modeled under conditions identical to those of the field test system were performed using the general-purpose program ETAP in order to compare the results.

지중배전케이블의 허용전류용량 증대를 위한 적정 회선배치 및 관로 이격거리 분석 (Analysis on Proper Cable Arrangement and Duct Distance to Maximize Ampacity of Underground Distribution Cable)

  • Power demand has continuously increased with technological and economical development. The load density is also growing in the center of downtown area. In particular, underground facilities have been increased on the purpose of the prevention of urban disasters and pedestrian environment improvement. Based on this situation, the underground space in urban surroundings has gradually decreased because of the limited space. The ampacity of buried cables is affected by various factors such as cable size, soil thermal resistance, burial depth and filling material. The thermal capacity of the facilities is determined by the absorb heat surrounding the cable and the soil. The maximum operating temperature of cable is the highest temperature when the insulator of cable is not damaged in the case of high enough temperature. In this paper, the most effective cabling configuration is suggested using the duct array adjustment. It was also considered to increase the number of cable line. This underground distribution system was simulated by using ETAP(Electrical Transient Analysis Program).

Weak Feed 전력계통의 블랙스타트와 고조파 공진 사례연구 (A Case Study of Harmonic Resonance & Black Start in Weak Feed Power System)

  • In order to recover the power system during the wide power outage or power failure in the power plant, black start system should be properly operated without any problem. Especially power for black start in the geographically isolated areas of electric island is supplied from small emergency start-up generator, and loads are aux systems of gas turbines such as SFC(Static frequency converter). This paper introduces the international practices to overcome the voltage drop problem with harmonics of the system having the DC output such as SFC during black start in weak feed system and analyzes the relationship between house load inputs and harmonics. By varying the house load and input of power supply, this paper identified boundaries between weak feed and strong feed power. In order to verify the theory of stable condition in weak feed power system with DC output, house load is simulated using ETAP. Additionally MATLAB was used for harmonic analysis between the load inertia moment and non load inertia moment.

  • Direct current(DC) systems have recently attracted attention due to the increase in DC loads and distributed generations, such as renewable energy sources. Among these technologies, there has been much research into DC distribution systems or DC microgrids. Within this body of research, the main topics have been about optimum control and operation methods in terms of improving power efficiency. When DC systems are controlled and operated using power electronic devices such as converters, it is necessary to design and analyze them by considering the power electronics sections. For this reason, we propose a scalable DC system analysis algorithm, which considers various system configurations depending on the operating mode and location of the converter. The algorithm consists of power flow fault current calculations, and the results of the algorithm can be used for designing DC systems. The algorithm is implemented using MATLAB with defined input and output data. The verification of the algorithm is mainly performed using ETAP software, and the accuracy of the algorithm analysis can be confirmed through the results.

  • 원자력발전소의 사고 대처 부하에 전력을 공급하는 전원계통은 다양한 조건에서도 일정 전압이 유지됨을 분석을 통하여 입증한다. 이를 위하여 발전소를 일정부하 운전 상태로 유지하고, 대용량 전동기(원자로냉각재펌프(RCP), 기기냉각수펌프(CCWP))를 각각 기동하여 기동 전 후 안전관련 모선의 전압을 측정하였다. 현장 시험으로 확보된 자료(예, 전압, 전류, 역율 등)는 기존 전력계통해석 모델의 운전 조건으로 재입력하고 재분석을 수행하였다. 이는, 기존 전력계통분석에 사용된 분석기법과 가정들을 실질적인 측정과 결과 분석으로 입증하는 과정이다. 결국, 두 경우의 전압 강하는 발전소 안전에 중요한 기기의 전압이 허용전압 이하로 저하되지 않음과 두 값의 비교 결과가 요구되는 제한치 이내임을 검증한다.
