Design and Implementation of The EIGRP based on the SDN (SDN 기반의 EIGRP 라우팅 프로토콜 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently, due to the rapid growth of the internet the existing network architecture is showing limitations. In order to overcome these problems SDN has been proposed as a new paradigm. EIGRP is a modern routing protocol with many advantages but little research has been done on operation in SDN. In this paper we propose a controller-centric EIGRP based on the SDN environment. To construct the SDN network, We seperate the control function and the data transfer function and the EIGRP is operated by a separated controller. Experiments have shown that the proposed scheme can actually work and be used effectively.

  • Routing algorithm uses metric to choose the route of Least cost to destination network, the best suited routing investigates all routes to the shortest destination among networks and is decided on the route given the minimum metric. This paper analyzed packet flow for setting up the best fitted path on the same network using RIP and EIGRP as the distance vector algorithm and measured the Link-efficiency.

  • RIP, EIGRP, OSPF are the interior gateway protocol for sending and receiving routing information among routers in AS(Autonomous System). Various path selection methods using the metric in regard to them have been studied recently but there are few examples that the contents learners understand theoretically are verified by the practice. The Best Path is determined by calculating the Cost value based on the relevant topology of each routing protocol. After implementing the virtual network, it is certain that the results tracking and verifying the relevant path selection of each routing protocol are consistent with the Best Path. If methods suggested in this paper are applied properly, the relevant path selection process of routing protocol can be understood systematically. And it is expected that the outstanding results of learning will be able to be achieved.

  • 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 망에서 동적라우팅 프로토콜로 다중영역을 지원하는 OSPF (Open Shortest Path First)를 중심으로 망 축약(summary), 타 프로톨과의 연동을 위한 재분배(redistribution), Virtual Link 등 복잡한 설정 기법을 연구하고 이를 신라대학교 LAN 구성에 적용한다. 시스코의 망 시뮬레이터 장비인 패킷트레이서를 활용하여 라우터와 스위치는 각각 2620XM Router, 2950T-24 Switch를 사용하고, 라우팅 프로토콜은 OSPF, EIGRP(Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol)를, 또한 이들 간의 연결을 위해서는 재분배를 이용하고, 다중 영역 중 백본 area에 인접하지 않는 area에 대한 연결을 위해서는 Virtual Link 등 여러 설정 기법을 사용한다. 전체 망 구성 연결 후에는 이들 설정에 대한 통신상태를 확인한다.

  • The objective of this paper is to analyze and characterize to simulate routing observations on end-to-end routing circuits and a ping experiment of a virtual network after modeling, such as IPv6 migration, an OSPFv3 routing experiment based on an IPv6 environment, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing using IPv6 planning and operations in an OPNET Modeler. IPv6 deployment based largely on the integrated wired and wireless network was one of the research tasks at hand. The previous studies' researchers recommended that future research work be done on the explicit features of both OSPFv3 and EIGRP protocols in the IPv4/IPv6 environment, and more research should be done to explore how to improve the end-to-end IPv6 performance. Also, most related work was performed with an IPv4 environment but lacked studies related to the OSPFv3 virtual network based on an end-to-end IPv6 environment. Hence, this research continues work in previous studies in analyzing IPv6 migration, an OSPFv3 routing experiment based on IPv6, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing. In the not too distant future, before enabling the default IPv6, it would help to understand network design and deployment based on an IPv6 environment through IPv6 planning and operations for the end-user perspective such as success or failure of connection on IPv6 migration, exploration of an OSPFv3 routing circuit based on an end-to-end IPv6 environment, and a ping experiment for IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack networks and IPv6 network for OSPFv3 routing. We were able to observe an optimal route for modeling of an end-to-end virtual network through simulation results as well as find what appeared to be a fast ping response time VC server to ensure Internet quality of service better than an HTTP server.
