  • As a series of the studies of EPDM-Polymer blonds, the experiments are concentrated to the investigation of the physical properties of the EPDM-CR blends. The results are shown as follows: 1. In blending, tensile strength decreased with increase in EPDM contents and decreasing value was good results than various EPDM blending. 2. As EPDM Addition ratio is increased physical properties such as elongation have also improved, on the other hand, hardness and abrasion resistance decreased. 3. Aging resistance is less influenced by blending. 4. Tear strength is less influenced by blending and character after aging exhibited the same result. 5. Ozone resistance was much improved after blending. It was effective more than the ratio of EPDM/CR is 25/75.

  • 탄성체로써 EPDM 이오노머와 결정성 보강 고분자로써 폴리아미드-6를 이용하는 새로운 형태의 열가소성 탄성체를 제조하여 이들의 열적 성질을 고찰하였다. 특히 산화아연을 이용하여 말레인화 EPDM으로부터 EPDM 이오노머를 제조할 때 중화도의 영향과 블렌드 중 폴리아미드-6 함량의 영향을 살펴보았다. 중화와 블렌드 공정은 이축압출기를 이용하였다. 말레인화 EPDM의 중화는 냉각 결정화 온도를 상승시켰다. 폴리아미드-6의 높은 결정성은 보강재 효과를 보였다. 블렌드에서 말레인화 EPDM과 폴리아미드-6 사이의 이미드 형성으로 폴리아미드-6의 분산이 양호하게 나타났다. EPDM 이오노머와 폴리아미드-6로 제조한 열가소성 탄성체는 균형적인 기계적 물성과 향상된 내열성을 나타내었다.

EPDM/BR 블렌드의 물성에 미치는 커플링결합체의 영향 (Effects of Coupling Agents on the Properties of EPDM/BR Blends)

  • EPDM/BR 블렌드의 물성에 미치는 커플링결합체의 영향을 조사하였다. N,N' -(bis(2-methyl-2-nitroprpyl))-1,6-diamino hexane) (MNPDH)와 bis(3-triethoxysilyl propyl)-tetrasulfide (TESPT)의 두가지 종류의 커플링결합제를 사용하였다. EPDM/BR 블 렌드 및 EPDM/BR/MNPDH 또는 EPDM/BR/TESPT 블렌드의 용융점도, 탄성률 및 tan $\delta$ 를 모세관 점도계, 동적점탄성장치 및 동적응력 완화측정장치로 조사하였다. 동적점탄성 및 형태학적 연구 결과 MNPDH 또는 TESPT를 첨가할 경우 결합고무 함량이 증가하고 카본 블랙의 분산성이 좋아져 가황된 EPDM/BR 블렌드의 인열강도 및 내피로성등의 물성이 향 상되었다.

  • In this paper, We intended to evaluate characteristics of XLPE/EPDM interface which exists in the cable joint. Because the fault was mainly occurred in this interface. We investigated breakdown characteristics of XLPE/EPDM double layered insulator as a funtion of temperature, pressure, annealing time, kinds of jointmaterial. It was shown that breakdown strength of XLPE/EPDM insulators is higher that of XLPE/XLPE or EPDM/EPDM

  • In our country, the housing materials of polymeric outdoor insulators have mainly been used EPDM or silicone rubber. EPDM housing materials had been widely used in the field for the first time. The reason why silicone has the high cost of production. But recently, most of the manufacturers that newly developed polymeric insulators make its choice of silicone housing. EPDM showed a good resistance to tracking. We compared the various characteristics for EPDM and silicone insulators that have similar type and design. Silicone insulators have more performance in flashover voltage test and leakage current measurement because of a good water repellent than EPDM ones. Also, the property of EPDM compared with silicone insulators greatly decreased after aging test in combined acceleration ageing facilities for 1000 hours.

EPDM/NR 블랜드의 물성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Properties of EPDM/NR Blends)

  • The physical properties of rubber blend between natural rubber(NR) and ethylene propylene diene terpolymer(EPDM) were investigated as a study of EPDM composite materials. For EPDM/NR blends, the effects of ethylene and diene contents in EPDM, blend ratio, dicumyl peroxide(DCP) curing system on the physical properties, interfacial adhesion force and dynamic crack growth etc. were studied. EPDM/NR blends loaded with carbon black were prepared by mechanical mixing and cured by plate heating cure press. Crosslinking density was measured by swelling method with toluene. The physical properties of all blends were measured with Instron, fatigue to failure(FTF), Demattia flex cracking tester(DMFC), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. As the ethylene and diene contents in EPDM increased, the physical properties, such as dynamic crack growth, adhesion to other component were increased too. Interfacial adhesion force of EPDM/NR blends to dissimilar layer was improved by the use of optimum peroxide curing system.

As EPDM addition ratio is increased, the physical properties such as resistance to ozone and aging have also improved, on the other hand, elongation and abrasion resistance decreased. 2. Tear strength is less influenced by blending and character after aging exhibited the same result. 3. Tensile strength decreased with increase in EPDM contents, especially the ratio of EPDM/NBR are 50/50 and 75/25.

EPDM, IIR, 그리고 BIIR 내후성 고무 복합체의 열노화 거동 (Thermal Aging Behaviors of Weather Resistant Rubber Composites of EPDM, IIR, and BIIR)

  • EPDM, IIR, 그리고 BIIR 복합체를 열노화시켜 가교밀도 변화를 조사하였다. 노화 시간이 증가하거나 노화온도가 올라갈수록 EPDM 복합체의 가교밀도는 증가하였으나, 고온에서 장기간 노화된 IIR과 BIIR 복합체의 가교밀도는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. EPDM 복합체의 가교밀도 변화에 대한 활성화 에너지는 BIIR 복합체보다 높았다. 실험결과는 알릴 수소의 수, 아연 복합체의 활성화, 입체 가리움 효과, 그리고 고무 사슬의 산화로 설명하였다.
