This study examines building's power consumption unit cost and Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV)'s generation efficiency and load rate with the subjects of university dormitory buildings in order to suggest foundational data for new and recycled energy use and management to plan and operate university dormitories afterwards. Thereby, this research gained the following findings. 1. The quantity of solar radiation and efficiency change in the BIPV system applied to the research subject buildings after the lapse of time was averagely 8.7%, and it is thought that temperature increase determines conversion efficiency with the influence of surrounding outside temperature and the module's temperature. 2. The generation efficiency of the BIPV system in the research subject buildings was averagely 10.9%. In May, it was 13.9%, and in January, it was the lowest as 10.25%. Considering the fact that power consumption reduces during an intermediate period, it will be necessary to establish measures for equipment and power consumption load balancing. 3. The monthly load rate of the BIPV system was averagely 4.09%. In May, it was the highest as 4.94%, and in July, it was the lowest as 3.24%. 4. It is intended to conduct constant follow-up research on estimating university dormitory building's power consumption unit cost and examining the generation efficiency and load rate of the BIPV system.
Purpose: In order to improve the energy performance of existing buildings, so actively promoted green remodeling business. Also, improvement of the performance of envelope system of apartment housing is an absolute. The purpose of implementation of the data base and application plan of the envelope system for green remodeling of apartment housing. Method: For this study, It proposed a classification system of green remodeling envelope system constructed actual to select the applicable representative method and input material of apartment housing for green remodeling. In this study, divided into construction waste processing stage and production phase of the material for the boundary of the system, and implementation the classification system of the envelope system for applicable green remodeling. For this, established 6 environmental impact categories database. Result: As a result of various suggestions were available for case study research, alternative combinations of existing combinations than six kinds of environmental impact insulation system with superior input materials combining 96 kinds, window system, 12 kinds for determining the applicability of the established database. Depending on the account for a large proportion if compared to the detailed analysis of the environmental impact resulting from the production phase and disposal phase was analyzed that the operating management of the necessary input materials. Is considered that the economic performance and integrated energy performance required by the applicable public housing green remodeling evaluation techniques considered for future improvements insulation sheath.
The purpose of this study is to present the raw data for management and conservation of tidal flat by objective surveying and analysing the halophytes and vegetation distributed in Seocheon tidal flat wetland conservation area, Korea. The results are as follows. The numbers of halophytes in this site were summarized as 27 taxa including 13 families, 21 genera, 26 species and 1 variety. In the results of ecologically important species, rare plant was 1 taxa, 10 taxa of the specific plants by floristic region, 1 taxa of naturalized plant and 1 taxa of the plant with approval for delivering oversea. The life form spectrum consisted of therophytes(44.4%), hemicryptophytes(25.9%), geophytes(14.8%), nanophanerophytes(7.5%), chamaephytes and hydatophytes(each 3.7%). The types of vegetation of Seocheon tidal flat wetland conservation area were classified with 17 communities including Vitex rotundifolia community, Suaeda maritima community, Calystegia soldanella community and so forth. In the halophytes composition, section C and E-1 had the largest character species and companion species. In the results of vegetation amount, section C, D, E-1 and E-2 were the highest score, on the other hand, section A and B were the lowest. The final rating was calculated by adding up values of two factors, and section C and E-1 had the highest rating of II. In future, we will survey the whole flora in Seocheon tidal flat, we will offer the help to establishing the conservation plan of coastal plant ecosystem in West Sea.
