Commercially available software packages permit to position human models of various geometries in practical scenarios while respecting the anatomical constraints of the skeletal joints and of the bulk of the bodies. Beyond such features, the PAM-Comfort(sup)TM software has been conceived to provide direct access to the muscular forces needed by humans to perform physical actions where muscle force is required. The PAM-Comfort(sup)TM human models are made of multi-body linked anatomical skeletons, equipped with finite elements of the relevant skeletal muscles. The hyper-static problem of determination of muscle forces is solved by optimisation technique. Voluntary stiffening of muscles can be added to the basic contraction levels needed to perform a specific task. The calculated muscle forces obey Hills model. The model and software have been applied in several interesting scenarios of various fields of application, such as car industry, handling of equipment and sports activities.
Lipids play important roles in biological systems; they store energy, play a structural role in the cell membrane, and are involved in cell growth, signal transduction, and apoptosis. Phospholipids (PLs) in particular have received attention in the medical and lipidomics research fields because of their involvement in human diseases such as diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, and many cancers associated with lipid metabolic disorders. Here I review experimental strategies for PL analysis based on nanoflow liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (nLC-ESI-MSn). In particular, discussed are lipid extraction methods, nanoflow LC separation of PLs, effect of ionization modifiers on the ESI of PLs, influence of chain lengths and unsaturation degree of acyl chains of PLs on MS intensity, structural determination of the molecular structure of PLs and their oxidized products, and quantitative profiling of PLs from biological samples such as tissue, urine, and plasma in relation to cancer and coronary artery disease.
This study was performed to develop analytical methods to better understand the properties and reactivity of petroleum, which is a highly complex organic mixture, using high-resolution mass spectrometry and statistical analysis. Ten crude oil samples were analyzed using negative-mode electrospray ionization Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (ESI FT-ICR MS). Clustering methods, including principle component analysis (PCA), hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), and k-means clustering, were used to comparatively interpret the spectra. All the methods were consistent and showed that oxygen and sulfur-containing heteroatom species played important roles in clustering samples or peaks. The oxygen-containing samples had higher acidity than the other samples, and the clustering results were linked to properties of the crude oils. This study demonstrated that clustering methods provide a simple and effective way to interpret complex petroleomic data.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of sports involvement and consumer attitude on fashion advertisement using sports star models(CAATTM) according to demographics and to investigate the effect of sports involvement to CAATTM. The subjects selected for final analysis were 398 adults living in Daejeon. The statistics used for analysis included factor analysis, ANOVA, multiple range test, regression, $Cronbach'\alpha$, and frequency. The results were as follow: 1. Sports Involvement was divided Cognitive Sports Involvement(CSI) and Emotional Sports Involvement(ESI). The CSI and ESI were different according to sex. And CSI was different according to age, education level and marriage status. 2. CATTM was divided into three factors: Emotional Attitude(EA), Cogitive Attitude(CA), and Ethical Attitude(ETA). CA was different according to sex, age, income, and marriage status. 3. The sports involvement affected CAATTM. People who were high in CSI and ESI showed high attitude in EA and CA.

A liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry method (LC-ESI-MS/MS) was used for determining seven pesticides (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, methomyl, aldicarb, 2-methyl- 4-chlorophenoxy- acetic acid, molinate, carbaryl and carbofuran) and two synthetic materials (quinoline and bisphenol-A) in surface water. The analytes were extracted using solid-phase extraction (SPE). The eluate was concentrated by nitrogen gas. 100 microliters of 30% (v/v) methanol aqueous solution were used to dissolve the residue and an aliquot of the reconstituted solution was directly injected into LC-ESI-MS/MS after the filtration using 0.2 μm polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) syringe filter. Under the established condition, the calibration curves of the analytes were linear with correlation coefficients of above 0.997. The quantification limit was 0.002~0.011 μg/L and the relative standard deviations were less than 16.4%. In addition, accuracy was in the range of 84~107% and the recoveries were values between 56.2 and 98.6%. In this study, the developed method was applied to the analysis of real surface water samples.
