  • This study is written with a purpose to foresee the changes of way of life in the 21st century trough recognizing an environment based on a correct ecological world-view and to create environmental design of seeing the nature and humans as one organism. This study is focused especially in environmental design and written generally based on urban ecology human ecology cultural ecology and plant ecology with this multi-interdisciplanary approach,. To understand meaning of ecosytem by considering the theory of ecology for ecological approach of the environmental design and to grope for possibility of applying environmental design by considering what to analyze and how to differenciate concept for ecological environmental plan from the mechanical design. Through this study it was realized that the ecological design starts from the recognistion of seeing the humans and nature as a one and form being aware of signficance of all the living things in our surrounding environment.

  • Information technology and globalization are two main forces that will bring in a social transition in the new millenium. Human Ecology, as a discipline to study the interaction between individuals and families and their environment, needs to define a new mission in changing social environments. This paper analyzes the forces behind this social transition and their influences to the lifestyle of individuals and families. It also defines new missions of Human Ecology in terms of education, subjects and methods of research, and public responsibilities. As the society changes, the paradigm of Human Ecology should be expanded to cover newly appearing environmental factors. It should be emphasized that these expanded areas should be under the unified field of Human Ecology to offer the integrated approaches that other specialized field may not offer.

  • Self-efficacy is an important variable determining adolescents' behavior. This study was designed to develope a program for improving teens' self-efficacy. The goal of this program was as follows: (1) to improve self-efficacy by enlarge self-knowledge through in- depth search of one's own inner world, (2) to correct one's inferiority impeding one's inner growth, (3) to improve self-efficacy in family relationship, peer relationship, and academic achievement areas. This program consisted of total 6 sessions, supplemented with interpersonal relationships regarding positive family functioning and the impact of peer groups which were found out in recent researches. Specific strategies such as verbal persuasion, mastery experience, vicarious experience and affective arousal were used.

  • Land (scape) ecology is a trans-disciplinary science studying the related systems at the earth surface, in their visual, structural and functional aspects. it serves as an umbrella under which abiotic and biotic sciences, in an integrated way, study the for each relevant land attributes and their interrelations. The spatial aspects of these relations have a special interest. Landscape ecology my have a pure scientific purpose, but usually is executed in an applied context, related to land evaluation for land use and conservation. Depending on the aim and application of the study, one of the land attributes may get special attention. Vegetation mapping may contribute to landscape ecological study but also benefit from it especially in case of reconnaissance surveys. This is because in less detailed surveys of any land attribute, like land form, soil, vegetation, one must necessarily apply landscape ecological principles in the survey methodology, including remote sensing.

  • 1. It is man that plays a important role in doing harm to ecology. So human ought to understand ecology and develop their mind considering a ecology through practicing Noble eightfold Path(入正道) austerities. 2. With a view of traditional Korean medicine, it is accomplished the circulation between human and heaven and earth by Qi. And then these are inter-transformed essence, Qi and spirit and carry out unification themselves by coexisting with university. 3. I consider 'Well-being' is man-centered thinking countering to the view of ecology. Then the health of body and spirit is accomplished through the life harmonizing with nature incidentally. 4. • This study examines changes in economy status of retailers with self-employed and introduce a re-education program for enhancing their market competition supported by KeiMyung University and the city of Daeku. There are more than 80 participants for this program, mostly employed in small business in such as supermarket, apparel industry, conventional type of market and so on. The questionnaires were administered to all participants and analyzed the level of satisfaction for categories included in survey to evaluate the program. The results of study leads us to suggest the ways how those small business families can survive in furture and give the motives to develop new marketing strategies.

  • Fish communities in river networks provide significant ecosystem services that will likely decline under future land use and climate change. We developed a model that simulates the consequences to multiple populations of one or more fish species-a meta-community-from multiple stressors across a river network. The model is spatially-explicit and age-structured, with three components: habitat suitability; population dynamics, including species interactions; and movement across a spatial network. Although this model is simple, it can form the basis of fisheries assessments and may be incorporated into an integrated modeling system for watershed management and prediction.