Over the 20th century global temperature increase has been 0.6$^{\circ}C$. The globally averaged surface temperature is projected to increase by 1.4 to 5.8$^{\circ}C$ over the period 1990 to 2100. Nearly all land areas will have higher maximum temperature and minimum temperature, and fewer cold days and frost days. More intense precipitation events will take plate over many areas. Over most mid-latitude continental interiors will have increased summer continental drying and associated risk of drought. By 2100, if the annual surface temperature increase is 3.5$^{\circ}C$, we will have 15.9$^{\circ}C$ from 12.4$^{\circ}C$ at present. Also the annual precipitation will range 1,118-2,447 mm from 972-1,841 mm at present in Korea. Consequently the average crop periods for summer crops will be 250 days that prolonged 32 days than at present. In the case of gradual increase of global warming, an annual crop can be adapted to the changing climate through the selection of filial generations in breeding process. The perennial crops such as an apple should be shifted the chief producing place to northern or high latitude areas where below 13.5$^{\circ}C$ of the annual surface temperature. If global warming happens suddenly over the threshold atmospheric greenhouse gases, then all ecosystems will have tremendous disturbance. Agricultural land-use plan, which state that farmers decide what to plant, based on their climate-based advantages. Therefore, farmers will mitigate possible negative imparts associated with the climate change. This study analyzed a characteristic by types of urban regeneration helping the establishment of urban identity under social condition change. It will be foundation of sustainable urban development with strategy that secures world-wide competitive power. For this, sample cases that established identity from urban regeneration were reviewed about the main subject and the supporting subject in business side and hardware, software, system, and finance in design factors. 4samples each in inheritance intensification type and change creation type were selected and analyzed. The result said it is most effective to establish urban identity when inheritance intensification type is the private-centered for urban regeneration. And it is better to do the project that the main subject and the supporting subject are taken by the private or the private-leading partnership. It is necessary to manage the region and plan events with software design factors more than hardware design factors. In addition, for urban identity, it was found to be desirable to utilize and preserve fully current resources such as historical scenery and activate the communities than making new facilities. On the contrary, the project based on change creation type needs to be under the public management with innovative idea. Also, when it comes to design factors, facilities related to culture and art and community spaces should open and run actively. It is important for the region to improve its image by New design style such as TOD. In software side, it is important to manage the region by monitoring about urban regeneration business and solve social mix and employment problem. On the other hand, in terms of system and administration, both types don't show a difference in urban identity establishment, since it is same that both should make partnership and get a support of subsidy to be most effective.
Purpose: The objective of this study is to divide personal traits of the elderly living in a rural area into extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and loneliness and to identify the relationship between personal traits and receptivitiy to sharing living space in communal shared housing. Method: Subjects of this study are the elderly of ages greater than 55 living in Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do. Depending on how often elderly welfare facility was used, places where the elderly gathered were divided into a senior citizen center, senior welfare center, and other places where they often gathered. The researchers visited each of the places directly and conducted a survey with face-to-face interviews. Result: The collected data consisting of 124 respondents were analyzed through SPSS statistical program. It showed that 5 personal traits, except for agreeableness, had statistically significant difference. Extrovert and low lonely elderly people had high receptivity. The relationship between personal traits and acceptable shared space revealed differently depending on the function of space. Especially, shared resting space was related to low emotion-oriented trait, such as neuroticism and loneliness, while shared hobby and sanitary space were related to strong management-oriented trait of conscientiousness. These findings demonstrate the importance of understanding personal traits in predicting receptivitiy to sharing living space. Also, it is necessary to compare the degree of receptivity to sharing living space based on personal traits and to plan shared space in several levels, such as full sharing, partial sharing, and individual use, to develop and supply communal shared housing successfully.
Recently, management and restoration efforts using the plants promote the disturbed habitats such as a set-asides or field boundaries. But, side effects are coming out because of using the exotic plants in restoration process. This study was conducted to select the native plant species used for restoration through the vegetation survey and plant community analysis at small stream-side in rural villages. We surveyed at two small stream-sides in open field and high land area in 2005 as a case study. Total 126 species was found at small stream side in open field area. As the result of important value' calculation, Persicaria thunbergii 23.0%, Humulus japonicus 18.6%, Phragmites communis 4.4%, Bromus japonicus 4.2%, and Rosa multiflora 3.4% were in the order of important value. Total 92 species were found at small stream side in high land area. As the result of important value' calculation, Dactylis glomerata 16.1%, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis 11.0%, Persicaria thunbergii 10.9%, Humulus japonicus 9.3%, Phragmites japonica 5.2% and Phragmites communis 3.5% were in the order of important value. We selected some plant species to use in restoration after due consideration of problems of exotic plant and high coverage and density species, and ecological process; Persicaria thunberii, Phragmites communis, Bromus japonicus, Rosa multiflora, Equisetum arvense, Digtaria sanguinalis, Impatiens textori, and Artemisia princeps var. orientalis in open field stream-side, and Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Persicaria thunbergii, Phragmites japonica, Phragmites communis, Artemisia selengensis, Panicum bisulcatum, Rorippa indica, and Equisetum arvense at hghland stream-side. We will verify the selected native plants and plan the utilization of the native plants in restoration at stream-side in rural village.