The stability of W/O emulsions (milk fat : water=4 : 1, w/w) containing various emulsifiers was compared to determine the effect of different chemical types of emulsifiers in relation to the change of HLB value caused by emulsifier type and the influence of single vs. binary emulsifier systems. These variables were compared at emulsifier HLB values of 0.5~16.7 and at emulsifier concentrations of 1.0~3.0%(w/w). Eleven emulsifiers used as 11 different single mixtures and 16 different binary mixtures were evaluated in W/O type emulsion systems containing 20.0%(w/w) of water in milk fat. This W/O emulsion was stable (more than 90.0 of ESI value) in the range of low value of emulsifier HLB (less than 4.7 of HLB value). All the ESI values of binary emulsifier systems were higher than those of single emulsifier systems. But, the influence pattern of emulsifier HLB on this emulsion stability in single emulsifier systems was very similar to the trend in binary emulsifier systems.
By LC/MS/MS, the analytical method of sildenafil and its analogues (homosildenafil, vardenafil and tadalafil) used as used medical treatment of impotence was established. electrosprary ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) as a ionization method were applied. Several parameter were varied and the sensitivity and reproducibility were compared. In LC/ESI-MS method, capillary voltage, cone voltage, extractor, entrance and RF lens to create appropriate productr ions for multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) were variable parameter, but the formation of the other product ions except the precursor ion could not detect. And the value of entrance, collision energy, exit, corona voltage, cone voltage, extractor, RF lens, cone gas, and desolvation gas in APCI mode were varied, only the creation pattern of fragment ions by the change of RF lens value were detected, and the limit of detection was decreased due to the increase of S/N. Ten millimole ammonium formate (pH 4.8):acetonitrile=70:30 by isocratic elution in HPLC system was shown the maximum sensitivity in MS, the detection limit of sildenafil, homosildenafil, vardenafil and tadalafil obtained by ESI-MRM were 0.10, 0.025, 0.025, and $0.25{\mu}g/mL$ at S/N>5, respectively.
An O/W (oil in water) emulsion, wheat germ oil raw material, was produced by using natural wheat germ oil and composite sugar-ester. The effects of variables such as the hydrophile-lipophile balance (HLB) value, added emulsifier amount, and emulsification time on the average particle size, emulsification viscosity and ESI of O/W wheat germ oil emulsion were investigated. The parameters of the emulsification process produced by the central composite design model of the response surface methodology (CCD-RSM), which is a reaction surface analysis method, were simulated and optimized. The optimum process conditions obtained from this paper for the production of O/W wheat germ oil emulsion were 8.4, 6.4 wt%, 25.4 min for the HLB value, amount of emulsifier, and emulsion time, respectively. The predicted reaction values by CCD-RSM model under the optimum conditions were 206 nm, 8125 cP, and 98.2% for mean droplet size (MDS), viscosity, and ESI, respectively, based on the emulsion after 7 days. The MDS, viscosity and ESI of the emulsion obtained from actual experiments were 209 nm, 7974 cP and 98.7%, respectively. Therefore, it was possible to design an optimization process for evaluating the stability of the emulsion of wheat germ oil raw material by CCD-RSM.
In this study, the influence factors on the stability of the O/W (oil in water) emulsions prepared with coconut oil and the nonionic mixed surfactant (Tween 80-Span 80) were evaluated. The concentration and HLB value of the nonionic mixed surfactant, and the degree of agitation were used as manufacture factors. The stability of prepared O/W emulsions were measured with the mean droplet size, zeta-potential, emulsion stability index (ESI), and thermal instability index (TII). The mean droplet size of the prepared O/W emulsions was from 100 to 200 nm. As the concentration of mixed surfactant and the homogenization speed increased, the droplet sizes decreased, while the zeta-potential values increased. The effect of HLB values increased in the order of 6.0, 10.0 and 8.0, and at the HLB value of 8 the smallest mean droplet size as 120 nm was obtained whereas the largest value of the zeta-potential between 10 and 60 mV. From the results of ESI and TII, the stability of prepared O/W emulsions increased in order of 6.0, 10.0 and 8.0 of HLB values, and ESI and TII values were above 80% and below 20% respectively at HLB value of 8.0.