This study was aimed at improving the landscape agricultural facilities. Agricultural production spaces such as rice paddies and fields are a representative landscape of rural areas. These landscapes should be aesthetically presentable and as such, they require proper landscape planning and management. However, the construction of infrastructure in these landscapes presents environmental and ecological problems. As a result, the unique aesthetics in landscapes such as rice paddies is disrupted by infrastructure development. The construction of infrastructural complexes takes away the pleasantness of the natural landscape. Photographic slides were variable elements were systematically removed in the landscape were used. The original plan and its alternatives (1, 2, 3, 4) in the BV, JV, JG, and GG regions were evaluated using the Likert scale and AHP methods. Statistical analysis was conducted using ANOVA. The results indicate that the removal of variable elements, expansion of separation distance, and the planting of green plants had a positive effect on all parameters. Improvement of landscapes containing infrastructural complexes can be achieved by the use of image simulation.
Restoration of DMZ has come up with the discussion on the peaceful use of the DMZ and the conservation plan of the army. In this study, we aim to identify soil characteristics of 108 sites to figure out environmental conditions around the iron fence of DMZ where vegetation has been removed repeatedly. Based on the soil characteristics and climate variables, hierarchy clustering was performed to categorize sites. As a result, we categorized 108 sites into 4 types: middle elevation region, lowland, East coast lowland, other areas. Group of 'other area' is only high in nutrient and clay proportion. Others are in igneous rock and metamorphic rocks with a high proportion of sand and lower nutrients than the optimum range of growth in Korean forest soil. The middle elevation region has a high altitude, low temperature. The east coast lowland has a high temperature in January and low precipitation. The lowland has a low altitude and high temperature. This category provides the environmental condition around the DMZ fence and can be used to select plants for restoration. The restoration project around the DMZ iron fence should satisfy the security of military plans, which means that functional restoration is prior to ecological restoration such as vegetation management under a power line. Additionally, improvement of soil quality and surface stability through restoration projects is required to enhance the resilience of the ecosystem in DMZ.
The purpose of this study is to present the basic data for establishing the management plan of forest ecosystem in Honam-Jeongmeak and Geumnamhonam-Jeongmaek by surveying and analysing the vascular plants distributed in Jangansan(A-site), Palgongsan(B-site), Mandeoksan(C-site), Chuwolsan (D-site), Cheonunsan(E-site) and Jeamsan(F-site). The numbers of flora were 813 taxa including 115 families, 406 genera, 700 species, 4 subspecies, 94 varieties and 15 forms. There were 500 taxa in A-site, 427 taxa in B-site, 402 taxa in C-site, 449 taxa in D-site, 345 taxa in E-site and 524 taxa in F-site. The rare plants were 12 taxa including Paeonia japonica, Iris minutoaurea, Chloranthus fortunei and so forth. In IUCN Red List categories, there were 1 taxon of EN, 2 taxa of VU, 8 taxa of LC and 1 taxon of DD. The Korean endemic plants were 20 taxa including Salix koriyanagi, Thalictrum actaefolium var. brevistylum, Saussurea pseudogracilis and so forth. The specific plants by floristic region were 108 taxa including 58 taxa of grade I, 30 taxa of grade II, 16 taxa of grade III, 2 taxa of grade IV and grade V, respectively. The plants adaptable to climate change were 18 taxa including 11 taxa of southern plant and 7 taxa of northern plants. The naturalized plants were 49 taxa including Rumex nipponicus, Brassica juncea, Trifolium repens and so forth. The invasive alien plants were 4 taxa including Rumex acetocella, Solanum carolinense, Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Aster pilosus.
